NOTE: THIS CHAPTER INVOLVES A LITTLE BIT OF VIOLENCE, SO IF YOU CAN'T STAND IT, SKIP THIS CHAPTER. The woman had been surrounded by the mercenaries, after the two mercenaries dragged her to where they were, their gun pointed directly at her. She allowed them to take her without fighting back because she knew how it worked, so she planned to talk it out with them. She raised her hands and surrendered and backed away from the aim of the guns. "I don't want to hurt you guys, neither do I want to be hurt" she said tactfully. "Why don't we let this man go, he's good as dead anyways and then we can maybe get some drinks, don't worry my lips are sealed. I didn't see or hear anything today," she smiled sweetly at them and tried to diplomatically talk them into letting her go. She did not want to get into a fight with them, so she knew she had to settle the matter amicably. She scrutinized their expressions, hoping to see a silver lining but she saw nothing and that ticked her off. She always believed that she was good at resolving things with just words but these people didn't even falter at her words. As a lawyer, she had to be extra good with words, but these men made her feel like she didn't have that talent at all! Just thinking about this, she lost composure and her face shifted from a kind gaze to a gaze that could kill. Her aura was blazing all over the place and left the men astonished. They were perplexed on how such a delicate looking girl could control her aura. From looking at her, no one would have guessed that she possessed such a terrifying aura Feeling skeptical, they immediately regained their composure and had their guard up against her. They knew she wasn't an ordinary woman- no ordinary woman would be able to possess such a terrifying aura. "How dare you guys" the woman screamed, her chest heaving in frustration. She was having the urge again, the urge to kill for the sake of it. She immediately grabbed a handful of her hair and tried to calm herself down. She took a deep breath and patted her chest. She wasn't at work, so she shouldn't be having the thoughts that ravaged through her mind. One of the men narrowed his eyes slightly, he could see it clearly that this woman was dangerous and she could harm his people, so he immediately fired a shot, without so much as a hesitation. BANG!! The gun resounded, it's sound causing a startle for everyone nearby. The men were visibly shaken by the sudden gunshot, they looked towards where the sound came from, and realized that their leader had fired the gun at the woman. Their attention immediately turned towards the woman. She stood tall with a look of displeasure written all over her face, but what shocked them the most was that there was no injury on her body. She was unscathed!! The men gulped in fear, never in their career had they ever seen someone remain unscathed after being shot. They turned to their leader and saw fear in his eyes. He was clearly scared of this woman, but they couldn't figure out what could make him this scared of her. Although they were weary of her, after seeing her remain unscathed after a gunshot but they weren't scared of her, so they couldn't figure out what she did to make their leader so scared. The leader who had never taken his eyes off of her after taking the shot, stood there in admiration and fear of the woman, he thought his eyes were seeing things but he clearly saw the bullet stuck in the crate. "S..she..she dodged the bullet" he shouted in dismay. The woman's eye immediately twitched when she heard this. Immediately, the mercenaries' attention turned to the woman in front of them, she still held that annoyed look but she also looked surprised. "So you were able to see me dodge it?" She asked, with an indignant look clearly written on her face. The man didn't even answer her question, he just looked at her in disbelief. She had already guessed that the man in front of her was their leader, it showed in his physique, composure and aura. She was amazed that someone could catch her movements, that means he had a lot of potential, but she knew that she had to kill him, and his people as they had seen her face and were aware of her abilities, so she had to silence them. The irony of how the roles were switched, before they were the ones who had to kill her, but now she was the one who had to do it. She sighed in frustration, she hated taking lives when it wasn't for a mission, but she knew she had no choice, if she wanted to keep staying low-key. She immediately removed the jacket she put on and tossed it on the ground, she picked up the dagger used to stab the man. "Your leader has seen my abilities, soon enough you guys will know who I am, so I have to kill you. I am deeply sorry for doing this" she said and bowed deeply at them, her eyes blazing with determination. The men were again scared out of their wits by the words that came out of her mouth. She wanted to kill them? Could she do that? They were armed and she wasn't, so how could she do that? Even with all these observations, they were still very scared of the unknown abilities that this woman could possess. If she was that fast to dodge a bullet, she could probably turn invisible or fly!!! The men swallowed their spit and decided to come to terms with their deaths. In an instance, the woman disappeared from their eyes. With a swift, deadly motion, she plunged the knife into the first attacker (the man injured by the unconscious man), the blade sinking deep into his chest. The sound of his labored breathing filled the air as he crumpled to the ground. The others charged, but she danced around them, her movements fluid and precise. A swift s***h across the second man's abdomen left him screaming, his hands clutching at his spilling entrails. She had deliberately targeted him there to keep him conscious and in pain, for attacking a defenseless person. The third and fourth men fell quickly, their bodies crashing to the pavement with a sickening thud. The woman's breathing was steady, her focus unwavering. She immediately took down the fifth and sixth, their desperate cries echoing off the alleyway walls. They couldn't see when she struck them, and just that was the icing on the cake. The seventh man, their leader, looked at her in fear and horror, his eyes wide with terror. He tried to flee, but she was relentless. She pinned him against the wall. "You had so many potential in you but you messed with the wrong person and ended up seeing what you weren't supposed to see, blame your luck for this" she said to him and struck him. The knife glinting in the moonlight as she delivered a series of swift, precise strikes. As he slumped to the ground, the woman stood panting, her chest heaving with exertion. The alleyway was silent, the only sound that could be heard was the heavy breathing of the woman and the distant hum of a city that seemed to have moved on, unaware of the c*****e that had unfolded in its shadows. The woman's gaze swept over the bodies, her expression unreadable. For a moment, she seemed to savor the stillness, the sense of despair, that came with having done this to innocent people, but she knew the truth- it was either them or her. And she chose them. Then, with a quiet intensity, she leaned down and whispered a some words, her voice barely audible, before turning to disappear into the night.
