BREAKING NEWS
Liz arrived at the police station and watched the comings and goings of citizens and members of the police force. A range of cubicles and closed offices surrounded her as Marco led her to an interview room while other detectives ushered Bella and Jamie to separate rooms. Why were they going into separate rooms?
She sat across from Marco whose look of despair caused her to shake and hold her breath. Crossing her legs, Liz shifted her posture and waited. The dank smell almost made her gag, so she assumed a person with bad hygiene had been in this room last. An uneasy sense permeated her whole body, and she suddenly knew this was bad.
“I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news, Liz.” She braced herself and averted her eyes, not wanting to see the darkness in Marco’s eyes.
