Betrayed by her own kin and left crippled by their cruelty, Princess Seraphina is sent as a living offering to the Alpha King of the East—Kael Draven—the merciless warlord who reduced her homeland to ashes. Whispers echo through the court: the beastly king will tear her apart, and her fragile body won’t last a single night in his lair. But what if the savage Alpha does not crave her death? What if, instead, he needs her… to tame the raging curse that threatens to strip him of his very humanity? This is the tale of a shattered princess who learns to claim her strength, and a cursed Alpha who finds that his salvation may rest in the woman he once believed was nothing more than the spoils of war.

Chapter 1 – The Offering
The walls of Eldoria’s palace still smelled of smoke. Ash clung to the air, seeping into Seraphina’s lungs as she sat on the cold stone floor of her chamber. Her legs ached with every small movement, a reminder of the cruelty carved into her body by her own blood. Betrayal didn’t just break her heart—it crippled her, leaving her limping through the ruins of a kingdom that no longer belonged to her. “Princess Seraphina,” the guard’s voice was harsh, echoing down the corridor. “It is time.” Time. The word felt like a death sentence. Her fingers trembled as she smoothed the torn edge of her gown. She wanted to scream, to fight, but she had no weapon left—no kingdom, no army, no family. They had all delivered her to this fate like a lamb led to s*******r. She was nothing more than an offering. An offering to Kael Draven—the Alpha King of the East. The man who had reduced her homeland to ashes. The warlord who conquered with blood and never showed mercy. The beast everyone whispered about in fear. “They say he will tear you apart,” her maid, Elira, had whispered that morning, her hands shaking as she braided Seraphina’s hair. “No one survives a night in the Alpha’s lair.” Seraphina had smiled bitterly. Then perhaps it is better that I do not survive at all. Now, as two guards dragged her forward, her steps faltering on the palace stones, she lifted her chin. If she was to be thrown to a beast, she would not go cowering. Even shattered, she was still a princess of Eldoria. The grand doors of the throne room opened. And there he was. Kael Draven sat upon the throne like it was built for him alone, his presence filling the cavernous hall. Broad shoulders cloaked in black fur, hair as dark as midnight, and eyes—gods, those eyes—an unnatural shade of silver that seemed to pierce through flesh and bone. He did not look at her like a man. He looked at her like prey. Seraphina’s heart hammered, but she forced herself to meet his gaze. “So this is the tribute Eldoria offers me,” Kael said at last, his voice deep, rough, and laced with amusement. “A broken princess.” Her cheeks flushed with humiliation, but she refused to bow. “Better a broken princess than a cursed king,” she shot back, her voice trembling but clear. The court gasped. The guards stiffened. No one spoke to Kael Draven that way. For a long moment, silence reigned. Then… he laughed. A low, dangerous laugh that sent a shiver through her spine. “Sharp tongue for someone so fragile,” Kael murmured, rising from his throne. His movements were fluid, predatory, every step calculated. “Tell me, Seraphina… do you think your words can shield you from me?” He circled her like a wolf circling prey, gaze lingering on the scar running down her leg, the slight limp she tried to hide. “Your kin offered you to me because they thought you wouldn’t survive. That you would be… easy to destroy.” “Then destroy me,” she whispered, lifting her chin, though her pulse raced wildly. “I have nothing left for you to take.” He stopped in front of her, so close she could feel the heat radiating from his body. His silver eyes narrowed, studying her face as if searching for something. “Nothing left?” he echoed, his voice soft, almost dangerous in its gentleness. “We shall see.” Seraphina swallowed hard. “If you think I’ll beg for mercy, you’re mistaken. Kill me quickly or keep me chained like some trophy. It makes no difference.” His lips curved into something that wasn’t quite a smile. “Oh, little princess… you misunderstand.” He reached out, brushing a strand of hair from her cheek. His touch was surprisingly gentle, yet his presence made her shiver. “I don’t want your death,” he whispered, his voice dropping lower, darker. “I want your survival.” Confusion flickered across her face. “Survival?” Kael’s jaw clenched, silver eyes flashing with something feral, something inhuman. For a moment, she swore she saw his pupils narrow like a wolf’s. “My curse is growing,” he confessed in a voice only she could hear. “Soon, I will lose what little humanity I have left. And the only thing standing between me and becoming a complete monster… is you.” Her breath caught in her throat. Me? Before she could speak, Kael leaned closer, lips brushing the shell of her ear. “So pray you are stronger than you look, Seraphina. Because if you fail me…” He exhaled slowly, hot against her skin. “…I will devour you.” Her knees nearly buckled, but she forced herself to meet his silver gaze, even as fear and defiance warred inside her. He wasn’t going to kill her—not yet. But that was far from mercy. No, this was something far more dangerous. As Kael Draven’s hand lingered at her jaw, forcing her to hold his gaze, Seraphina realized one terrifying truth. This wasn’t just survival. This was a war she had to win—with her heart, her will, and perhaps… her soul. And somewhere in the back of her mind, a dangerous, thrilling thought whispered: perhaps she didn’t just have to survive him. Perhaps… she had to survive with him.
