The Alpha's Broken Heart

It's your time~Nefeli~Earth.

Sleep has become my new best friend, and I refuse to be ashamed.

' We've slept two times in a span of five hours, you're a real one small guy. ' I think to my slightly protruding belly as I wake. And to think yesterday I thought I was bloated.

I look around and see I'm in someone's truck. I try to open the door nearest to me, but it's locked and so is the drivers door. I panicked abit and sit up to look out of the screen shield. I see Nate and Xavier standing formally, whilst talking to some girl.

'Wait isn't that... ' I realise quickly. I move to the door and try to kick it down.

After a few failed attempts and sore feet, I decide to open our mindlink.

'Uncle Mike, what did you do? ' echoes in my head. Uncle Mike? Something flashes in front of my eyes.

' A tree, born from lost love. A child is produced as due fruit of the tree. Completing the heart of the one left behind.'

I look at what is happening and I see the person who was supposed to be sick getting up and bowing shyly. I laugh abit and Nate looks in my direction. I motion to the door, but he shakes his head at me.

After forever, I see the girl and her friends moving towards Xavier's truck. Amara later exits the hospital and makes her way towards Xavier's truck. She pauses and looks to Xavier who is shaking his head, she pouts and walks towards the truck I'm in.' I think this is Nate's truck...' I thought to myself. If Calista was here she would have said something like, ' No kidding Sherlock.' I audible sigh. I miss Calista.

" What's up baby Mama!" Amara says bubbly as she enters the back seat. I laugh at her, she is such a character.

" What was going on outside?" I ask her. She looks at me weirdly in a look that says, ' you were right here though'.

" I wasn't outside, but from what I heard and deciphered, I think she wanted to ask Nate for help but she lied about the reason, she then later said the real reason. So Nate is helping her. " Amara said looking up as if what she is saying is written somewhere in the roof of the car.

I nod and watch Xavier pull out of the parking space and unto the road and I also see Nate make his way into the truck.

" Are you okay princess? What's wrong?" he says as he sits down in his seat.

"What was going on? Who is she? She looks like the girl in the sketch I saw." I say looking at him with wide eyes. He also pulls out of the parking and gets on the road.

" That is Cassiopeia, Linda's sister. " he says eyes on the road.

"We should get rid of Selena, if Cassy is Jace's mate then we can't have Selena complicating stuff. Also we should find a way to help Linda, as much as she has been irritating we know it isn't her fault. " Amara says looking at both of us. Everyone falls silent, thinking about what she said.

" Xavier says we should confront her with Cassy to see if she confesses, then we get rid of her." Amara says after clearing her throat. Nate and I both nod.

"So you can get her from the dungeon and drag her to the living area, we bring Cassy and her gang to the living area. Things go well, we kill her after. Things go bad Cassy kills her before I get a go at her. " I say growling slightly.

" What if she manages to use some witchcraft and hurts you guys." Nate says eyebrows furrowing. I grab his hand that is settled on the stick thingy. I squeeze and he turns to me.

"If she does, I'll roast her until she is a pile of ashes." I say and he smirks at me.

Once we arrive at the pack house, we find Xavier explaining the plan and I see Cassy looking abit downcast. I walk up to her and pull her into a bone-crushing hug. She freezes but recovers quickly throwing her arms around me. I feel my shoulder get wet and I know she is crying.

" It gets better. You deserve it." Athena and I say together. She nods and smiles at me. Amara places a hand on her shoulder, nodding at her then she enters the house.

"Thank you, I'm Cassiopeia and you must be our Luna." she says shyly.

" What's with the formality, did Nate say something to you?" I ask then turn to glare at Nate. He pales and Cassy starts laughing making me join her.

"Anywho, I'm Nefeli, and you must be our long lost Beta female." I say giggling after failing to sober up. She nods smiling. It suddenly drops.

"I left before he could know... I knew we were mates but then she showed up and killed me. I had to run away, I feel as though I have up on him, Nefie, I don't know what she did to Linda." she said sadly.

" She made her believe she is mated to Nate. Let's just say I didn't like you sister when I first got here. " I say leading us up the steps. I later smile at the nickname she gave me.

" Jace! Jace!!" I shout as we enter but he doesn't respond.

"I think he is training the pups right now." Nate says. His eyes glaze over for a minute and then he looks at us.

"He should be here soon. I made sure of it." he said grinning mischievously.

" What did you do?" I ask him whilst placing my hands on my hips.

" I might have told him that I brought you back home, but we were attacked by vampires. " he says scratching his neck nervously.

" You're imagination will never cease to amaze me." Cassy says shaking her head.

I hear heavy footsteps and I hear the back door open. I see Jace run past the corner with an expression set to kill. He halts to a stop as he sees Cassy. Just then Amara walks out with Selena.

"Get your hands off me, Jace! help me!" Selena shouts before turning to see Cassy glaring at her. Whilst Cassy looks ready to send her back to her home in hell, whilst Selena looks like she is praying to be swallowed by the ground.

" How? No..." she says whispering but even I heard it. She tries to back away but Amara pushes her forward.

" Why are you so surprised Seli? It takes more than a wolfsbane soaked silver knife to kill me and keep me dead, sweetie. Just incase you're all wondering." Cassy says and I hear multiple gasps echo along with mine.

" You know I considered getting a taste of your death but Cassy please, she is all yours." I say backing away abit. Jace looks between the two girls multiple times before he stumbles back. Xavier moves towards him cautiously.

" Uh J, are you good bro?" he asks grabbing his shoulder.

" Cassy, Selena. What did you do!" he shouts all in Selena's face. She flinches and stutters trying to tell him something.

" Don't even try or else you will be the first female I have ever manhandled." he says deadly calm. She pales and starts sobbing. I guess he had never attacked it hurt a female, because every Nate looked shocked. The door opens and the guy who pretended to be sick walked in.

"Wait! Did I miss it? No why didn't you wait!" he says dramatically. I laugh despite the situation I'm in. He looks to Selena and gasps. She sniffs and then looks to him. She gasps and tries to move to him.

"Gorge, she's the wolf that killed me. She also took my mate!" Cassy says updating her friend. Gorge's eyes visibly harden. Selena looks hurt and tries to explain herself.

"Listen to me, I was bitter. This was supposed to be my Dad's pack before his great grandfather conquered it. I just wanted it back!" she said as if her reason was just or right.

" You are Selena Monti?" Nate asked shocked. She just nods and looks to Gorge with so much hope.

" I, Gorge Richard Blacksmith, hereby rejects you, Selena Monti as my mate and future Beta female of Crucifixion pack." he says simply and walks out. Selena clutches her chest crying out in pure agony. Amara let's her go and steps back.

Selena springs to her feet and grabs me in the blink of an eye. I hear Nate and everyone else growl at her. I try to attack her but she extends her claws and places them by my midsection, effectively making me freeze.

For the first time in my life, I feel genuine fear and I don't like how it tastes in my mouth. I look to Nate who is also frozen. I just close my eyes to breathe.

'Trust me...' Athena says in my head. I know she can tell I trust her so she releases herself in my head. I feel Selena talking and her claws graze my stomach.

In that instant, I feel Athena snap and I open my eyes, grabbing the hand by my womb and twisting it to an awkward angle. She yelps and I grab her left leg, which was the same leg she bit, and I tear into the flesh. I grab her throat a throw her to the wall. I can feel Athena emerge. She speeds over and begins clawing at her chest. She continues screaming and I reach into the gaping hole I created to grab her heart. She lets out one last blood curling scream before her life leaves her. Her eyes wide open staring into space.

I get up from my crouched position. I walk over to Cassy who is frozen in place by my eyes, which no doubt are changed. I lift my arm and hand her Selena's heart. She looks at it and scrunches her nose, making Athena laugh out loud.

"Girl, same!" Athena says giggling and everyone begins laughing at Cassy's expression. I feel Athena fade into my body and I open my eyes to look at her. She hugs me tight and looks up.

"First of all, that was so cool. Second of all it's you! " she says. She hits the heart out of my hand and steps on it. I smile at her. I look at her confused so she finishes.

"The woman who saved me, she looked exactly like you!" she says excited.

" Oh that must have been the goddess Athena, not me" I say looking down.

" Please, it's the same thing!" she says rolling her eyes.

" I like her." I say turning to face Jace, but I find him passed out on the ground.

"Um when did that happen?" I ask.

" I was right by him but I never noticed. That really is uncaring of me. " Amara says looking at him sadly.

Nate unfreezes and rushes to me and hugs me, breathing in my scent. He looks to Xavier and nods.

Xavier goes outside and immediately returns with a bucket of water. Cassy places an arm on his chest stopping him. She walks up to Jace's resting form and crouches. She places I finger hovering over his nose. His face contorts into discomfort before he opens his eyes.

" Mine!" he shouts in a voice louder and deeper than his own, probably his wolf. I turn to Amara and link her.

" Beauty, do you think you can help Gorge find someone?" I ask remembering him.

" I didn't think of that. I'll try but I need to look for someone that is fitting." She said looking around. Just then Linda gets down and when she sees Cassy she screams and then she passes out.

" Linda!" I say thinking about how she doesn't have a mate.

" Let me see...I can see her mate isn't alive, died during an attack when they were twelve. So I believe Linda is perfect." She says and her eyes start glowing gold. Soon her whole body starts to glow. Everyone is backing away and shielding their eyes. Then the light gets blinding light and as soon as it flashes, it immediately disappears. Amara stands tall with her bow and black and gold arrows.

"Get Gorge." she says and I see everyone shiver. As soon as she says that Gorge walks in.

"What was that light? Did she hurt anyone?" he asks looking at everyone. Amara lifts a golden arrow and aims it at his heart. He tries to run but the arrow had already met it's mark, dissolving into his skin. She aims one at Linda, who was just waking up. It meets it's target and she freezes.

"What was that?" Linda asks softly which shocked everyone. Her naturally voice is velvety, calm and smooth. Kinda of like a spoken word poets voice. Gorge looks at her and freezes. She looks to him and freezes too.

"Hello?" Gorge said sounding unsure. She smiles warmly, shocking us again. She looks beautiful smiling genuinely.

Look towards the living area and find the witches body gone. I gasp and everyone, except Gorge and Linda who are ogling each other, turns to me.

"Guys, where is the body?" I ask, my heart stopping.

" Look at the window!" Amara exclaims. We look and see some creature, eyes soulless, canines prominent and skin pale. It smirks at me and then runs off. I turn to Nate as he hugs me to him. He looks to me and squeezes me reassuringly. The smirk, the body, the blood trail, the empty eyes and the evil, sickening aura leaves no mystery behind.

'That was Selena... '
