Bennett was silent on the ride back to base. He was upset over Savannah’s decision, thought he knew it was coming. It wasn’t going to stop him. They were meant to be together. He just had to prove it to her. His teammates eyed him with pity. He didn’t care. As soon as they made it to the base, he was going back for her. He wasn’t going to give her up without a fight. He saw how hard she struggled to tell him she felt nothing for him and she was meant to be here. She was wrong. She was only here so that he could meet her and bring her home. She belonged with him.
