17. Rogue

"When can I leave?" Jared stiffen hearing her soft voice behind him.
"Please.. I need to go back home. Sam would be worried. Uncle Felix and Aunt Marley too.. I can't stay out like this without informing them. They are my guardians her.. and schools too. I need to at least informed them I'm ok" Stacey whisper looking sad. Jared stood clenching his teeth not turning back.
He know if he look at her now. He'll give into her request.. and he can't.
"I've stay out overnight they would be really worried-" he cuts her off.
"Two" Stacey stared at him blinking not catching what he mean. Jared sigh turning back to look at her confused face.
"It's already two days that you're here"
"Two days? No.. it's only last night right.." she say confused.
"The day you woke up here was already a new day. You pass out and slept the whole evening only waking up at noon the next day. So you've been staying here for two days now" Stacey gasp. Her eyes turning wide.
"No.. my phone. Where is it? My dad and Renee would be worried" she stood up from the bed panicking.
"No.. they'll come take me away.. I don't want to go back there.. I can't.. I won't.." she mutters pacing back and forth. Looking frantic. Completely ignoring Jared presence.
"Stacey.. no one is taking you away. You're staying here forever with me.. no one can take you away from me. Neither by force nor will. Not even your family" Jared say possessively holding her shoulder making her stop her frantic pacing.
"No" she shouts "you don't understand.." she whisper.
"Dad would take me back home that was our deal.. if I failed to pick up his call.. then I go back and it's already two days. They must be coming here to take me away" she mutters almost on the verge of tears. Jared sigh gripping her shoulder harder.
Two reasons why she doesn't want to go back home. One.. that's where her miserable life begins. That place holds a whole lot package of her dark life. Two.. she doesn't want to leave this place.. or more a certain someone. To never see him again terrifies her.
"Calm down. Slowly" he rub her arms staring into her eyes. Giving her comfort through the bond. Once he see her calm he speak out.
"Listen here Stacey and listen it carefully. No one and I mean no one. No matter what or who they are. No one is taking you away from me. You're here forever with me. Whether you like it or not.. I'm never letting you go. So no one even your family can take you away from me.. Mine. You're only mine" a low growl sounded from his chest vibrating through his body a whole more lot of possessiveness.
Stacey gulp blinking at him. His possessive words frightens her but she found herself liking it.
"I'm fighting for you. Whoever would be my enemy.. I'm never giving up on you. On us. So.. one day in the future don't give up on us.." he engulf her in his embrace. Sniffing her scent calming his angry wolf.
Even the thought of being apart from her angers him and his wolf. Whoever they may be.. if they come between them. They are his and his wolf enemy. Friends or family's.
"Let's get you wash up and let's talk. Hmm.." he hummed stroking her hair pulling away. She nod backs obediently.

After washing up Stacey wore the dress place for her. He holds her hand guiding her to the dinning hall. Stacey stuck in a blissful euphoric state a smile on her lips. Staring at their intertwine fingers. Loving every little second of their physical touch.
"Good morning Alpha king" Stacey too lost in her own euphoric bliss did not notice the omega greeting. Lost in the feeling the spark was emitting.
Jared nervously glance at Stacey a little behind him. A sigh of relief escape him when she did not notice. An involuntary smile appear on his lips seeing the smile on her face staring at their intertwine fingers. He squeeze their hand making her glance up at him with a more brighter smile.
He shakes his head with a silly grin walking towards the dinning hall. Before that mind linking his beta to evacuate the hallway and the dinning hall. He don't want her to arouse suspension of where she is. Or anything.
"Sara bring in our breakfast as order. Don't forget what I said yesterday" he mind link her. Pulling a chair out for his mate.
"Thank you" she whisper sitting down besides his left while he seats at the top.
A peaceful silent settle between them as they eat. Munching on her pancake she glance up at him gobbling down his pancakes. Looking around the room. Why is a huge dinning table place inside the mansion?
"Every young boys and girls gather here for breakfast and dinner. Like a bonding time. It's served for that purpose.. I assumed you must be wondering about that" he added quickly seeing her surprise look.
"Is this an orphanage? Or something like a care center or an organisation.." she softly ask slowly. Her eyebrows frown.
"Orphanage?" Jared repeats the word. She vigorously nods back innocently her eyes big staring at him.
Jared sigh. He can't blame her. What more can she think of. It is good enough she didn't think they are a religious cult or something weird.
"Not exactly. But more of a pack.. we stay together. Live together. Work together. With a leader appoint to rule them. Lead them. As time pass you'll understand more about it.." he stop not wanting to go further than needed now. Scaring her.
"A pack?" She giggle softly making him frown.
"Like an animal.. you don't have to frame it that way.. oh sorry.." she smile. But instantly apologising for calling them animal.
"I'm sure you have nothing to apologize for. What you said is basically true" he say making her frown this time round.
"Eat up" he continued eating his breakfast.
Stacey frozen face remain still for some seconds processing his words. What he said confused her. Was he agreeing they are animals?
Jared ignore her burning stare continuing eating his breakfast. She hit him on spot. What she said was true. They are werewolves.. so partially they are animals. He doesn't like her apologising for that. In fact he should be. Hiding it from her.
"Alpha King there's a problem at the border on the south. We've spotted some rogue roaming around our border. But they make no attempt to attack so far.. what should we do Alpha King" Hunter mind link him.
"Keep a watch on them. Don't let them get a scoop of anything. Especially the Luna Queen.. That's an order. Protect your Luna Queen information from leaking out.. I'll be there shortly. Till then don't do anything. Keep a close watch" he growl annoyed.
They have started their move. Within no time they would know Stacey information.
The rogue Queen dead is not going to be simple.
"Are you feeling unwell?" Stacey soft concern voice ask besides him. How he just wish to spend time with his mate. Nothing else.
"I'm alright. But I need to leave now for some urgent work.. I'll be back as soon as I can.." he say standing up from his chair. Stacey stare at him parting her lips but no sound escape her parted mouth. Not knowing what to say.
"Stacey don't try anything funny. I'll be back soon. Would you behave well for me?" He hummed stroking her hair leaning towards her.
"We'll talk when I'm back.. I'll clear off your doubts" she nod her head looking down.
"That's my baby.." he gave a light peck on her head.
"You can do anything you want. Just not escaping, not stepping out either. But that's temporary.. please behave ok" he gave her a sharp concern look. He can't risk letting anyone see her or sniff her scent out.
He walks out of the door in large stride. Stacey stare at his back till he disappeared. She sigh. Feeling guilty about what she planned to do. She won't just stay still waiting for him to arrived. He even forbid her to step out. If that isn't imprisonment what would that be.
She hurriedly chew on her pancake trying to finish one whole. Not wanting to be hungry when she escape later. Before she could finish it. Some whispering came towards the dinning hall. Getting closer and closer.
"Hi" a casual calm voice say behind her.
"Care if I join you? Or am I disturbing you?" He continued when she didn't replied back but keep staring at him.
"Huh.. I'm sorry. Please.. I'm already done" she say getting up from her chair. Not wanting to be near a stranger. She was still not comfortable getting closer with anyone.
For a strange reason she was alright being close with Jared. She never felt unwanted or anxious. With a feeling of fear but comfort and protected.
"I'll come back later. I can see you're not done.. you're making me feel bad.." Stacey stop moving glancing at the boy.
"No. It's not.. I'm really done" she say back innocently. Feeling guilty.
"Then join me and have more. Only then would I be comfortable sitting down. I don't want to be known as bullying a beautiful girl" Stacey bite her lower lips. She really don't want to be near a stranger. It always put her in an uneasy alert mode.
She sits back down making him smile. A sweet charming smile one that makes a person feels warm and comfortable. With a light brown hair and amber eyes.
"I'm Howard.. aren't you a late bird" he introduced casually like they were long time friend. Stacey blush.
"Stacey.." she introduced back trying to be polite. He nod back with a smile filling his plate.
"Don't tell me you couldn't even finish that one piece?" He say staring at her half eaten pancake.
"I wasn't hungry.." she say telling a perfect lie through her lips. But her stomach prefer to be honest. Growling at the same time.
"I don't think it agree with that.. maybe it can still handle some more" he say chuckling making her flustered red.
"I think I'm hungry after all" she say back making him chuckle harder.
"Stacey your quite interesting.. I'm glad I got to meet you before everyone. Everyone was anticipating on meeting you.." he say unconsciously refering to the others.
"Meeting me? But why?" She frown pointing at herself. She couldn't guess what he mean by everyone.
"They would be here soon.. you should eat before they get.. oh they're here" he say grinning at her again.
"Howard? Where are you?" a pregnant lady enters the room her hand on her baby bump. Shouting calling out to Howard. Standing still staring at them. Blinking her eyes.
"Oh you must be the Luna Queen.." she exclaimed happily. Rushing towards her.
"No.. I'm not. I'm Stacey not Luna Queen. Even though that's a really weird name" she say staring at her. Getting tired how they keep mistaking her as someone else. Who have such a weird funny name.
"Beta Female our Luna Queen is a human. If you have forgotten that.. Jared would eat your head if you spill out anything. Not even your beta mate can save you" Howard mind link Amber. Who cough awkwardly hearing Jared name. That man sure is merciless.
"Hi.. I'm Amber. Pleasing meeting you" she smile sitting on the opposite side of the chair. On the beta female seat. But Stacey have no clue she was seated on the Luna Queen chair. With Jared on top the Alpha King chair.
"Stacey.." she nod introducing herself again. Clenching her hand tightly.
"Get here quickly Melinda, Lina. If you want to meet your Luna Queen. She's in the dinning hall now. And Alpha King is not around.." Amber immediately mind link them.
"The Alpha King is currently checking up the border. We've spotted some rogue around. He won't be here any time soon.." Lina link back shifting into her wolf.
"I'll be there asap. Amber by any means keep her rooted there.. I'm meeting my sister in law officially" Melinda say shifting into her wolf running towards the castle.
"You did not.." Howard shakes his head sighing. Amber shrug her shoulder innocently. If Jared knows they are meeting his mate behind his back, despite his order he'll roast them all.
