Evelyn edged to the back of the classroom, her head buried in her palm as she tried to fight off the anxiety. The results of the exam would be revealed tomorrow, she wasn't sure how she felt about it. It was good news, in the sense that she didn't have to wait long enough to determine her fate, but she also felt immense pressure and most of all, fear.
" What would Maya do in this situation, " She frantically whispered to herself as she drew out her phone. She hastily picked up her dinging phone, and immediately she was done listening to Maya, her countenance fell.
" f**k, " She said in a low, frustrated tone. recording popped up and Evelyn played it.
" What did you do now? " Evelyn whispered to herself as she staggered up to her feet.
Evelyn turned around to see Alexa making her way out of the classroom. After their last confrontation, Evelyn was hopeful that Alexa would silently drift by without a word, but no, that wasn't the case. Alexa had come to a stop directly in front of her. Evelyn was face to face with Alexa's quivering eyeballs. Her lips were slightly bitten, her breath loud enough for Evelyn to hear. Evelyn felt sorry, she knew what she said was gravely upsetting. She would do anything to get Alexa out of her face.

" Look, about what I said__
" See you at the headquarters, Evie. " Alexa retorted with a smile as she walked by Evelyn.
Evelyn arched a brow, " Evie? oh right, I called you Lexy and you gave me a nickname. " Evelyn nodded, " You're already gone and I'm talking to myself. "
Just then the bald girl walked out, " Evelyn! you're Evelyn Parker, right? "
Evelyn was surprised she knew her name, " Yes, and you are? "
" Tam. "
Evelyn nodded, " Tam... I'm sorry, I've never really caught your name, or who you are... " Now closer to Tam Evelyn realized that she had a really big nose.
" Oh... "
Evelyn realized that the information she gave Tam was unnecessary, " I'm sorry... I meant__
" It's okay, I understand. "
" So, " Evelyn was running out of options to keep the conversation going.
" I was wondering if__
Evelyn's phone rang interfering with whatever Tam was about to say. She was glad that it did, taking a glance at the caller and it was Maya. Evelyn found herself realizing that Maya had once again rescued her from a sticky situation.
" I'm sorry, I have to take this. " Evelyn gestured at her phone as she gradually leaped away in the oops direction.
" It's okay, I guess I'll see you around. " Tam replied as she exited.

Evelyn strolled further as she answered the call. " You won't believe what just happened. " Evelyn began, " You just saved my ass girl! "
Maya was breathing heavily and Evelyn could hear it, " Hey, you okay? " Evelyn had to ask.
" I told you I was f****d, how would I be okay? " Maya asked in a frightened tone.
" What did you do? " Evelyn prolonged.
" You were right about Gabriel knowing something... he knows. " Maya's voice was steady suddenly.
" Wait, did something happen?
" He fixed a date tomorrow, said if I value the relationship, I would show up and explain what was happening. "
" Explain? but I thought you said he already knows. " Evelyn made a stop at the extremely large glass windows as she viewed the surroundings below, " Why does he need an explanation? "
Maya took a deep breath, " He doesn't know exactly what's going on but he knows I'm up to something. "
" What are you going to do? I don't suppose you can come up with something. "
" I... I can't. "
" So you'll have to tell him the truth, right? "
" I can't. "
Evelyn arched a brow as she stared at her phone before placing it back on her ears, " Say what now? "
" Evelyn I can't tell him. "
Evelyn's attention drifted from Maya when she spotted two men approaching a car downstairs. She'd placed her concentration on hold, she instantly recognized the man at the front, it was Danny. A cheapish smile surfaced on her face as she extended her gaze to him. That smile would be wiped away when the second man came to view.
Evelyn was violently pulled from her delusions, she gasped loudly as she staggered to the side. There was a familiar Knowledge of the strange man up front, and just by looking at him, she felt a wave of deja vu. His height, the line that drew from the back of his neck down to his waistline. The icing to the cake was when he casually turned around and she spotted the scar on his forehead.
" No way! "
Evelyn was startled as she adjusted her stance, she bent lower to hopefully conceal herself while exposing just enough to still monitor the situation. She'd watch Danny and the man converse before Danny eventually opened the door for the man.
" Wait a f*****g second, " Evelyn was talking to herself again, " That man is Danny's boss, Danny's boss is also my boss. Which means! " She gasped at the realization, " He's my boss, s**t! "
Evelyn peered closely as they both got into the car, and soon after Gabriel joined them. To top it all off, the car they all entered was the same as that night. It was the same car she saw in the morning.
" No, this can't be, " Evelyn was panicking as she watched the car zoom off. " He can't be my... my boss. "
Thinking about how that fateful night ended was one she wasn't proud of. She had kicked him in the guts right after she damaged his car and now it turned out that he was her boss? She had just taken her promotion exam and now this happens? what was she to do now?
" Maya! " Evelyn frantically screamed to her phone, but she realized that Maya had already hung up. She was probably sick of listening to her pout about something else.

Evelyn stood still for a few minutes as she tried to calm herself. But it didn't work, instead, she was laced with the opposite. Her problems all launched at her, at once and with full effect. Her boss now discovered to be a man she attacked, insulted, and damaged his car. The possible results that would be achieved once her identity was known was trivial. The risks that would be involved too, the years of hard work and sacrifices might all be in vain. Evelyn's minute of silence was a complete failure, her insides were about to explode.
" s**t! " She yelled dashing away in search of her trustee, her confidante, her best friend, Maya Lang.
