Chapter 13 - Shopping

    When I agree on his request to buy me stuffs, I don't even expect him to bring to the Soul House. Soul House is the most expensive boutique in town. It is supposedly own by a designer that own the collections, The Soul. I am not gonna spend that much money on me myself. I sigh. I look at him and whispered at him."Neil, I don't think I want to buy anything from here. It's f*****g expensive. Let's go to my usual store, Queenish Store. It is more affordable there. Let's go, okay?". As I finish the sentences, I can hear the boutique assistant snickered and I see she is smirking. What the hell? I think Neil figure it out as he look towards the sales assistant direction in serious look. I think she recognize him as she suddenly change her facial expression and approaching us to attending us. Such a fake. 

    He return his eyes on me and offer me a grin. "I told you, Lica. No need to worry about money. Just go and pick any of the clothes that you want. Don't worry about the price, okay? It will be who paying it." He send me off to find the clothes that I like but I can hear him telling the sales assistant to get him some good dresses for me. Dresses too? I go around the store to look for a cheapest shirt. I spotted a white plain t-shirt. I think this will be my choice. When I am looking at that t-shirt, the sales assistant approach me with a smile. "That white t-shirt will complement your skin tone well. You can style it up with denim jacket or some jewelry." I reply her smile with a smirk and calm voice."Is that so? How much is this piece will cost me?". She give a wider smile. "You are lucky, miss. This shirt original price is $600 but it have 50% discount so that mean it will cost you only 300 dollars. Do you want it?" I can feel my jaw dropped as I am so shock with the price. What the hell? "Thi..This shirt will cost me $300? A plain white shirt? You got to be kidding me." The sales girls look at me skeptically and talk to me in cold tone. "It is made from a high quality material. It is not the same as the shirt from a cheap store, miss. Trust me, $300 bucks is the cheapest piece you can find in this store. If you can't afford it, why are you even here? With that guy. Daniel Moon nevertheless?" She rolled her eyes and I can feel anger build up in my heart. Right before I give the girl a piece of my mind, I can feel someone pull me from the side and it's Daniel. Did he overheard us?

    The sales assistant quickly show her warm smile but Niel only look at it with bemused face. Oh s**t, he heard that. Quickly, he move his grip from my arm to my hand. "I don't know that a sales assistant can be rude to the customers? I had known the owner of this shop, Soul Shadow for quite some times and I know he wouldn't tolerate it if he found out how you behave with your customers." The face of the woman is like she just see a ghost. I know she is rude but seeing her that way, I feel sorry to her."Niel, it's okay. She just telling me the truth. I can't afford it. I told you so." I fake a smile to cool him down. He growl at me."Listen, Lica. Who say you can't afford it? You afford it because my money is your money too. If she is rude towards you, do you think I will buy even a single piece from this shop? Hell no. If she disrespecting you, that mean she disrespecting you too." He turn his attention to the sales team. "It's such a shame that Soul hired someone like you. I will make sure he find out about your "performance"." The sales assistant started to tear up and continuously apologize but before I can say something, Niel already dragged me out of the store.

    "Niel, slow down. I can't catch up with you."Ouch, I hit something and that something is his body. He bring me to the chairs to sit down."I am sorry." I'm confused. Sorry for what? Sorry for walking too fast? I glance at him and smile. "Don't be sorry. It's not your fault. I am always a bit too slow compare to other peoples. I'm sorry for that, okay?". He pull my face to look at him. I can feel my cheeks burns. " It is not about that but I am sorry okay. You are not slow. It's me who walking too fast. However, the apology earlier is not for that. It's for what happen in the boutique. I am sorry for not been there fast enough to protect you from that b***h acting so rude to you. I'm sorry." He look so guilty. I shake my head and smile. This is what you worry for? "Dummy..

    "Niel, don't worry. I am not upset. What she said in there was not wrong. I don't think I can afford it too. So, don't worry okay?"He glared at me intensely."You afford it Lica. You can grab everything in there because I told you I am gonna pay for it. The only reason why you face that kind of insult is because you are being nice and polite by trying to find the cheapest cloth in there when I told you that you don't need to even look at the price tag left alone worry about it. You are too nice, Lica. I give you a chance to rip me off and you just turn it down."I dumbfounded. He knew that? Seeing his dark face really make my heart and head hurt simultaneously. I need to fix it. I cleared my throat and offer him a smile. "Okay, you got me. However, it's not because of I don't want to take your offer to buy me stuffs. I agree with your request and I will fulfill it. It just that.." He look at me intensely.. I make a frown. "It just that it is too expensive and doesn't worth it. Can you imagine that a white plain shirt like that going to cost me $300 even after discounts? That plain and boring shirt? Hell no. With that kind of money, I can get more like five shirts from Queenish Store. Quality? Give me a break. Queenish Store place designs are great and the prices are cheaper too."

    Niel let out a big laugh after he see me shaking my head while uttering the words. It make me feel good to see him smiling again. "So, you just want to look for a good bargain is it?" I nodded. "Very wise, Lica. However, I will not say that stuffs in front of Ab and Amber you know." I look at him that trying to calm himself curiously. "Why is that, Neil?". He look at me with a wink. "Because it is Ab brother store." What the f**k? Once again, I'm dumbfounded. It's good warning though. I don't want to offend Ab or Am in anyway. "Thank you for the heads up, Niel. I will be very careful." He look at me while nodding. Clearing his throat, "Well, shall we get going to this Queenish Store? We need to get you some new dresses per agreed." I nod eagerly and we head up to Queenish Store. My favorite store,

    After fifteen minutes drive, we finally arrive at Queenish Store. We are welcome with warm greets and I can see Daniel is happy with that. As he settle down at the waiting sofa, I quickly go up to the various sections to find and picking up the new designs at the store and test the shirts and dresses while Niel look at me happily. "How's this? It's cute right?" I asked eagerly. "Yes, it is. It's actually look good on you." I laugh at his comment. "It's also way cheaper that $300 shirt." He laughed. The day go on. At the end of that day, I found myself with five shirts, three dresses and two new pants. As we look at the receipt, me and Niel both laugh at the fact the prices for all of that is less that three hundreds bucks. "See, I get dresses and it still cost us less." He winked at me."Yes, milady. You are good in saving money and pamper yourself. I would say I'm impressed." Milady? That's make my heart  race. Why?

    I force myself to remain calm and to my surprise. It's working. "Well, now the shopping is settle. I don't plan to buy any toiletries now."I can see he burrowed his brow. "I don't want to waste the remaining, Niel. I don't like that. Let me wear them until the last drop please. Sometimes, you need to meet me in the middle. This is my style. Take it or leave it." He sigh. I think he understand that I am serious on this. "Okay, Lica. I never see a woman so eager to avoid to go to shopping but yeah. Okay. We will go shopping for it when you finish all your toiletries. I can do that." I give him a big warm smile and a wink. " Oh, Daniel, you just getting started to understand I am not like the girls you have met before."

    He look at me mischievously. "Really? Well, I can't wait to see more of it. It will be fun." He make me blush. Well, two can play the game. "Well, maybe you will see it soon." I wink and I can see his surprised look. "Well, now that settle, where are we heading next?". He give me a big smile. "We will heading to the Moon Villa. Our house."
