Lucius couldn't believe what was about to happen. He almost kissed her, seeing her in that vulnerable state undid him. The words she said in her sleep made his dead heart do somersaults in his chest. His mind drifted back to the dream and its effect on his manhood made him shift uncomfortable in his seat again.
He looked over to Thea to see if she could see his discomfort, but she was sitting in her seat comfortably looking out the window. It irritated him to see her so comfy when he had to sit there all ridged and hard.
What he didn't know was that Thea was biting the inside of her cheek to hide the turmoil she was feeling. She wasn't going to deny it anymore, she felt a pull towards Lucius, and it was something she had never felt before. Ever since that dream, she has felt hot and achy all over. As if someone had hit replay on the dream, it kept replaying in her mind, to keep herself from moaning out loud, she bit down on her lip hard, drawing blood.
Lucius's eyes shot to her, a small drop of blood had formed on the lip she had been biting. Although it was less than a drop, its aroma penetrated his senses, making his thirst surface. He hadn't fed since meeting Thea, he gripped his arm rest hard, making it bend. He had always been able to control his hunger better, but for some reason the smell of her blood was making him crazed like a newly turned vampire. He needed to feed soon, or he might do something that he might regret later.
It was three in the morning when they landed. As they were making their way out of the terminal, Lucius asked the security guard to take Thea to the car. Thea frowned, as he made his way to the slutty air hostess, Hannah. He whispered something in her ear and she started to follow him with a smile. Thea felt a pang in her stomach as they walked out of sight, the nausea she had been fighting was coming back all of a sudden.
"Ms. Sullivan, this way please." the guard said gesturing towards the car.
"I just want to use the restroom. Give me a minute." She rushed to find a bathroom. The security guard hurried after her. She didn't pay attention to which bathroom she entered.
She hunched over the sink, heaving, and throwing up nothing. She took deep breaths to calm her nausea and splashed her face with cold water, she patted her face dry and was about to leave when she heard a soft moan and she froze.
"Yes, Lucius, take whatever you need." Thea's heart stopped and all color drained from her.
She slowly turned to the closed bathroom stall, her legs had a mind of their own, and she found herself standing right in front of it. Through the gap in the door she saw Hannah's back pinned against Lucius's chest . He had his mouth closed on one of her wrists, this time it was Thea who let out a gasp. Hannah looked up, opened her eyes and caught Thea looking through the gap. She smirked at her and pressed her ass into Lucius and undulated her hips into his groins. Hurt and confused, Thea bolted from the bathroom. He jerked back from Hannah, as soon as he felt her move against him.
"What are you doing?"
"Lucius,"
"Mr. Daciano" he snapped
"What?" she asked, confused.
" The only people I care about call me Lucius?" he said angrily.
"But we ..."
"I had a hunger and YOU were "convenient". Do not get anything more out of this, now get out." he dismissed her carelessly.
Lucius heard her gasp and she left in a hurry. He leaned his head against the wall, his hunger was still there but not enough to drive him mad. Since, smelling Thea's blood, Hannah's blood felt disgusting and was making him queasy. Settling himself, he walked out of the stall. The smell of a rainstorm penetrated him, Thea. He went still. What was she doing in the men's bathroom? Had she seen what happened in the stall? Hannah's cheap, overwhelming perfume had masked Thea's natural scent. He didn't hear anyone coming in, his hunger had left a loud hum in his ears.
Thea walked back to where Lucius had left her with the body guard. Thea didn't understand why her heart was twisting in her chest like she had been betrayed in some way. It was strange that she felt the way she did, especially since she had just met Lucius two nights ago. She was still in her thoughts when Lucius came back.
" What are you still doing here? I asked you to take her to the car," he asked the guard, and looked at Thea's pale face.
He saw a flash of hurt look on Thea's face but it was gone as fast as it had appeared.
"Something wrong?" he asked.
"No, just sick from the landing" she smiled sweetly and grabbed her bag off the floor, before Lucius could.
Something was definitely wrong, and he had a feeling he knew what it might be and the warning bells were going off in Lucius's head.
"Thea, i was..."
"I am ready when you are", she cut him off with a sweet smile and walked away. He frowned at her behavior but followed her.
Like Kate had said, there was a car waiting by the exit of the airport. The driver took Thea's small bag and opened the door for her.
Thanking him, Thea got in. Lucius slid in next to her and they were on their way to who knows where. They sat in awkward silence, her stomach was in knots due to hunger. She hadn't had a good meal in over twelve hours. Watching the busy streets in the dark go by was making her drowsy. She didn't know when, but sleep took over her.
He didn't know why, but he felt a strong urge to explain himself to her. Like he broke her trust in some way. He kept trying to come up with things to say just so he could start a conversation about what was bothering her.
" It looks like vampires aren't the only creatures roaming this city at this time of night" he chuckled awkwardly.
He looked over to Thea when he did't get an answer. Her head lolled to the side at an odd angle. Smiling, Lucius reached over and carefully set her head against the headrest behind her. She stirred a little but continued to sleep.
Lucius was entranced as he watched Thea sleep, she looked so peaceful. He was never sure what she was thinking, always changing her emotions. He saw a frown appear on her delicate brows, and then she smiled.
"Ace stop it that tickles" she mumbled in her sleep, swatting at her ear.
"Who the f**k is Ace?" he said, more to himself than anyone else. Did she have a boyfriend? That thought sent a ping of jealousy through him.
"Sir, we have arrived" the driver informed him, pulling out his thought, and he nodded. Before the driver could even get his seat belt off, Lucius went around and opened the door.
"Flacăra mea ? " he whispered, gaging to see if she awoke, when she just mubble and stayed sleeping he reached in to get Thea out of the car, carrying her in bridal style. He didn't want to wake her, not after the day she had.
"I love your smell" she said in her sleep and burrowed deeper into him, causing him to stand frozen in his spot. He feared his legs would buckle if he tried to move. Lucius breathed in deeply and suppressed his desire and made his way to the entrance. The doors opened and Trehan, with a bright smile on his face, appeared in front of him with a silk robe on.
"Lucius buddy," he said with open arms.
Thea stirred in his arms, making him glare at Trehan, who caught on and shoulder shrugged in an apologizing manner.
"So this is the mystery woman, she is cute." he said in a hushed tone.
"Her room?" Lucius said through clenched teeth, tightening his hold on the peacefully asleep Thea. Trehan smiled at his friend's reaction.
He had known Lucius for decades but he had never reacted this way before. His possessiveness had Trehan curious, and he wanted to dig deeper.
"If I had known you were bringing such a hot guest I would have set her room across from the mines not all the way on the other end of the castle. I can always fix that mistake later though," he said teasingly, but the look of pure rage in Lucius's face told him that he was walking on thin ice.
"This way" he said, turning around.
After passing a few dozen rooms, he opened one of the rooms. Lucius gently laid the still sleeping Thea on the bed. As he moved away from her, she groaned in protest and grabbed his shirt collar tightly. Their faces were just inches apart and Lucius wanted nothing more to stay with her. Slowly he loosened her hold and stepped away, bringing the cover up her shoulders. He couldn't resist the urge to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear, and he let his hand linger on her cheek. Thea smiled and turned her face into his palm. Trehan watched the whole exchange with amusement.
"Yep, this is going to be so much fun" Trehan murmured, when he saw the longing look on Lucius's face. He cleared his throat to get his attention. Lucius moved his hand away and gave him a "don't you dare" look, and walked out of the room with Trehan following him out.
" Will she be safe?" Lucius asked, without looking at him.
"No one comes up here without my permission" he said, knowing what Lucius meant.
"Do you want to feed, I can send Selena to you, or do you prefer a petite blonde instead," he asked Lucius teasingly.
"I have already fed" Lucius hissed.
"Mmm, she does smell tasty, like honey, I wonder if she tastes like it too". As soon as those words left Trehan's mouth, he was pinned against the wall with such force that the wall cracked.
"She is off limits." Lucius seethed dangerously, his eyes glowing and his fangs ascending.
" OK, OK, I didn't know she was yours" Trehan gasped. Lucius tensed for a second but let him go. He gave one last look to the sleeping woman, and walked out the door with Trehan following him.
"She is not mine, but she is not going to be yours either" he said, and started to walk towards his usual room.
"What if she wants to be mine? You know the effect I have on women. I mean all I have to do is smile and they are all over me." Trehan said, keeping up with his friend's long strides.
Lucius kept his anger in check, but all he wanted to do was to beat the crap out of him. He knew that he was trying to get under his skin, and he was succeeding at it too. He didn't like the thought of Thea being with Trehan or anyone else, for that matter. He knew he had no claim to her, but it still hurt to think she could be with anyone she wanted. Trehan was right about one thing, he did have the ability to make a woman swoon with just his smile. What if Thea fell for it too?
"If she is so easily swayed by your smile, then you both belong together" Lucius said, as he opened the door to his room and entered, slamming the door on his friend's face.
"Soooo is that a go ahead for me to sway her then," Trehan asked loudly, the door cracked as Lucius punched it from the other side, making Christian smirk.
