Chapter 21
“No!” Jess shouted over the comm channel. “I’ll take them. They can come to the Wanderer.”
The only response he received was one of the combat ships, the Ironskin, lashing out and destroying a shuttle. Anger surged through Jess. He sent the Wanderer into jump space, emerging moments later almost on top of the Ironskin and absorbing several shots meant for more of the shuttles.
The Ironskin was a corvette-sized pirate ship, its shields and weapons registering as being roughly equivalent with the Imperial corvettes to which it was so similar. It was nowhere near a match for the Wanderer.
Jess had the Wanderer’s shields at full strength and its weapons charged and targeted at the Ironskin. He was aware of other ships closing on other shuttles but he couldn’t do anything a
