Travel Days

We bid our goodbyes to Bonnie and Clyde and head out with Kat in tow. It's a few miles to hike. We'll get there faster if we shift. Dad mind links us. My wolf has been dying to run so I'm beyond excited.

"Damen I am unable to keep up with wolves" Kat says. I shift and walk over to her amazed by how big my wolf actually seems now. Zeuss looks at me with wide eyes full of wonder and lust and I immediately know he longs to be with me but wonders why I'm in a submissive pose to Kat with my front half lowered to the ground.

"Tell her to climb on mom" I say.

"Your going to tire to fast carrying her Cadence" my mom says.

"I'm strong enough mom just do it." I say feeling a growl coming.

As Kat climbs on my back she strokes me behind my ears and says "Cadence you are a stunning wolf". I purr with delight feeling confident in myself. We break out in a run listening for Intruders as we go. We've ran through trees after trees and I see mountains in the distance. I smell crisp water and hear the sound of a waterfall and I get curious and slow my pace turning off track heading towards the sound. "Let's eat the sandwiches we parked over here at this waterfall." I mind like Zeuss and my parents. Kat climbs down chants some words I couldn't decipher and a blanket and a bunch of food appear. We shift back into our human forms and throw the clothes on we packed.

"This place is beautiful" I say star struck. "After we eat can we get in for a swim before we take off again I ask. I've never been anywhere other than Kat's school and into town other than Johnny's pack lands" I say.

"We can stay for a little bit" mom says.

We sit down for the amazing picnic eating everything Kat conjured up. And I rush off for the water. "Lucy you shouldn't be going alone. Wait for me! " Johnny yells with an immence amount of discomfort in his voice.

"Well hurry up slow poke" I tease. Next thing you know he's tackling me into the cold water. When we resurface I'm laughing so hard I can't breathe. We swim to the waterfall and notice a cave behind it. We swim through the waterfall and see glowing red rocks in the cave. We climb out onto the cool rock floor and head to get a better look. As we reach the rocks they're glowing so bright that we can't look away. "Get away from those" Kat screams. She is too late. I feel my body hit the floor and in surrounded by darkness. "Johnny are you ok" I try to mind link through the dark and silence.

He doesn't respond. Cadence is nowhere to be heard of and all I can think is I'm dying and Johnny's gone.

Meanwhile closer than they know(Chloe's pov)

I hear my mom yells get away from those knowing she's talking to Lucy. The enchanted crystals that hold dark evil magic surrounded the vampire kingdom. It sounds like my mom is on the other side of this stone wall and I can't seem to break through the sound barrier.

"You hear that. She's trying to come be mine and I've got to get to her." Stephan says.

"She's not coming for me" I say.

"Oh but when she awakens from those gems believe me she'll be coming".

"What did you do?" I can't help but ask. "Where's my dad?"

"He's out following your mom's directions"

"Lucy deserves better than you and what the rest of my family is putting her thru. She deserves to have a life with her parents and her mate. She has been marked and she marked her mate. She feels nothing for you and she fears you. And everything you're doing is going to make her hate you. You get that right?" I say provokingly.

"Sh you hear that. Sounds to me like Cadence got a bit too curious. Time for me to make sure she comes to me." Stephan says.

"Lucy the werewolves are holding Chloe captive. Johnny is planning to kill you. My people are your only hope at safety. Run and never look back my queen.Your parents aren't who they say they are."

"What are you doing" I'm afraid of the answer to come.

"Those crystals will fill her head with information turning her against her people and bring her straight into my arms. You better not try anything to stop her from it or I will kill you myself in your dad's absence." he says.

He takes off out of the cave like a streak of lightening. It cold and dark and I have one chance to help Lucy. she has always been my best friend I think to myself I can't let her come here and be with these monsters." Lucy please don't listen to that. I am fine right now Johnny would never hurt you. The vampires plan on draining your blood to become more powerful and eliminating the surrounding packs.You can't trust my mom she's working with them. Please hear this please I beg you. Do not come for me it's a trap. Everything is laced with wolfsbane and the bars are silver. Please don't harm my parents since you left that's all I have. Find your way back to Johnny when you awaken from the red crystals."

I try sending her my thoughts like Stephan did and all I can do is pray to the moon goddess she hears me. As exhaustion sets in so does the fear for my best friend. I need to think of a way to free myself. I lay on the pile of blankets on the floor in the corner and curl up under two of them. As the night falls I drift off into a restless slumber.
