Chapter 8 SHE RUNS THROUGH THE woods, fast as her feet will take her. There’s already a stitch in her side. A stitch! What a misnomer that is. Feels more like a knife plunged through muscle. Her long legs carry her quickly along the forest path. She leaps over tree roots, graceful as a deer, her long golden hair splashing across the backs of her bare arms. Her breasts aren’t large enough to warrant a bra, but she isn’t used to running for her life. Every time her feet hit the ground, her chest lunges, feeling the weight of gravity before recoiling with the next leap. When she reaches the ridge, she has to stop. No other choice.
