Despidida Party

TODAY IS a perfect day to have a picnic at the beach. 

The weather is a bit cloudy, but still you could see Mr. Sun. And today's my last day here in island, tommorrow I will be going back to mainland. 

Finally after a week the road has been cleared and there are already boats available for transporting people to the mainland. 

"Hey, why won't you join at them?" -Caroline.

"It's okay, besides I've prefer to be alone."

"Why? Is there something wrong?" She ask worriedly.

I shake my head. "No, I'm fine. I'm enjoying the view from here. I would join them if I got bored sitting here."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah.. I know you want to join them, don't mind me. I'm really fine in here," I assured her using my smile.

She get up from the sun lounger and walks towards the water where Clarrette and some of her friends are having fun. Kelsie is also there playing with them. Some of the female divers that I meet the other day are busy in making some grilled seafoods, while the middle-aged men that are friends of Caroline are busy preparing a table that needed for our boodle fight. It is where all the foods are being put together in a banana leaves that is being put in a long table. And we're gonna eat using our bare hands.

I'm so touch by their thoughtfulness. I didn't know that Caroline prepared a lot for my despidida party. Yesterday when I told her that I'm going back in the mainland, she said that before I would leave I will have simple despidida party. I thought when she said that it's just me, Aeonne, Clarrette and her will be having a simple dinner or brunch inside a cabin. Who would've thought that she will invite mostly all the people in the village. I will surely miss them even though I've been with them in a short period of time. 

I was snap from my deep thoughts when I felt a water dripping in my face. I turn to my right side and there I saw Kelsie smirking at me while holding a water g*n.

"What the!" I feel that someone shoot me again. This time my whole body got wet because it's not only a single person who shoots me a water g*n, but also Clarrette and some of the boys are already hidding at the back of the sun lounger where I laid down earlier.

"Incoming!" They all shouted and aim at me their water g*n. Before they would able to shoot me I run far away from them. But hell these people are like rabbits they're so fast at running. That leave me with my only choice. I ran towards the two people who's busy talking. I grab the hand of the man and pulls him towards me and use him as my human shield.

"Uh-oh!" I heard them gasp when the man in front of me got wet. And it looks like they saw medusa they didn't even move an inch.

"We're so dead,"

I heard the other man chuckled at the man who's already soaking wet. "Hahahaha, man look at you! You're so wet!" He laughs and he winks at me.

"Damn!" He curse.

His voice sounds familiar. And when he turns around me with knitted eyebrows. Uh-oh I'm dead. I gulped upon seeing his face serious face.

"Uh..sorry.." I said and showing him a peace sign.

But he just stared at me and he starts to walk towards my direction. Everytime he makes a step forward I am also taking a step backward until my feet touches the water. I was being caught by him. I could hear the beating of my heart. I don't know maybe because of too much nervousness or maybe I was afraid that he will shout at me. He grips both of my arms.

"I'm sorry, I didn't intend to make you wet." I said while biting my lips. He move his face a little bit closer. One wrong move and our lips would touch. I can smell his minty breath. As he move his face towards my ear.

"Hmm? You smell so good. What will you now that I'm effin wet?"

I was so speechless. I don't know what to say, I just stared at him with my mouth wide open. It looks like there's a deep meaning in what he said.

"I..uh...err-"

Before I could utter a word he already carried me. And in a snap I am being thrown in the water. I got a bad landing. I grimace because my butt hurts. I glared at him but to my surprise he laughs at me. I blink twice to make sure I'm not seeing things.

When I've calm down from my shock I get up. But hell my butt really hurts. That brute is still laughing at my situation. I take that chance to advance at him. 

"Damn! That hurts as fudge! You shameless prick!" I was about to throw a punch at him but he dodge it and runs toward south. 

The other guys also got shocked of what Aeonne did to me but when they recovered from it. They also join me in chasing Aeonne. And from chasing Aeonne we divide the group into two and the group who have an 'it' member will do the chasing.

Our chasing game only ended when Caroline called us that it's time for lunch. We all gathered in a long table and after Caroline said the grace, we all eat our lunch.

WE ARE gathered around the bonfire me, Kelsie, Clarrette, Aeonne and their other acquaintances. They are happily singing some local songs which I also enjoyed.

"Hey, are you gonna be back to mainland for real?" Kelsie ask me.

"Yeah.. Even though I enjoyed it here, I must go back there. I'm pretty sure my family keeps on looking for me,"

"But you will visit here again right?"

"I can't promise you that, but when my schedule is not that tight, I will visit you here." I said.

"Okay.. I will hold on to what you just said."

"Sam?"

"Hmm?"

"Did you perhaps feel happy?" Kelsie ask out of the blue.

"Why did you ask?"

"Uh..nothing, it's just that I was wondering if you're having a fun in chasing game,"

"I shouldn't feel that,"

"Why you said that?"

"It's just that everytime I'm too happy, the next moment something really bad will happen."

"You know it's just in your head. Don't stress about it." She said at me. And she then stand in front of the fire, she claps her hand to get our attention.

"Attention every one!"

Everyone stops from singing.

"Since Sam will leave the island, why won't we do something memorable so that Sam can't easily forget?"

"Yeah! Count me in Kels! I'm a sucker of fun!" The guy they called Damian shouted.

And they decided to have a little fun while enjoying a night at the shore.

"Okay guys so here's the game. Are you familiar with the game "I have never ever" with a twist. Instead of drinking a shot, the consequence of a person who already did what the other person said. He/she will take a dip in the water. And if no one did what the other person said, the person who said that word or sentence will going to drink ampalaya juice!." Kelsie announced. "Let's start with Aeonne,"

"I never ever have dated anyone."

After he said that almost all of their acquaintances take a dip in the water. 

"I never ever have failed my exams," Kelsie said.

No ones go to have a dip in the water so as a consequence, Kelsie drink the ampalaya juice.

"Ew! It taste horrible," she said.

We just laugh at her and we continue playing that game. I look around and I see that almost half of us are already soaking wet because of the consequences. When it is my turn I take a last glance at them and think the usual thing that could make them again dip into the water.

"I never ever have a lied to someone,"

They all groans except for Aeonne who is calmly looking at the fire.

They all rush into the fire after they take a dip.

"Woah! I'm so cold!" Kelsie said as she rub both of her hands to produce a heat.

Boom!
