Finally Sixteen

I woke up early and snuck into mom and dad's room begging them to let us stay home from school today to setup for the bonfire. After awhile they finally caved, and I went into Chloe's room and jumped on her screaming "happy birthday. We're staying home today to set up for tonight so get out of bed lazy bones". We ate our breakfast and started decorating. We didn't realize it had been four hours already until we heard a knock on the door and checked the time.

With the music going I never heard any footsteps. We're supposed to be at school I mouthed to Chloe. Chloe tiptoed over to me and whispered in my ear "who could it be?" After giving it a few minutes we opened the door and there was nobody there. Whoever it was left flowers and a note.

Chloe's face looked like she had seen a ghost. She finally found the words she seemed to have lost. "Lucy who is Cadence and why did they leave these here? It's signed Alpha Blood moon".

I tried to hide the lack of surprise towards her questions. I couldn't tell her what the voice I've been hearing has said to me. Ive really got to get my dear under control.

Johnny's Pov

When I realized Cadence wasn't at school I didn't stay for the day. I discovered who she really was the day I discovered the crescent moon on her ribs. I remember my mom telling me stories of the Crescent Shine pack being wiped out by rogues and blood suckers that teamed up. She always used to say the alpha's daughter was a gorgeous white pup with gray boots and a gray moon her left side.

The rumors that spread through my pack we're that she was still alive and a lone survivor. I'm not sure why she doesn't go by Cadence everyone calls her Lucy. I followed her scent yesterday to her home. I've been watching her today. For some reason my wolf tells me I need to protect her. At sixteen wolves can find their mates. And the day I entered that classroom Zeuss said that dreaded word "mate" and I was hit with the most breathtaking mixture of pineapple orange and lilies.

I've been hidden in the woods out of sight all morning and then I smelled it. The scent of a rogue wolf. Zeuss lets out a low growl. I fight for control to stay hidden in the wood line. He brought flowers and I remember hearing Cadence's friend talking about her and Chloe inviting them for a birthday. This rogue knows who she is and that she's going to shift at the time she was birthed.

I've known I was a werewolf my entire life. I shifted at the age of ten and my parents never hid it from me. I knew Cadence wasn't a normal human but, why doesn't she? The day I about killed the scumbag who was forcing himself on her she had to of felt the electricity I felt. If she'd just look me in the eyes I wouldn't have to wait for her to shift.

I've been watching this man for what felt like eternity Zeus going nuts telling me to save mate. All of a sudden he looked at the wood line where I was hiding. After a minute of staring my way he shifted and took off into the backyard behind the cabin. I have a bad feeling he's sticking around but, I have to get myself invited to the bonfire. I have to be there. I blocked Zeus out as I returned to school to find Payton and use my abilities.

Lucy pov

I rip the note up and destroy the flowers while Chloe's in the shower. Im trying so hard to contain my fear and not show the trembling that's going on internally. Today I turned sixteen well not yet officially mom says I was born at 6:33 at night but, I'm still sixteen. it's my birthday it's supposed to be amazing the small sweet sixteen we set up and instead of I'm terrified.

After Chloe showers I decide to take one to help calm my nerves before heading into town to do some shopping. We needed to get outfits for tonight and each other's birthday gifts. Chloe's idea of outfits lands us in the dress boutique. After grabbing a few we head to the changing rooms. I grab a black and gray dress that's strapless and sits quite high on my thighs. Just as I finish getting it zipped I got a throbbing pain shooting from my head down my spine. Everything went quiet and as fast as the pain came on it was gone again.

"Would you come out already" Chloe beckons. No sooner then I step out her jaw drops open and she squeals oh my goddess you look sexy sis!"

"Thanks Chloe, you look pretty hot yourself." She chose a blood red dress that's very deeply v cut. it's about floor length and has a slit all the way up the right leg to her hip. Finally it's time to go pick out presents and grab stuff for s'mores and the cupcakes. I'm ready to have some fun tonight.

I picked her out a necklace that has forever my sister always my friend inscribed. After three hours of shopping it's finally time to head home. Just as we reached the front door that pain came back and I let out a blood curdling scream and the world around me went black for what felt like an eternity. Once the pain disapated and it was no longer like I was blind it was like I was seeing everything for the first time brighter, clearer and intensified. i couldn't help but look around in awe.

"Lucy are you..... oh my goddess your eyes!" She screamed.....
