On The Train

1060 Words
The train growled as it moved against the rail, she thought that riding on a train that drove itself would be fun but it was filled with rich and prestigious people who wouldn't care less about a young adult like her. ugh... leave it to her mum to make her life miserable. Harvabridge was a long way from home, which was why she was more than surprised when her mum let her visit her aunt. She had always been that girl who couldn't socialize because of her parents, as her life rotated from home to classes at school and church, she couldn't even attend any party's or social functions as they were banned. she planned on staying awake through out the whole ride but fell asleep while listening to music. Lenore had been observing the beautiful girl from a distance as she was the only person his age on the train. Well, you wouldn't blame him, a guy was meant to appreciate beauty, and the girl he was looking at wasn't just beautiful because of her attractive features but her soul, he could feel the light vibe radiating from her from his seat. The girl fell asleep a while ago and the train was reaching it's last stop before Harvabridge. Deciding to save the sleeping beauty he walked up to her. "Hey" he said tapping her as she opened her eyes and looked directly into his. He felt a slight tug in his chest as if she was pulling him, neglecting the uneasy feeling he said "You need to wake up, we are arriving at the last stop" "Really" she asked blinking a few times while stretching her body. " So we are in Harvabridge already" Lenore blinked a few times before checking her out, he was unfamiliar with the face so she couldn't live in Harvabridge. The train slowed down to a stop as they announced " Last stop before Harvabridge, all passengers not traveling to Harvabridge should get down" "oh" she said " we are not there yet" she watched as all the passengers stepped down except for the stranger who suddenly made himself comfortable on the sit next to hers. So he was also traveling to Harvabridge, why did he say it was the last stop. she thought "How long till we get there" she asked " In about thirty" he said looking at her strangely "I am Lenore by the way" he said extending his hand " Matilda" she replied with a smile plastered on her face while taking his hand " But you can call me Tilda" " Cool" he replied " Guess we would be seeing more of each other" "yeah" Why was she traveling to Harvabridge he thought while looking at her. She looked pretty normal to be living there, but the main question was if a girl like Matilda could survive in Harvabridge. Tilda kept her face straight not wanting to meet the stare of the handsome stranger who wouldn't look anywhere else but at her, what on earth was wrong with him? Didn't he know he was acting like a pervert? The ride was silent and Matilda wished that the train would move faster, because she was obviously squirming under his intense gaze. She was about to loose her cool and lash out at the pervert when the train made a sudden stop. "All passengers to Harvabridge" She instantly stood up startling herself, she didn't like the little queasy feelings she got from seating next to him. She grabbed her luggage and made her way to the exit without saying goodbye, who cares? On getting down she spotted her aunt who was waiting for her near her car, her sour mood instantly disappeared as she literally screamed "Aunt Martha" while she ran and was engulfed in a tight hug, they stayed like that not caring that people were watching their little get together drama. Her aunt had been her only life saver when she was trapped at home, she visited her and sent her gifts during seasonal celebrations, she was also the only person she could call to relate her troubles. She was her only friend. She pulled out of the hug as her aunt asked "Oh dear how have you been" " I have been doing great aunt" " It's been so long since i last saw you and it feels like forever" her aunt said making a face " I know" She answered giggling " Can't Wait to spend time with you" "That's right dear" her aunt said while taking her luggage "and your gonna love every moment" " I know " she replied as she made to enter the back sit She froze. She could feel it, that icy cold feeling she got when the stranger Lenore was staring at her back in the train. He was watching her, she just knew it. She turned her head to the direction she got the signal, to see him staring at her while a man in a run down black suit was talking to him. When she met his gaze, he gave her a one sided lopsided smile, she immediately got in the car and shot the door. " Any problem " her aunt asked with concern written on her face "No" she said "It's nothing" Lenore delivered the package he was meant to deliver and went towards his car. So she was Martha DuPont's niece " This will be fun " he said as he drove off. They have been on the road for close to two hours and she wondered why the train didn't cover this distance. They had stopped seeing houses as she could only spot trees. "How far ahead" she asked "About another hour" her aunt replied "But this place is pretty deserted, can we get signals when we get there, cause my bar is blank" she said moving her phone in different directions. "Yes of course, Harvabridge is..." her aunt was cut off by a car that zoomed passed them in hyper super speed. She didn't even know that level of speed was possible. " Fun " her aunt completed giving the car a look " Don't worry dear you will see" She nodded as she sat back listening to music. The only passenger to Harvabridge on the train was Lenore, was that his ride?
