Chapter 33: Secrets
It took Avery approximately twenty-five minutes to make the drive from the corners of Lake and Mulberry Avenues to 148 Glennfield Street in downtown Colsen. Once parked in front of Aunt Sophie Maxx’s massive home, Avery climbed out of his Jeep, made his way across the snowy street, and rushed up the three steps to Judd’s aunt’s front door.
Freezing, nervous, bewildered, and not behaving like himself, he pressed the yellow-illuminated doorbell three times. Continuous thoughts and memories with Judd flooded through his mind. Flustered, he rang the buzzer a fourth time and decided to wait patiently for Judd’s aunt to answer the door.
A minute after his arrival, she came to the door, opened it, and grinned, pleased to see Avery standing there.
