CHAPTER FOUR

At the hospital lies beautiful Sapphire who isn't aware of where she is. The nurses attend to her each an everyday to take care of her. That morning after the nurse on duty was done, while leaving, she accidentaly switched off the oxygen machine after receiving an urgent call from her boyfriend━immediately she left a blond; size six girl quietly and secretly walked into Sapphire's bed. She examined her if she had any slightest chance of waking up but found none, without further delay she called her boss and reported the situation to him━satisfactorily she ended the call and glanced at Sapphire who was already struggling for oxygen. She smiled and walked out as fast as she can.

"Sorry, excuse me ma 'am; is there any Miss Sapphire Felix Anderson here ?" May asked the nurse on attendance. Matthew couldn't wait for his mom, immediately the nurse told them, he hurriedly left his mom to the room where Sapphire has been admitted.

"Son, wait up !" she shouted at him.

"Mom, you've got to hurry up. I've got this feeling, a very bad feeling." Matthew said not even glancing at his mom.

He rushed in and found Sapphire battling with life and death. She has been losing oxygen.

"Oh my God ! Sapphire ! Calm down baby......breath.......breath.....I'm here, my mom is here━we are both here for you. Calm down, you've got us and we've got you." Matthew kept on talking.

"Umm ....... Baby, l think we should call the nurse or doctor to come attend to her." May suggested.

"How about we pray. That is the suggestion you should be suggesting." Matthew replied angrily.

"Fine, fine, so pray. Go on. Or better still breath your oxygen into her." she said, waving her hands to the empty sky.

"Can both of you lower your voices please." Sapphire pleaded in a debilitated tune.

Matthew was jumping for joy, he hugged his mom━he started thanking God for bringing Sapphire back.

"Thank you lord. Umm.... Sapphire, are you alright ? I mean are you feeling any pain or anything other than you being feeble?" Matthew asked compassionately.

"Do l know you guys ? What l my doing in a hospital. What is wrong here ?" Sapphire asked, expressing how discomfit everything seems to her. Matthew was shocked and awed. He looked at the puzzled Sapphire and asked to be excused.

"Sapphire, this is my mom. I'll love to excuse myself and have a word with my mom, is that alright with you ?" Matthew requested.

"Sure, when you get back, promise me you'd tell me who l am. Please?" Sapphire pleaded.

"Sure thing babe." Matthew replied and hurried out of the room with his mom.

I know l can't remember anything but how on earth am l dating this guy ? Dressing old school is cool but l just feel that it is his daily dressing. Maybe l should call the nurses station. Sapphire thought.

She took off the oxygen after all she is fine now, very capable of breathing on her own━Matthew was the one who forced her to put it back own.

She walked to where the phone has been kept, she looked around the desk that the telephone was kept━to see if there's any number kept for emergency purpose, luckily she found the nurses station number. Without hesitation she dailed it.

"Hello, please ma 'am is it Okay if you send a nurse down to bed forty nine in room five."she requested.

"Bed forty-nine in room five is in coma, please ensure you've got the right information of where you are." the nurse replied in shock.

"I'm very sure of this information. Yes, l was in coma but l just woke up and the people here don't seem to be my family members. Though l can't remember or tell if l do have a family, can you do me a favour and call my family and tell them I'm awake please?" Sapphire demanded with teary-eyes.

"Okay then, give me few minute let me find out about your family members, for you were brought in seven month ago by ambulance and no one has visited you other than your school mate━not even your relative." the nurse explained.

She took her phone and called the boss to inform him about the situation on ground.

"Sir, she's awake, the good news is; she's having amnesia." the nurse said cheerfully.

"l told you she shouldn't wake up, so how is her alive and having amnesia related to the job l gave,to you ?" the boss yelled in anger.

"But sir, her not remembering anything is good as her being dead. I promise you, you've got nothing absolutely nothing to worry about━so when will l be paid ?" she explained with fear,. For she doubt if she'll be paid.

"l never made a deal with a fool. The boss said and hanged up the phone.

The nurse kept mute for while and decided not to attend to Sapphire.

After few minute of private discussion with Matthew and his mom, they came back to find her all dressed.

"Sapphire, you barely remember anything━which is obvious that you have amnesia, so please where do you plan on going all dressed up, Or do you remember anything now?" Matthew stated worriedly.

"Look, the truth is, l can't tell if we are together. And l need to go find my family." she said amidst tears.

"The truth of the matter is, your family are no more. Please, I've discussed with my mom and she agrees, is it Okay we go together?" he asked cheerfully.

"Your trying to say, l should live with you guys ?" she asked feeling hoping but worried.

"You don't like it ?" May asked curiously.

"l do just that, I'll be a burden to you guys."

"Come on Sapphi, l insist, look; the best way to remember is to stay with someone that knows you better. What do you say ?" May encouraged.

"Okay ma, thank you so much. I really do appreciate."

"You can't leave yet." the nurse on station entered obviously against the grain.

I wonder what l was thinking, if she goes with them and remember what the boss doesn't want her to remember, I'm dead sure he'd kill me and all whom l dearly love. I either end her now or lose everything l ever have. The nurse on station thought.
