CHAPTER 7
THE MEETING
Liz steered towards the Richmond area about to meet with Camilla’s brother, Matthew, at the foster carer’s house. Gabriella sat in the passenger seat, and looked wistfully through the window, appearing to be in a world of her own. So far, she had proven to be hard-working and keen to work in the community sector field. She didn’t appear to take after Domenic in any way. She was the complete opposite.
Liz had read through the article about Gabriella and her mother, who apparently had reported his abuse to the police multiple times, but nothing was ever done about it. On one occasion, her mother, Jean, had been admitted into hospital with a concussion and broken ribs, and that was about the time he’d left her for Liz. If he’d stayed with Jean, he might’ve killed her
