Chapter 38
The captain sat back in his chair, thinking through the recent battle and the loss of so many of his fellow Gifted. He had been ready to sacrifice his corvette and his life. Everyone aboard had but it hadn’t been deemed necessary. The group consciousness of the surviving Gifted had decided there was no value in remaining any longer. Spreading details of the Wanderer’s location and the company it was keeping took priority.
A basic message had gone out indicating they had encountered the Wanderer and very roughly where, but without greater numbers of the Gifted they’d been unable to send more. Now they sought to join a larger group so they could send the crucial details.
