Chapter 15 - The Surprise

    When he say that word while hugging me so closely, it make my heart run wild. I think he can feel my heart beats as I can feel his. He is also in the same condition as me. I clear my throat. "Umm.. Niel.. I.. I think you can let me go now.. " I heard him exhales slowly and then he pull away. He give me a wary smile. "You should get ready for dinner. I think it will be ready any minutes now." I nod. As I am leaving, I look at him. "Niel, can I ask you one question, please?" He nod. "Well, why is the room of us is adjoining rooms?" He look at me confusedly and then laugh out loud. "Hahaha. Lica, you shouldn't ask that question, you know?" His mischievous look with that sexy grin make me purr inside. I know he is teasing me.  I look away from him so he wouldn't see my blushed face. "Niel, I don't know what you thinking right now, but I am locking the door. Naughty guy." As I run upstairs, I can hear him screaming with laughter. "Better do that, Lica. If you don't, I don't know what I'll do. Hahaha."

    I take a look of this room again. It's so spacious and comfortable. I love the fact that it has it's own bathroom attached to it. I can't imagine walking around half naked. I feel so happy and I starting to move my stuffs from the luggage. As i arranging my stuffs from the last luggage, I noticed an envelope that I am unfamiliar with. It's a bit crumple but it seem new. Somehow, it make me feel uncomfortable. What is this? Why i feel this way? I slowly open the envelope. I see that there is two tickets in there. I read it carefully and I figure that the tickets are to WSE concert. WSE is my favorite underground band. Their concert tickets had been sold out when I want to buy it so I am so disappoint before. The concert is in the next two days.  I'm stoked. Is this a surprise from him? When I think it that way, it make me feel super excited.. How the f**k he know about this? Did Amber told him? I head to shower and get ready for dinner eagerly. When I am ready and we both at the dining hall, I look at him and smile. "Thank you, Niel. That gift is so thoughtful." He look at me with puzzle expression plastered on his face. " Gift?" I just smile. Seriously, he want to play dumb, "I know I said I hate surprises but I would never hate this." When he continue his confused look, I feel a bit bum but I just smile. Maybe he want to make me pretend I don't know about it. "Okay. I get it. I'm sorry but I am way too excited. Can't wait for it. Let's eat, okay?" He give me a warm smile and nod. The dinner when great and we talk and talk about each other. I feel like I get to know him better. After the dinner, I excuse myself to go bed early because I am exhausted. While sleeping on that comfortable bed, I keep making plans for the concert. 

    The next day, I go down to have breakfast with him but his maid, Rose tell me that he went out early for meetings. I feel a tinge of sadness. "Is he always like that, Rose?" The maid give me a nod. "He is always like that, Miss Angie. Sometimes he doesn't even take his breakfast. We always prepare coffee for him, though." I nod. I see. That's mean he is not eating healthy. Maybe I can help a bit to improve his habit? Breakfast is important. I left out a sigh and Rose look at me. "Don't be sad, Ms. Angie. He is always like that. Work is important for him. Especially after his mom death. Don't be sad, okay?" His mom died? What? When? Why I never heard of her? I look at Rose. "His mom died? When?" Rose look at me confusedly. "You don't know Miss Angie? His mom died two years ago because of.." It get cut off when Adrian appear out of nowhere. "Rose, stop that. You may be dismissed, Rose." With a worry look, she nod and leave me and Adrian in the dining hall. This is frustrating. I look at Adrian, "Adrian, what is that all about? She just want to tell me about Daniel story, that's all." Adrian bow to me and look at me politely. "I deeply apologize if you find it disturbing. However, I believe it is Mr. Daniel private stuffs and if he want you to know about this, he will let you know himself. We don't take lightly of the action talking about Mr. Daniel life.  Please excuse me. I need to continue my work." He walk away before I can argue with him. Man, he's cold. 

    I shrugged myself and get myself ready for my classes. I would love to meet Amber. I miss her so much. When I finish, I found my driver, Mr. Saint  is waiting for me to bring me to my university. Along the drive, I get to know him and he talked about how Daniel is kind enough to let him go to attend to his dying wife and kinder to him when he hire him again to be my driver. I heard a lot of nice things about Daniel but when I ask about his parents, Saint quickly change the subject. I am not stupid. I can see that. What is this about Daniel parents that everyone doesn't want to talk about this? I just shake that curiosity off when I arrived at my university. It's embarrassing for me when everyone look at me shockingly. Guess no one expected me to come with a driver? I quickly go to my usual place and as expected, I see Amber.

    I run towards her while shouting her name. "Amber!" Amber just giggling and we hug. Oh my god! I miss this girl and it's only like two days without meeting my SBC. I can feel that she feel the same by the look on her face. We sit down on the bench. "So, Angie. How's staying with Daniel? Everything went well?" I nod. "He give me this big room with this big cupboard, big fluffy bed and nice view. Owh, it also have attached bathroom! It's like my own hotel room." Amber just laugh out loud. "I'm glad you like it, Angie. I am a bit worry about you moving in with him you know? I mean his reputation and stuffs. However, he told me what happen at The Rut House and he said he will protect you from that sicko. It's my fault he bring you to that place anyway." She look at me guiltily and I just shake my head to assure her that I'm not blaming her for that incident. 

    She sniffed. " He also said that you prefer it that way. It make me a bit sad when I heard him saying that though because I feel like you don't want to stay together with me." I shake my head guiltily. I should tell her about this myself. "No, Am. I love to stay together with you. Can't you see how much I miss you already?" she chuckled. "It just that I don't want to be staying together with you and Ab. You want to know why, babe?" She nod and look at me intensely. I chuckled. "Because I want to let you have your alone time with you baby boo. I know you and him need that. Plus.." I roll my eyes. "I don't plan to listen to you guys making out or having sex." She look at me with wide eyes and pinch my arm before we laugh it out together. "Stupid, Angie. It's not like we are that noisy. Hahaha." I tickled her. "Well, now you can be as loud as you want. Hahaha." As we laughing to each other hysterically, I notice the peoples are looking at us but who cares?

    After we cool down and stop laughing, we talk about a bit more about my experiences yesterday and we get ourselves a good laugh. Once I finish, she look at me like she thinking something. "Call me crazy, but somehow you look like you're.." She stop abruptly. I look at her. "Look like I'm what, babe?" She suddenly shake her head and give me a wary smile. "Nothing, babe. Forget it." I feel curious but I don't want to push it.  As I look at her, I remember that I plan to thank her for the WSE thing. "Am, I want to thank you for telling Niel my favorite band. I hate surprises but this surprise are too amazing for me to be mad about. Can you imagine he got me two tickets to the WSE concert? It's gonna be fun." Amber look at me with confused look. "I never tell him about that, Angie. I don't even think I told Ab about that. Are you sure he heard it from me?" This is weird. Then, where he find out about this. "Maybe you accidentally said it? You know you can be talkative when you drinks some wines. Hahaha." Amber look at me and let out a chuckle. "Well, maybe you're right. Hahaha." I look at the watch and realize the class will begin soon and me and Amber run together to the class.

    As me and Amber finish our last class, we went to our faculty cafeteria. We just finishing up our coffees when I can see Ab arriving in his red Mercedes. I said hello to Ab and vice versa. As he is picking Am bag,  Am turn around to look at me. "Do you want us to give you a ride? Hey, how did you come this morning? I know you can't drive and his house is.." Am abruptly stop her words as he see Saint approach me. He exchange hello with Ab and bow to Amber. Amber give me a curious look. "Well, you see.. Niel.. He had arrange Mr. Saint here to be my driver since he know my.. situation.." Once she heard that, I can see her expression change brighter and she is grinning. "Well, he is prepared, I give him that."She wink at me mischievously. She misunderstand it? Before I can even explain to her, she hug me tightly. "Well, it's good of him. Take care of yourself. Our houses are not that far so just ring me up if you need me, okay babe? I love you, sis." I hug her back. "I will. I love you too, sis." Ab just laugh at us. "Come on. It's not like you guys ain't seeing each other anymore. Geez. No wonder peoples call you guys twin." We laugh and we bid farewell to each other. 

    As we reaching the Moon Villa, I am so excited to meet Daniel and talk about the plans tomorrow. I know it suppose to be a surprise right but if we going together, we need to coordinate for it together. As I reach the home and Adrian open the door, I anxiously look for him. "Adrian, where is Niel?" Adrian give me a polite smile. "Hi, Ms. Angie. Welcome home. Mr. Daniel is in his room. He's.." I just run upstairs to Daniel room without listen Adrian to finish himself. Why I feel super excited to see him? It almost like.. Almost like.. I miss him. Wait, what?! No. It must be because of this concert. When I reach in front of his room, I knock at his door. "Come in, Lica! You don't have to knock. Just come in next time." When I get into his room, I realize he is packing his clothes. That's weird. He stop doing what he's doing and look at me with a smile. "How's your day, Lica?". I reciprocated with a smile. "It was good. How about yours, Niel? Good?" He nod. "Yes, it was good. I'm glad to hear your day went well. Please wait for a minute until I finish packing." I look at him warily. "Packing? Are you going somewhere?" He nod while resuming his packing. "Yes, I am going to go for a business trip tomorrow morning. The meeting is on the next day but I like to check in one day earlier to be prepare. It's always good to come to meeting fully prepared."

    I'm shock. What? He is going for that tomorrow morning? But tomorrow night is the concert. I feel so overwhelmed that I don't realize that there is tears rolling on my cheek. Daniel look at me with worried face and run towards me. He hold me by my arms and look at me. "Lica, are you okay, honey? What happen? Why are you crying, milady?" I shake my head and try to stifle my cry and stop my tears. I try to loosened my arms from his grip but failed. "Lica? Baby, tell me what's wrong, please."I look at his worried look. "Why you give me that f*****g surprises if you are heading to business trip tomorrow? If I am going there alone, why on earth you buy two tickets?" Suddenly, I feel my heart filled with anger and I just shout at him. Is this his plan all along? "Is this the real surprise? Are you trying to make fun of me? To see if I become this mess? Are you happy now? Let me go, asshole." As I squirming to get his grip off me, he pulled me to his embrace. "Lica, what are you talking about? I don't understand what's going on. Can you explain to me, baby? I never want to see you cry like this."I snap. "Liar. You are a liar, Daniel! What do you expect going to happen when you do this to me? I will be happy? Thank you for this shitty surprises! I'm touch! Now, let me go! I'm leaving this house! Let me go or I swear to god I'll scream the s**t out of me!"
