Chapter 1: Just the beginning to a new life.
I’m Lyla daughter to the Alpha Male Keith and Luna Bell our pack is not a normal one. We take in omegas that have been casted out and let them call this place home. Our pack lives in a beautiful forest just beyond the Great Mountains of the eastern pack’s territory. Something was different today. Something horrible was about to be released upon our wonderful pack. That something was going to change our packs ways forever.
Howling made mom and dad shift and run towards the deep woods. The pack started to run scared as if something is happening. I do not have my wolf form yet so I cannot search fast enough to find my mom and dad. “Mom! Dad!,” I yelled to the top of my lungs. “Where are you?!” Pack members shifted so fast and easily they were swiftly running past me with the fear in their wolves eyes. My mom found me at last. “You need to run Lyla!” She yelled with much fear in her voice. “Run towards the Great Mountains and protect the pack!” She turned to run into the forest but I snatched her before she could. “What is going on?! I’m scared!” I said with tears running down my face. Luna bell looked at me with tears in her eyes. The sadness she was feeling I could feel it deep within me. She told me “Rouge packs” as she did fear over took me. “Where is dad?!” I proclaimed. “Fighting to protect his Luna, daughter and pack..” Mom said this with tears rolling down her face as if they were rivers of sadness. “I will go and help!” I yelled as I ran towards the deepest part of the woods. Mom stopped me “You can not help you have no training and no wolf yet!” She said with much authority as she is the Luna after all. “Run to the mountains. Help anyone you see struggling on the way. That’s how you help me and your father.” She runs off into the deepest part of the woods. She yelled. “I love you my daughter be the great leader you know you can be!” Stunned, scared, and alone I drop to my knees and weeped. I knew what this meant for mom and dad. They were not returning. I didn’t even get to say goodbye..
A pack member jerked me onto my feet. “Run! They are coming Lyla!” They yelled at me with fear and worry. I jump up stumbling to my feet. I began to run towards the Great mountain. I turned around to look behind me. Three large wolves charged towards me and my pack member. I run with the will to live and be the leader my pack needs. Suddenly I hear a commotion. “Dad!” I yelled as I saw him fight with the three wolves. Relief filled me. Dad was half the size of these wolves but more agile than them. “Run Lyla! You need to run! I cannot hold them off for long!” Dad yelled as he was fighting these wolves. “Listen to the wolf inside you! That is how you will help this pack survive!” He said before death came for him. “This was your alpha?” The rouge wolf said with a raspy deep voice. “Your alpha was nothing more than a little bat flying around my head.” He said chuckling. His stature was large scars all over his body as if he was in many battles. Only one eye and still was able to catch my dad. This wolf was insane! His comrades were killed by my father and he had no sadness within him. “What do you want from us..? Why are you doing this..?” I said shakily. He could tell I was afraid because a grin slid upon his face. “We are the wolves from the western desert. Killing and taking over other packs lands is just something we do for fun.” A roar of laughter came out of him. My pack member that helped me began to shake with anger. He ran towards the rouge wolf biting his throat. Mother came dashing from the woods jumping on his back. She bit him snapping his spine into pieces. The rouge roared in pain. He grabbed mom’s leg slamming her into the ground. The force behind his slam k*lled her instantly. As for my pack member that was latched onto his throat was clawed up before the rouge fell over paralyzed. I run up to my mom grabbed her shaking her yelling “Please wake up! I just lost dad I can’t lose you too!” Tears rolled down my face. I scream. I hug her lifeless body to me. “I will always love you mom..” I whispered. I layed her body down I ran over to the pack member to see if he was ok. He was still breathing but badly hurt. My mom told me once of a herb that was at the base of the mountain that can heal someone from the edge of death. I knew I had to hurry. His large body was heavy to carry. In this state I would not be able to run. So I moved swiftly and quietly through the woods to not be detected.
Nightfall came and left I was exhausted. I put him down by a steam to get a drink of water. I cup my hands to pick up some water so he could have some. He drank it which is a good sign. I sit there for a little so I could rest and regain my energy. “Why did this happen..?” I ask myself. I began to cry profusely. The pack member groaned. I stopped crying, wiped my tears, and went over to him to see if he was ok. His wounds have healed a little bit I forget that when you have your wolf you heal faster. “Are you alright?” I asked softly. He just groans again. “We are going to keep going I know of a herb that can heal you completely.” No response he just passed out again. I pick him up and continued on my journey with him.
Nightfall came and left. We are almost to the mountains. I sigh with relief. Until I hear hundreds of howls arose behind me from where me and the pack used to live in harmony. The hairs on my arms and neck rose. I became terrified but I kept moving. We make it to the base. My stomach begins to growl. I do not have a wolf so I cannot go hunt especially by myself. I lay him down and search for the herb my mother told me about. The herb is flowy, purple with blue leaves, and stands tall. The scent of it is a powerful lavender with honey smell. I find it. I rush over to the pack member. “You need to eat this.” I say softly to him. He groans opens his mouth slightly. I put the plant in his mouth he begins to chew then swallow. The wounds begin to heal quickly. It’ll take a few minutes before he is fully healed. I leave him there to go search for a steam. I find one coming from a cave with LeeLee berries at the entrance. It’s better than starving I suppose. I eat a whole bush full and become full. I start to drink water then I hear rustling in the bushes. Fear began to take control thinking its a rouge..
