CATE CAN'T LET THIS girl get away.
Without saying a word to Bev, she jumps out of her seat and crosses over a number of knees until she's out in the aisle, through the double doors, into the parking lot.
The day is sweltering, especially in this skirt suit and nylons. Cate looks for shade, and that's where she finds what she's come here for: Damsel's friend from school, minus the black mist.
This girl's hair is black in a way that looks dyed. Her dress is black with white cuffs and collar, so she looks like Wednesday Addams, and that's not a bad thing. In fact, she's very pretty, in a way that makes her seem different from Damsel's other school friends.
