16. Thoughts Of Alex.

~LUNA~ Eating with him was so blissful. I couldn't help the hopeful smile that graced my lips on the ride to the mall downtown, where Mia said we would be meeting. Things weren't so awkward anymore. He was finally smiling at me, unlike last night when he was all cold and a little mean. Heck, he even complimented my cooking. The groaning that left his lips as soon as the noodles were in his mouth still tingled through my system. Ace's compliment had felt good, but not the way his did. It felt as though I was in a test, and his groan of delight showed that I had passed. A deep breath escaped my lips. I was trying not to admit that the groaning didn't take me right back to that night. But it did, hence the tingling sensation. "Really, Luna?" I was freed of the feelings for a cheating psychopathic boyfriend, only to be chained to another whom I had a one-night stand with. How classic. The only difference was, Alex was nothing like Eric. His calm and composed personality radiated for everyone to see. But boy! Was he a horse in bed? I pressed my lips together, feeling the sudden redness of my cheeks at that thought. Damn! I had changed a whole lot these past few days, starting from the day I walked out the door of Eric's room. The modest, innocent Luna, who knew only the missionary' style of s*x, died immediately I set my eyes on Alex. What's shocking? I didn't regret it. It was a one-time thing. That's what it's supposed to be. But my libido, heart, body, possibly soul didn't quite get the message. And I couldn't help wondering if Alex had? Hence his dismissive attitude last night. The smile on my lips thinned, and I mentally shook my head at myself. He apologized for his attitude last night. And he was very friendly and smiley towards me this morning. Maybe this was a fresh start to something more blissful. I couldn't help hoping. "We are here, ma'am." The taxi driver dragged me out of my thoughts. I sat up immediately, realizing that I had gotten to the mall. It was a long ride, but my thinking spree had made it seem like a five-minute ride. Stepping down from the taxi, I fished out a few dollar notes from my purse and handed them to him with a smile. "Thank you," He smiled back, nodding in response before zooming off. That got me turning, my gaze immediately resting on the entrance of the mall. It was a big mall with an eatery, a mini bar and game rooms surrounding it. Mia hadn't called me yet, proof that she hadn't arrived. Heading inside, I made a mental note to wait for her at the mini bar we usually spent time at, right before we dived into shopping. Just as I neared the entrance, my phone chimed, indicating a text message. I snagged the phone from my purse, already guessing who it was. With a smile, I unlocked it with my fingerprint because I had set my messages or sensitive notifications not to display on the locked screen. "I'm sorry I'm running a little late, honey. Adrian swung by unexpectedly this morning, and I was forced to make him breakfast..." I laughed at the eye-roll emoji that Mia added beside the word. Adrian was already a degree holder. He graduated from our school last year, that's when he met Mia. Now he was working. He got lucky and landed a job at an oil company. The guy's great, that sometimes I couldn't help but envy what they shared. The message hadn't been exhausted. I continued... "I'm on my way now. You'll see me at the mini-bar in twenty max..." Another smile crossed my lips. Of course, she already knew where I would be waiting for her. Leaving the center of the entrance to evade a car that was heading down, I decided to type in my reply before continuing my short trip to the mini-bar. "You owe me one for keeping me waiting. See you soon." I already knew she would protest that she didn't owe me anything. I listened for the chiming of my phone as I crossed to the other side, making a beeline for the mini-bar that was located downstairs. People filed up and down the surroundings of the mall, each going about their desired errands. The mall had an upstairs where the clothing and footwear store was located. The downstairs was for any other thing that wasn't clothes or footwear. Mia and I weren't shopping for clothes this time, although I wasn't relying on her not to make a last-minute decision and hightail it upstairs for a peek and a snag. We wanted to buy a few things that we would need for the onset of the semester. For me, foodstuffs were supposed to be part of it if my brother had allowed me to stay home. So my shopping had been limited to school materials and other things I might decide to pick up. You know, miscellaneous stuff. The path towards the mini-bar was short on people because, come on, it was freaking daylight, not a time to lounge around for a drink or two. Except for people like me with no job or still on summer holiday, which was several hours away from ending. Entering the bar, I found out that it was nearly empty. Just like I had predicted, it was mostly young people who I guessed were students. As I made a beeline for the counter, my phone chimed. Aha! I didn't hesitate to unlock it immediately, half smiling as I trudged on, throwing a quick glance at my path. "Hey! I don't owe you anything. You are the one who owes me a bucket of ice cream for leaving me behind in a quest to have "wild sex." A soft laugh tore through my lips. I could imagine her using the air quotes with her dramatic eye rolls. Just the response I knew she would send. Another chime indicated the arrival of another message. I clicked on it immediately. "I'm at the mall, better get my bucket of ice cream ready. Queen of wild s*x!!" I was already at the counter when I read the last part. I threw my head backwards in a slightly loud laugh. By the time my surroundings dawned on me and I sobered up quickly, it was already late. I had attracted the attention of other customers. Not just other customers, one of the male bartenders who was standing behind the counter was staring at me with quirked brows. I threw him a charming smile. "A plate of ice cream, please. The biggest one." .
