It was already 4:55 PM. Then A black Bentley Mulsanne parked near the garden.
This part of the city was probably the quietest place in the city.
Not many people came here often. Only sometimes you will see visitors walking around the beautiful garden, enjoying the trees and flowers.
Inside the car were two young and pretty ladies.
Kylie Kone and her secretary, Lena Hart.
Kylie sat in the passenger seat.
She was so calm and looked elegant.
She was so fair and her eyes were bright and clear.
“Miss Kone, you are really lucky. After searching for so long, you are finally meeting the miracle doctor.”
Kylie smiled a little.
“Yes… it is indeed good luck,” she said softly. “I appreciate your help all this time. Without you, maybe we would still be searching.”
Lena waved her hand lightly. “Oh, that’s nothing, Miss Kone. It was my duty anyway.”
Then she glanced around outside the car window, looking a bit confused.
“But I am curious though… why did a doctor with such ability choose Emerald Garden as a meeting place? I was honestly expecting something like a big hospital or maybe a VIP lounge. Someone important like you should meet people in a better place?”
She scratched her head a little.
Kylie’s lips curved into a smile.
“You misunderstand, Lena. People who truly have great abilities usually don’t like too much attention. They prefer to stay low key. Quiet places like this… it suits them better, I think.”
Just after Kylie finished speaking, they suddenly heard a knock on the car window.
Tap. Tap.
Lena quickly rolled the window down.
Outside stood a young man.
It was Matthew Stones.
Kylie quickly looked at her wristwatch and it was exactly 5:00 PM.
The miracle doctor was extremely strict with time. He never arrived early… and never late either.
So seeing the man appear exactly at five made her heart jump a little.
Looking at the calm confidence on Matthew’s handsome face, Kylie’s instinct told her something.
She leaned forward slightly and asked,
“You… are Mr. Stones, the miracle doctor?”
Matthew nodded calmly.
The two women inside the car looked surprised at the same time.
The secretary’s brows quickly frowned. She couldn’t help doubting if this man was really the miracle doctor they had been searching for all these years. To be honest… he looked too young. Too young to even be an ordinary doctor, talk less of a miracle one.
Kylie also had a little doubt in her heart.
Matthew was dressed very simply. Nothing special about his clothes at all.
But she remembered clearly that the information came from her grandfather. And her grandfather never gives wrong information… at least not usually.
So she quickly opened the door and welcomed him.
“Please… come in.”
Matthew entered and sat beside her.
The secretary still looked unhappy as she glanced at him through the mirror.
Matthew spoke calmly.
“I was told you wanted to see me.”
Kylie though still had small doubt in her mind but the calm confidence on Matthew’s face made her feel strangely reassured.
So she decided not to waste time.
“I need your help. I want you to cure my sickness.”
Matthew nodded slightly.
“That is not a problem. Healing you will be easy… as long as our agreement still stands.”
Kylie quickly replied, “That will not be a problem, Mr. Stones. I always keep my word. As long as you can cure me, the Valthera Root will be yours.”
Before Matthew could say anything, the secretary suddenly interrupted.
“Miss Kone, I think there is some mix up somewhere,” she said, her voice carrying clear doubt. “I’m afraid this guy is just a confident trickster.”
Matthew didn’t react. He remained calm, like he didn’t even care what she said.
Kylie glanced at her secretary and spoke gently.
“We shouldn’t be too quick to judge, Lena. Let’s be patient first… and see what Mr. Stones actually have to offer.”
However, the secretary was not happy that Kylie didn’t listen to her warning.
She kept looking at Matthew with suspicion.
Then suddenly Matthew turned his head and looked at her.
“Young lady,” he said calmly, “how have you been managing your irregular periods… and the hemorrhoids lately?”
The secretary’s face immediately turned red, she looked embarrassed.
She was completely shocked.
How did this man know about her private illness?
Not even Kylie knew about that problem.
“It… it has been very difficult, but how did you even know that?”
She said out without thinking, it's after that she realize she had already admitted it.
Kylie’s looked so surprise.
“Lena… you really have that illness?”
Lena became even more embarrassed. She looked down awkwardly.
She wasn't sure if what to say.
“Uh… yes. I do.”
“Really?” Kylie asked again, clearly surprised.
The secretary nodded slowly.
At that moment, the doubt Kylie had toward Matthew suddenly disappeared.
If he could know something so private just by looking at her secretary… then maybe he was really not an ordinary doctor.
She quickly turned to Matthew.
“Mr. Stones, I would be very grateful if you could help us cure our sickness.”
Matthew gave a small nod.
“It’s alright.”
Then he calmly looked at Kylie for a few seconds before speaking again.
“Miss Kone, if I’m not mistaken… you have been suffering from chronic chest pain and dyspnea for more than three years.”
He continued,
“And every time you tried to treat it, the condition only became worse.”
The car fell into deep silence.
Kylie and Lena couldn't understand how his diagnosis could be so accurate.
“Your diagnosis is correct, Mr. Stones,” she said, almost speechless. “Exactly correct.”
Just then the secretary suddenly spoke again.
“Miss Kone, I think… my earlier observation about this guy is correct.”
Kylie looked so surprise and turned toward her. “Lena, What do you mean?”
Lena folded her arms and stared at Matthew.
“It’s very obvious what is happening. He is only making lucky guesses. Nothing more than that. Anyone can guess something and get lucky sometimes.”
She shook her head, “This man is an expert trickster, I’m telling you.”
Kylie didn't comply with her.“I don’t think so. Mr. Stones didn’t just guess one thing. He guessed two illnesses correctly at the same time.”
She paused, thinking.
“Don’t you think that would be very difficult to guess by accident?”
Lena still looked unconvinced. Her lips pressed together.
“Well… maybe,” she muttered. “But I will only believe him if he can actually cure the sickness.”
Kylie sighed softly.
Then she turned toward Matthew and spoke politely.
“Mr. Stones, please don’t mind her. Lena can be very stubborn sometimes. She speaks too directly… even when she shouldn’t.”
Matthew didn’t look offended at all. His face remained calm like always.
“That is not a problem,” he said quietly.
Then his expression became slightly serious.
“I am only worried about your condition, you don't have much time.”
Kylie looked worried.
“Really? Then… when will you treat me?”
Matthew answered simply.
“We can do it now.”
He glanced around the quiet garden.
“Right here is fine.”
Kylie looked a little confused.
“Now?”
“Yes.”
Matthew nodded calmly.
“Unbutton your shirt.”
Kylie didn’t understand what he meant. But she wanted to try her luck.
She started loosened the buttons of her shirt.
Matthew then raised his hand.
He moved his hand forward, about to place it near the left side of Kylie’s breast.
Suddenly—
“PERVERT!”
Lena shouted loudly from the driver’s seat.
Her eyes were wide with anger.
“I knew it! I knew this guy was a fake doctor!”
