Matilda walked through the hallway thinking about her encounter the other night. She had felt like she was being ripped from herself, like a vital part of her being was being taken from her and she couldn't do anything about it. Never before in her life had she felt so helpless and hopeless and she couldn't stop her self from shivering out of fear anytime she relived the encounter in her mind. She was hell bent on not being in such situation ever again in her life, and she knew the only way to her resolution. Leaving this town for good She didn't know why but she knew that everything that has gone wrong in her life was related to this town, and she thought herself crazy for believing that, but she knew and somewhere deep inside her felt it too. This wasn't some stupid hunch she always got in the past when she felt that something bad was about to happen, this was real and she knew it, and was certainly going to act on it. She wasn't sure about the direction she was going but knew that aunt Martha's quarters was located somewhere on this side of the mansion. " Go get the Chief guard " she heard a gruff voice command "Lady Martha wants the whole vicinity strongly guarded" " Yes my Lord " the guard replied immediately before running off. What the hell, she thought as she hid behind a pillar while taking in the view before her. There where guards on almost every corner of the hallway and they were all dressed like they lived in the medieval period. Never have she seen guards like this since her two weeks stay in Harvabridge, and never have she encountered people that had such menacing looks and killer vibes emanating from them. Her instant reaction was fear, Fear of what this could be, Fear of the unknown. These are the spirits of people who lived here years before, she thought before instantly shutting it off when she recalled that the guard had mentioned Lady Martha. Then what was this? Because every single damn thing she saw looked so unreal to her. " What sort of peril plagues the Lady that she requested our presence in her abode" "And what may that imply " " You and I both know that the existence of our kind has been a secret since the forbidden descended amongst us " Matilda peaked out of the pillars barricade to see a man who was rather too small to stand in front of the other man who had given orders. " Caution Silas " the bigger man reprimanded " We are under the lady's command and will do as she says " The smaller man whose name was probably Silas made to respond to his words but instead clipped his mouth shut. " And what task does she require us to complete " he asked instead. " The barrels have been persist in sabotaging the lives of Lady Martha's people and it seems that they have found a way to breach her security " " So she wants us to fix a tear or what " Silas asked. The bigger man gave Silas a look before replying " What good does it do to fix a tear whose threads are already loose " " So she wants us to create another wall " " No Silas " The bigger man said while patting his shoulder " We fix the weak threads and protect the Covens " If she was expecting anything, it wasn't the look of horror that contorted Silas face as he looked completely stripped of words. " That's right brother, our time of rest is over " Another guard approached the bigger man who seemed to be their captain. " I was told an order was given to my squad " " Yes Gregor " the captain replied while turning to him " Your squad is to make sure a girl that goes by the name Matilda is safe at all times " " And you protect her no matter what the cost is " he said while goosebumps formed on her skin. What? What exactly was wrong that she needed a gang of hoodlums to protect her. " Yes Captain " Gregor answered before running off. " And who is this Matilda girl " Silas asked " I assume she is the main cause of our mission " " Don't go around blaming people for disturbing our rest Silas we all knew it was temporary, and for the girl she seems to the prize " " Obviously " he replied as he turned to look around. " But nothing will sicken me more than having to walk to the Hall of all " You always were a lazy one old friend " the captain said before disappearing into thin air. A gasp immediately left her lips as she looked at the spot were the man once stood. Nothing, He was gone, just like that. This is unbelievable, she thought as the man named Silas turned towards her direction. She quickly hid behind the pillar while praying to God that she wouldn't be found. She stood still without moving a muscle till she heard the sound of deflating air, she turned to look and puff. The man was gone. She took off running down the hallway while thinking of the quickest way to escape from Harvabridge without notice. What did the big man say? That she was the prize? No, that was not possible. Tears escaped the hard grip she had on them as it flew down her eyes. No, No Her aunt had lied to her, What sort of prize was she to her that she had to be forced to stay here? She ran straight to her room and picked up her parked suitcase. The Hall of all was quiet as ice before Silas appeared instantly surprising everyone as gasped escaped their lips. " Reckless as usual " Lady Martha commented " and what is the cause of this disrespect " " I fear you will have more than my disrespectful appearance to worry about if you don't hurry to the girls quarters " he replied calmly. " And what does that imply " " The girl Matilda seemed to have overheard a few things and is currently making an effort to escape from Harvabridge "
