Abandoned and heartbroken, Sarah refused to break. Fueled by pain and a fierce determination to survive, she clawed her way back—becoming a powerhouse entrepreneur and a fiercely protective mother to her young daughter. Her journey from devastation to dominance has earned her wealth, influence, and the kind of respect that turns heads… and invites danger.

Now, enemies lurk in the shadows—rivals who want her empire, and vultures waiting for her to fall.

Then comes the last person she ever expected to see again: Cole.

The man who shattered her trust and walked away when she needed him most. Now he’s back, claiming he's changed and desperate to be part of the family he once denied. But as past betrayals resurface and long-buried secrets threaten everything she’s built, Sarah is faced with a terrifying truth: the greatest threat may not come from her enemies, but from the man she once loved.

Can she protect her daughter, her heart, and her empire from being torn apart again?

Or is Cole’s return just the beginning of a deeper, more dangerous game?

Ep1: The shocking news
‎Sarah's POV ‎ ‎ ‎The smell of hospitals is the smell I hate so much, phenol based cleaners all over the place. ‎I can't wait for my test results to be out so I could leave. ‎ ‎I'm sure the marks of the multiple holes on the beam chair in the waiting area were already imprinted on my butt. ‎ ‎Nurses, doctors and people pacing here and there. ‎ ‎And then suddenly, a loud bang as the nurses swung the door open and the stretcher burst through. ‎ ‎Wheels clattering against the ceramic tiles alongside hurried footsteps. The man laying on the stretcher looked like he was in so much pain and could barely maintain his conscious state at the moment. ‎ ‎I couldn't even imagine what could be going through his mind at that moment. ‎ ‎He was covered in blood. Like water from a broken pipe-his blood dropped over the floor like a trace behind him. ‎ ‎I have never seen so much blood in my life ‎ ‎"GSW to the abdomen," the nurse barked, her eyes fixed on the doctor who just appeared at the mid end of the hallway. ‎ ‎"He's lost a lot of blood." another nurse from the other side said, apply pressure on the gunshot wound. Her gloves were covered in red thick blood. ‎ ‎The doctor nodded. "OR now!!" ‎ ‎And just like that they disappeared, leaving a trail of blood and a sharp smell of iron behind. ‎ ‎This brought me back to why I hate being in hospitals. ‎ ‎With a lot going on recently in my life, I couldn't help but think about it. ‎ ‎I lost my job as a secretary to one of the top billionaires who also owns one of the biggest companies in the city. ‎ ‎I didn't just lose my job, I could have lost my man too. ‎ ‎Tears gathered at the side of my eyes as I walked through memory lane, I quickly got hold of myself. ‎ ‎I was a former employee of the Banks Enterprises, I was a secretary to the CEO, Cole banks. ‎ ‎I always put in all my effort for the company, I made sure we bagged every investor's deal, every merger deal, acquisition deal, etc. ‎ ‎I worked tirelessly, day and night so as to ensure that our rivals do not go ahead of us. ‎ ‎Along the line, I fell in love with the CEO, Cole Banks. Yes, I know it's not professional, but he was super hot. ‎ ‎Physically imposing, with chiseled features, dark hair, and piercing blue eyes, ‎ ‎Cole is the ultimate cold, yet strikingly handsome billionaire CEO. ‎ ‎As the head of Banks Enterprises, a conglomerate dealing in construction, real estate, and tech, he is known for his business intelligence and uncompromising demeanor. ‎ ‎Cole is the type of man who commands the attention of any room he enters. He had initially viewed relationships as complications and thus focused on his business. ‎ ‎Apart from being my boss, Cole was also the love of my life until everything changed. ‎ ‎A rumor was all it took to break up everything we had, all the moments we shared. ‎ ‎All the promises and the sweet words he said to me on his bed. He threw everything out the window because of a rumor that got to him? ‎ ‎For the past two months we have lost three huge deals. They picked me to take the fall for it, spreading a rumor that I leaked the company's future plans to our rivals. I could still remember vividly how it happened. “So it was you,” Cole Banks stepped in slamming my office door open with great force, possibly damaging it. His tailored Blue suit tried to contain the raw anger running through him. “You were the leak.” I froze on my seat, my hands came off the keyboard, confusion contained in my green eyes. “Cole?” “Save it.” He tossed a folder onto my desk. The edges were rough, an obvious sign that someone had gripped them too hard. “How do you explain this?” I slowly reached for the folder and opened it. Internal documents, confidential strategies, project blueprints, and email correspondence I had never written. “I didn’t….” “You were working with Grant Holdings,” Cole snapped. “You have been feeding them information. For the past two months, we have been losing every deal. Even the investors deal I thought we’ve already bagged, we still lost it and it all traces back to you.” Cole’s voice was sharp and loud enough for the whole staff to know what exactly was happening in my office. I stood slowly, disbelief painted across my face “This can’t be true, someone is trying to frame me for this. You know me, I'd never do…” “Do I?” Cole replied, cutting me off before I could defend myself. “Because I feel like I don't know you anymore.” “Cole, someone is setting me up, can’t you see?” “Why would I do such a thing to the company?” “I don’t know, maybe you got tired of the salary and the bonus you earn from the company and decided to level up and double the income.” “How much are they paying you?” The insults hit me harder than the words. “So this is what you think of me after everything I've done for you and this company.” “This is what I get after the late nights and all the hard work, time, and energy I invested in this company.” He turned away, his fists clenched at his sides. “HR’s investigating but the board wants action. You are suspended, pending investigation.” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, I wished someone would wake me up from this terrible dream I was having, but this wasn’t a dream. It’s really happening “No. You can’t just…” “I can and I just did.” I took a few steps towards him. “Cole, look at me. This company is my life. I’ve given everything, every late night, every canceled weekend, every damn thing you asked of me.” He refused to meet my eyes. “Someone’s pinning this on me, they want me out. You know me, Cole, I'd never do such a thing.” He turned. “Get your things, Sarah. If you are innocent then the investigation would prove that.” He walked out, slamming the door behind him. I was badly broken. By the time this happens, my reputation will be in the mud. No one would want to believe the truth. I sat back in my chair, staring around my office–a place once filled with purpose and ambitions now felt like a prison. Everything I have built within the past four years, my name, my job, and the quiet connection I once shared with Cole, is now tarnished by betrayal. I stared at the folder sitting on my desk like a loaded gun. The person who did this to me knew exactly where to strike to ruin my life and my career. All eyes were on me as I walked down the hallway. I could hear them gossiping about me like I wasn't there. “Have you heard? She was the leak, the rumors are true.” “Sarah? Well, I'm not surprised. I always knew she had something else she was doing to keep up with this lifestyle cause I mean, she always looked too polished to be just a secretary” “Stupid of her to think sleeping with the boss would give her immunity.” My walk down the hallway used to be confident, but now has become a walk of shame. ‎ ‎And just like that, I was suspended pending investigation. I know whoever planned this would have planted strong evidence to implicate me. ‎ ‎"Ms Sarah..." I heard faintly, followed by a warm soft hand resting on my shoulder. That brought me back to reality. I saw the nurse standing there. ‎ ‎She wore a pale blue scrub set, it was slightly wrinkled and I could tell it was from the rush. A stethoscope hanging loosely around her neck. ‎ ‎She looked tired but in all she still put on a kind gesture. ‎ ‎I couldn't tell how long she had been there. It was just like someone turned down the volume of the world. ‎ ‎"Your test results are out, The doctor will see you now ma." ‎ ‎I nodded, standing up to head over to the doctors office, there was this unusual feeling, like I was waking up from a bad dream. ‎ ‎I caught sight of the cleaner who was already doing her job. Pushing the mop over the ceramic tile in a circular motion, slowly wiping off what's left of the man's pain. ‎ ‎Hospitals tiles always have these features: non slip, anti bacterial surface, easy to clean, durable for heavy foot traffic. ‎ ‎She could only erase those blood trails from the tiles but not from my memory. ‎ ‎I pushed myself to concentrate on what the test results would be like. ‎ ‎ ‎"I have good news for you. Ms Sarah, you're pregnant." ‎ ‎This was supposed to be a good news, but this time it hit me hard like a truck. ‎ ‎My vision blurred with hot tears. ‎ ‎Pregnant? How? Why now? ‎
