Chapter 31 Nothing happened. The first second stretched into two, then four, six, more… Nova’s eyesight slowly returned, and once she could see she had to fight down another wave of hysterical laughter. The room was empty! There was no one there! Well, not quite no one, she realised. There was one person — her. The lights must have come on in reaction to her entering the room, despite her unconventional point of entry. She stood and looked around the room. A dozen tables and their chairs took up about three quarters of the room.
