Prologue
Angela is a sweet girl who tends to be talkative and curious about many things. But that only applies to people who make her feel comfortable, because she becomes very quiet when faced with people she doesn't know well and doesn't trust. Among all her suffering from being labeled as a jinx, Angela's fate worsens. She is forced to marry a very old man considering their significant age difference. Not only that, what's more painful is that the marriage is merely a contract marriage lasting one year. After that, Angela will become a widow, and her position as Rick Davidsons wife will be replaced by Zia, her own cousin.
No woman would be happy to marry a man who is not her choice. Angela feels she is just being used as a puppet to achieve Rick's goal as an heir, and after that, she will be discarded. Yet Angela has someone whose declaration of love she is leaving in suspense.
All of Angela's dreams have been shattered by Rick and her own family. Her father David and her brother Davin even seem indifferent to the fate that befalls Angela. At college, Angela also starts being avoided by her friends because of many malicious rumors created by Zia.
There isn't a single reason for Angela to be happy, nor a single hope she can hold onto. Especially since Rick is so cold and irritating. It makes Angela feel more and more that she is living alone in the world.
Despite all the setbacks, Angela will strive to continue her medical studies, which have only two years left. At least if everything falls apart, there is still one dream left. But is it really that bad when they finally agree to marry based on their mutual interests?

Rick Davidson is a wealthy, cold, and reticent man. He likes beautiful, sexy women who, in his imagination, would be great in bed. But make no mistake, Rick never engages in bedroom activities with his girlfriend because Zia firmly holds the principle that her career is everything. For Zia, if she were to get pregnant and her body would become unattractive, her career would be ruined. That's why she avoids s*x and marriage as long as her career is thriving.
Zia is the woman who tempted him on the night his ex-wife left him without a trace. She offered him a mutually beneficial relationship that appealed to Rick. They eventually agreed to become a secret couple because of Zia's profession as a famous model.
But Rick did not expect that the one who would bear the title of his next wife would be a naive girl named Angela, who is none other than Zia's cousin. A girl whose stories, often highlighting her flaws, Rick frequently heard from Zia. Angela in appearance with aspirations of becoming a doctor but actually no different from a promiscuous girl. That's what Rick knew about her from Zia's mouth. All of this was supported by the hatred from David, Angela's father, and Davin, Angela's brother.
Amidst this lack of knowledge, Rick grew to hate Angela and wanted to create a year full of suffering for the girl. Starting with a marriage that Angela didn't want. He began interfering in Angela's personal life, upsetting her daily. That was roughly the plan in Rick's mind. But is it true that all of this would really happen when, he got to know Angela better, and found something different? Unconsciously driven to be with Angela, Rick's behavior starts to make Zia angry.
Then the marriage really happened with all the problems that befell Angela. Could this marriage be the gateway to Angela's happiness or its opposite? Is there still hope for Angela to be happy?
