GRIEVING
As Liz and her friends ambled towards Bella’s car in silence, Johnny walked towards the entrance of the police station. She turned to Bella and Jamie. “Can you guys give me a minute. I need to speak to someone. I won’t be long.” She rushed over to Johnny who ignored her, putting his hand over his chin as she scurried towards him. She wondered why he was seeing the police. “Johnny, wait. What’s going on? What are you doing here?”
He avoided her eyes. “They want to question me about something, but I don’t know what it’s about.” Surely, he could be seeing the police for any number of reasons, but what? “Anyway, I better go in. See you later.”
She held her hand up. “Wait.”
