Chapter 4: The devil within.

One evening, when Grace was done with her chores, she retired to bed. But she could not sleep and the evening was fast running into night. She just laid there, with a lot running through her mind. She wished all the things happening to her would end, so that she too could live a life for herself and maybe be happy too. She couldn't stop her self from reflecting on all that happened to her the past weeks.

That fried rice incident dwindled the respect her boss's children had for her, and that made her work more tedious. The children didn't see any reason to respect her, since it was clear to them that they were more intelligent than she was, They never obeyed her.

When Grace told their mother, all the woman could say was that, they were just children and that, that was the reason they were acting that way. No warning, no corrections, nothing. No assurance that anything was going to get better. With all those attitudes Grace understood that Mrs Jones was just being a mother when she told her children to be respectful to her the first-time she came. It was clear that the woman's words did not hold water especially when it had to do with her children.

Mr. Sam Jones... He had been on her case for the past couple of weeks. Little wonder he gave her that look the very first day they met. It all started when he came home early from work one afternoon. Grace was not expecting anyone home until evening. So, when She was done with her work for that afternoon, she decided to take a little rest.

Then, she heard a knock on the door. She went to check who it was and surprisingly, it was mr Sam. She wondered what had brought him home so early. She opened the door and greeted him but the man answered her, in a manner she didn't think was appropriate for he

"Good afternoon love" he said. She thought maybe he was just over excited and had forgotten she was just a maid and not his wife. So, she closed the door and went back to her room, wondering what had happened to her boss's husband.

Few seconds later, he called her into the room and asked her to help him search for a file he had left somewhere but not sure where exactly he dropped it. She started searching the whole room for the file but she didn't see anything like it.

After many fruitless search, she turned to tell him she couldn't find it, but found him half dressed with just singlet and boxers on. There was this lustful look in his eyes. He wanted her. She turned around and didn't know what to do, so, she tried walking away. But, she was not fast enough because, He caught her hand, drew her closer and pushed her on the bed. Then, he tried to kiss her.

After so much struggle, she managed to break free from his grip and ran as fast as she could to her room, closing the door behind her.

"What just happened?" She kept asking herself. was that Mr Sam? she was still in so much shock. How can he do such a thing to her? She wondered what would have happened if he had had his way with her.

She hated him for trying to take the only valuable thing she had from her, her virginity. But she still thought something was wrong somewhere, maybe he mistook her for his wife, she reassured her self.

Moments later, he called her and told her he was going back to the office, so, she should shut the door, and shut her mouth, making sure no one ever gets to know what happened in his room or else, she would loose her job and he promised to turn everything against her if his wife should ever find out.

That was when Grace understood that he knew everything he was doing. And the terrible part was that he was not remorseful. Just before he stepped out, he asked Grace to give him a tight hug. She hesitated and he forced her. After that, he drove off smiling.

That moment, Grace made up her mind to report the incident to the wife, regardless of the threats. But when they got back home that evening, they were so happy together and she didn't want to spoil their fun. So, she decided to forgive him for the sake of the children because, such things could destroy their home and even the childrens's performance in school.

She kept praying such a thing never happens again and she made sure she reduced any opportunity to be alone with mr Sam.

She thought she didn't have to worry so much about him when her boss was around, but she was wrong...

Mr Sam called her to the guest room one Saturday morning, asking her to bring a glass of cold water along.

When she got there, she handed him the glass of water and turned to leave, when he called her back...

He dropped the glass of water on a table close by. making it very clear to Grace that he didn't need the water, but needed an opportunity to be with her. He stood up and held her hand, asking her to look into his eyes. When she did, he opened his arms requesting for a hug, which Grace refused and turned again to leave. But he held her back and asked her to look down to the direction of his boxers...

When she did, she noticed he had gone really hard down there. He was begging her to ease him of the pain by letting him have his way with her, but Grace refused and told him to find his way to his wife. She reminded him that he was married and that his wife was still in the house. She grew very angry at him and threatened to report him to his wife if he should try such again.

Mr. Sam just looked at her and shook his head. He told her to do her worse but only if she was ready to loose her job...
