An further voice said, "Yes, this is impossible, Kai. Let's settle this matter with our pack. There must be confusion, Zef."

They grabbed me roughly and stared me down as they said, "You'll be coming with us."

I awoke in a totally new location. I was laying on a plush mattress on a plush rug with an open window.

Instead of a dank cell in a dark dungeon, I found myself in a palace fit for a princess. For how long did I snooze? Memories of the incident surfaced, reliving the pain and bruising my heart had felt at the time.

Hallon. The father...

Already, I find myself longing for them.

I despise these siblings for murdering my loved ones right in front of my eyes, but I despise myself much more for being helpless to stop it.

Twins Alpha Xaderia and Nicholas are known for their ruthlessness in battle. Midnight, their pack, is so formidable that no one would dare cross them. That's how dangerous their status is.

I still can't believe they're my friends, therefore I've been denying our friendship for a long time.

I told them I would be their slave and do whatever they wanted. My god, I’m so dumb. I don't know how I'd know if I could give them what they desire. Maybe they're after my soul.

The door opened, and the twins came to see me.

They both left me alone to finish off my errands. I wanted to jump out the window, but the place was crawling with security personnel.

I cussed under my breath. Instead of complying with their requests, such as taking a shower, I refuse to get out of bed.

Kai went to check on her after about 15 minutes and said, tongue-clicking, "Oh dear, a disobedient she-wolf like you won't survive if you're going to continue that attitude."

I was pressed against the wall as Kai seized my neck and said, "Or I'll make you regret that attitude." into my ear.

I felt his cold stare pinning my spirit, but I forced myself to look him in the eye and said, "Really?" I joked that "I'm scared now."

"Kai, why is she taking so long?Zef, hearing my question from the outside, put his finger over my mouth to keep me quiet.

You should be careful around me and my identical twin. Rogue, we are just pretending to be nice right now. But provoke us to anger and you'll find out why we're so well-known for it.

Then he released me and pointed to the bathroom door: "Now, want us to give you a shower or?”

I clenched my teeth and bolted towards the restroom. I started the faucet and just stood there, starring at the wall, mindlessly.

After swiftly taking a shower (towels, shampoo, soap, and other toiletries were already provided), I changed into a clean outfit that was waiting for me on the bed. Even underwear was available.

I dressed in the baggy black top, skinny black jeans, and boots. I got ready at the dresser, where I found a hair comb and other girly necessities, and then I left to see Zef.

He gave me a thorough once over before spraying me down with perfume and warning, "Your rogue smell is strong; it might trigger our pack members to attack you."

Affirmative, I waved him off.

He gave me one last sniff to make sure, then nodded and said, "Good enough."

We then exited the packhouse and made our way to the automobile outside the gate, where Kai awaited our arrival. I was surrounded by members of his pack, all of whom were examining me with interest.

"Is she the wild child?", the female wolf queried.

“Shss. Someone someone chimed up, "The Alphas might overhear you.

That's where they nabbed her. Oh my God, she is so hideous.

Zef's gaze shifted to them and he gave them a long, stern look before taking my arm and saying, "Don't mind them."

I simply rolled my eyes and gave the she-wolves the side eye. They shrieked in surprise, but they didn't have time to come back to me before Zef opened the car door for me in the rear.

Zef climbed in through the passenger side door while Kai drove.

The car started up, and we drove away. Twenty minutes of driving through dense forest passed quickly. Since I was unconscious during the journey, I had no idea in which direction my pack was traveling, such was the stealth of Alpha Kai's and Alpha Zef's area. But if there's one thing I know for sure, it's that it's over toward the east.

I tried to open the door and get out of there, but Kai was staring at me the whole way there.

I gave the two of them a quick look. Now look past their similarities and see how dissimilar they really are. While Alpha Kai was combative and dominant, Alpha Zef favored a more peaceful approach. As much as possible, I need to exercise caution around him.

The destination was a tall treehouse in the middle of nowhere, and that's exactly what we found when we got there.

A long-bearded old guy emerged from the house after Alpha Kai murmured something.

Alpha-beta duo. Why should I pay you a visit?" he walked up to us and asked.

Upon hearing Zef say, "Your prophecy has happened," the elderly man gasped.

As he led us into his home, he shook his head in a moment of terror.

"Being an alpha twin is difficult enough; being an alpha twin with an identical twin is doubly so. The necromancer's trembling voice piqued my curiosity as he warned, "The Lycan king will come after you."

'No, he's busy enough aiding Alpha Kamilah and Alpha Magnus from the other continent,' Kai answered.

"Then cast a shield over us, or something," they pleaded.
