- What? Another round? I thought you have bid farewell in a brutish, British manner.

- The twilight, obscurity. This is what I would like to discuss a little further. Sometimes it comes slowly, and sometimes suddenly. In both cases, a man adjusts and get used to it as to a natural environment. He still can see some things in the darkness; the rest disappears and vanishes from memory. If it goes on for a long time, an abrupt light could be painful, even damaging. You know why a physician asks you to wear sunglasses for a few days after he removes a cataract.

Perhaps that is what had in mind the one who talked about the purified truth that could be dangerous for the organizing world – it organizes in the twilight.

The difference is that when you are wearing glasses, you know what you are doing, and you define the moment when you can take them off. For the same reason, a momentary flash of truth can scare you with the hint of blindness. It might be just an instinct, and blessed is the healer who finds proper means to ease the effect for a while, to pave the path to the complete cure. He will make you aware of the light and teach you how to use glasses – the product of your own resourcefulness.

Another attempt to manage the situation, aside from the new art, was one advent that at the time has not made a huge impression. It resided on the edge between science and philosophy and had been named the Complementarity Principle. It was more or less accepted by scientists, but its deeper meaning is not quite understood even now. Its author 8 probably has not realized the full extent of his insight, or has not found a way or time to substantiate its importance.

The point of this new vision of the world was that in almost every idea born by conscience is a grain of sense. Sometimes more and sometimes less, and the new approach for dealing with reality – a new paradigm, if you wish to use this frightening term – consist in keeping all these ideas in mind not assigning the absolute right to any of them. It would not lessen your affection for the one that you consider most valuable, but relive you from harsh frenzy with which you reject all others. One might recall again the metaphor of the Art Gallery, where only bad, mediocre pieced do not deserve to be placed.

Sometimes most sinister inhuman ideas surface, and win over minds to the point that they gain enough power to be realized in abhorrent deeds. But it passes eventually; such ideas do not possess the real live force to be implemented in reality for any significant time stretch, let alone for dominating the universe. I am not saying that you do not participate in this process; that the good take care of itself. The good needs you, and wins by your efforts. Although, it is a rare and extreme situation. The inherent moral sense would never let an alive, not hollow man fall into the fallacy of wrong idea. And there is no need to be afraid of ghosts of such ideas.

It is difficult to acquire this new state of consciousness since it contradicts long accepted, gained by hard labor usual approach, that primarily is ‘the principle of excluded middle’: Out of two propositions one is true, the other is falls, and there could not be a third one.

However, the question ‘is electron a particle or a wave’ if applied to a nuclear object, is meaningless. An elementary particle does not have such distinctive attributes, and two complimentary feature of the nuclear reality could not be separated without destruction of an entity which you call atom.

The nuclear object is neither particle nor wave, nor even both simultaneously. It is something else, the third. It is imperceptible for your five senses or scientific instruments, but it is still a reality. Mind supported by experience gives you a chance to comprehend it without direct impression.

If you make an effort to transpose this way of thinking into social life – which by no means is less complex than nuclear object – you will find out that with certain conditions a particular idea or description works best; and if circumstances change, quite another attributes might be needed for the same object. You are always in win-win situation if you have both at hand.

Of course, it is a bit more complicated than Earth’s rotation. Your science is also struggling with this reality thoroughly hiding its confusion. Who will be the first to absorb this new perception – spontaneously without strained efforts of familiar means, is an open question. And it is not important; you would simply help each other.

The main obstacle is timidity, under-appreciation of your mind. And also – fear. Man is afraid that as soon as he relaxes his grip, everything will fall apart.

You have mentioned with respect the man who insisted on a ceaseless search for truth, but it was also him who asserted that such a search goes inseparably with the threat of “insecure state” as he called it, and that the man’s duty is disregarding this threat.

The world is marvelous and diverse – not its order and expediency, but beauty and power, engrained in creative nature. One should not sever beauty from power. Listen to the language: words are not trifles. Good artwork is called “strong” even by strict aesthets; bad behavior is considered ‘unpretty’ even by hard-nosed moralists.

Take a close look as life with your minimal contribution, deals with certain ugly developments. What a steady force represent spontaneous protests that emerge in society for one or another sad reason. They rarely result in an immediate relief and do not eliminate evil; although frequently lead to its weakening. And all together they constitute the live power of the universe – without announcing final resolution, posting consciously such an objective, even realizing the genuine implication of the acts; limiting these acts only by the topic of a current event.

At the beginning of our conversation, you have denounced your existence as endless patience. This dreadful condition arises when the situation does not suit you, and you can do nothing about it. You are waiting till it dissolves by itself, abiding. I would prefer to abandon this term altogether since it does not express anything useful.

You got stuck in traffic. You do not know what has happened, and how long you would have to wait, maybe several hours. So, you are pining, tolerating; when in fact, the reality is rubbing your nose in a plain fact: it takes you out of useless at the moment situation barring you from any participation in it. Reality offers you to taste its covert onward motion in which you can take part as an observer, or if you can develop a unique sensorium – an ally. In other times you are usually get distracted by various events. Now you may assume that your consciousness is completely captured by the Infinite Mind that needs to work on it, to make some improvements, some deep changes essential for both of you. The helplessness that you feel at the moment is evidence of a direct connection to the omnipotent power.

One of the beacons of humanity 9 praised by you called this state ‘passive night’: “A soul feels that God does not hear it any longer. It cannot pray or attend service. Much less it can perform earthly chores; God occupies the soul and works on it that is why the soul is helpless.”

You will not miss anything. And if you are late for something you consider important, it would become yet another experience enriching your life, even if it is a grim one.

Simply put, yes, keep silent if it feels right, but do not stand on head, do not waste your energy on confronting reality in whole. Let the life unfold by itself. You would notice when it goes to the extremities and requires your involvement – as it already happens. As for the rest – trust it. There are forces behind life, immeasurably more powerful than of those who try to deform it.
