Chapter 20 Five jumps later and Jess still had no idea where they were going. Each of the jumps had been relatively short, the longest a little over an hour and the shortest just fifteen minutes. The directions seemed almost random. Without the Wanderer’s sensors Jess might have assumed the short jumps were pointless, were meant to confuse the fleet, but that wasn’t the case. Jump space in the area had some fairly intense disruption but it was very localised. The jumps were allowing the fleet to find its way through that distortion without damage or risk.
