Episode 1
The gentle breeze blew gently across the room, as the soft hum of rain tapped against the wide glass windows of the Whitmore estate, its rhythm steady and calming.
Inside the room, there was great warmth and laughter, the rain and the cold breeze didn't affect the family of three in any way.
Damian Whitmore sat on the rug with his son Dorian along with a bunch of toys. His sleeves rolled to his elbows, as he helped little Dorian assemble a toy car.
“Daddy, you’re doing it wrong,” Dorian giggled, clutching the tiny screwdriver with all the seriousness of a surgeon with a dying patient.
Damian chuckled, that rare, boyish laugh that Hailey secretly loved. “I’m the CEO of half the city, and yet my son thinks I can’t build a car.”
“You can buy cars, Daddy. But Dorian can build them,” Dorian declared proudly, handing him the wrong screw.
Hailey leaned against the door frame, smiling at the sight before her. For a moment, it didn’t matter that Damian often buried himself in work, or that their marriage wasn’t perfect.
Hailey thanked God for this beautiful thing he gave to her even though it wasn't beautiful at first when she and Damian got married.
They looked like the family she had always dreamed of. Damian, who was always cold and tough, was sitting and playing with his son and he and Hailey were finally able to get along with each other.
“ Should I just leave you two alone? You guys seemed to be enjoying yourselves. Looks like I've been replaced," Hailey said, teasing them.
Damian looked up at her, his eyes meeting hers. " Never," he said, simply making Hailey blush.
The word lingered in the air, heavier than it should have been.
Hailey felt her pulse quicken, warmth creeping into her cheeks. Even after years together, Damian still had the power to disarm her with a single look.
She lowered herself onto the rug beside them. “Alright, move over. Dorian give me that wheel.”
Dorian obeyed, and together, the three of them bent over the little car.
Their shoulders brushed, Damian’s hand grazed hers once as he reached for a screw, and she almost forgot how to breathe.
The laughter still lingered in the room long after Dorian excused himself, heading upstairs to fetch the sketch of the toy car they had promised to build together.
Hailey leaned back against the couch, her cheeks glowing with warmth.
Damian’s eyes never left her dark, intent, brimming with something deeper than amusement.
“You know, I wonder if I love watching you more than I love breathing." Damian murmured, shifting closer.
Hailey chuckled, her face even more red. " Damian, you love exaggerating. Must you always exaggerate?”
“Not exaggerating. Truth,” he said, his hand brushing over hers. His thumb traced the back of her knuckles, lingering with a deliberate slowness that made her heart race.
Her protest caught in her throat when he leaned in, his breath grazing her cheek. His fingers trailed to her waist, tugging her gently toward him.
“ Damian, stop," Hailey said, she was even breathing again.
“ Why? Dorian isn’t here,” Damian whispered, his voice low, teasing. “We have a few minutes to ourselves.”
Her pulse quickened. She pretended to push him away, though her body betrayed her, leaning closer instead. “You’re impossible,” she whispered, smiling despite herself.
He grabbed her and kissed her. His lips against Hailey's were wonderfully intoxicating.
He traced his hot tongue across her lips, causing an exquisite pleasure to soar through her body.
Hailey's heart was pumping so fast and loud within her chest.
Just as he was about to put her down on the couch and go further, the door burst open.
“Sir, Madam!” A maid’s panicked voice broke the spell. “Young Master Dorian—he’s vomiting blood!”
Hailey and Damian immediately got up and zoomed out of the room at the speed of lightning, hurrying to Dorian.

Doctor, what happened? Is he alright?". Hailey asked, facing the doctor, while they were in the hospital.
"Your son had food poisoning. Something he ate, and his system is reacting badly to it. It is reacting very violently to it. He's unconscious due to loss of blood and fluid. But we have been able to give him some fluid but not blood “. The doctor explained.
" He was fine this morning. What did he eat? Yesterday we had dinner and everything was also okay “. Hailey said, confused, her throat dried up.
“We are also not sure what he ate or where it came from, but we’re preparing for a blood transfusion immediately to help him recover quickly. While we are on it, we need you to stay calm, and we need your husband to….. “.
“WHAT HAPPENED TO MY GRANDSON?!” Elizabeth, her mother-in-law, yelled as she entered the room but something shocking happened.
They didn't have time to answer Elizabeth's question when three police officers came into the hospital.
Then one of the officers came forward and turned to Hailey.
“Hailey Whitmore?" he said, looking at all of them.
“ Y..Yes". Hailey said slowly, looking confused.
“Mrs Hailey Whitmore, you are under arrest for the attempted murder and orchestrating the car accident of Miss Christabel Morgan.
“Ms Christabel," someone gasped behind them, distracting them from Elisabeth's question.
Christabel, Damian's ex-girlfriend, was brought in a wheelchair after the three police men who had just walked in.
She had an accident six months ago and has been in a coma ever since. But suddenly she just woke up.
“Christabel? Oh my God! Are you awake? Why didn't your parents inform us? Why are you here? When did this happen? Are you okay?" Elizabeth ran to her and asked her different questions.
"It's okay aunt. I'm fine. I will go back, but for now I just come to tell the truth and reveal something “. Christabel gave a weak, pitiful smile and said.
Immediately she said that the room shifted and everyone looked at her in confusion.
“ What? What the hell is going on here?!" Damian, who had just walked in and overheard the policeman talking to Hailey and yelled at the officer angrily.
“ Wait no! What? Accident? I didn't do that! You are surely mistaken! I didn't… “. Hailey was saying when the officer interrupted her.
“ Miss Morgan claims, with evidence, that you ordered and arranged the attack on her in order to silence her permanently." The officer continued.
" What?!"
Then Christabel began to weep softly.
" Christabel, are you sure? This can't be true “. Damian said, shaking his head but with doubt in his mind.
" Damian, please look around, it's true. I wouldn't just accuse your wife without evidence. I am not like that. Remember who I am. We were friends. We were lovers once. You know I would never lie to you or hurt you in any way! “. She said, looking pityfully.
“ Sweetheart, it's okay. Calm down. Don't stress yourself, you know you are still injured. We will get to the bottom of this. Just tell us what you know “. Elizabeth said as she held Christabel’s hand in hers.
Christabel grabbed her hand and looked at her with sorrowful eyes.
“I didn’t want to believe it either. But I found out the truth, and she found out about it. She knew I knew the truth and I would expose her. That's why she sent this man to kill me. That's why she wanted me out of the way”. Christabel said sniffing.
" No! I didn't do anything like that! I don't know what she is talking about! You.. Christabel, why are you lying?“ Hailey shouted and moved close to Christabel, but she moved away, pretending to be scared, and she was shielded by the police men.
"Hailey, stop lying, what I'm saying is true. You wanted to protect your secret and stop me from saying the truth “. Christabel said.
"What truth? “. Damian said, interrupting Christabel.
“Christabel, what truth are you talking about?” Damian asked her again.
Christabel looked straight at him. Her eyes filled with tears.
She took a deep, shaky breath.
Then she dropped the bombshell.
“Dorian… is not your son."
