CHAPTER 8 FAMILIAL STRANGERS Liz drove over to Camilla’s house while Matthew followed in his sister’s car. Gabriella sat in the back with Mariana and they chatted about children’s shows. Gabriella had a way with children, and Mariana seemed to shine around her. Liz got out of the car, aware of Matthew’s strong presence behind her. She was conscious of his commanding persona but put that thought out of her mind. She barely knew the guy and was already self-conscious.
