Chapter 3

Kyralynn

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! I am abruptly awoken by my alarm. I sit up trying to get my bearings. Realizing I have to get in the shower before adalayde arrives to start getting ready for my party. Akyra is pacing in my head. Akyra, what's going on? Why are you pacing? No reason, I'm just excited for your party. I think she is more excited for the party than I am. It's like she knows something she isn’t letting me in on.

I turn on the shower as hot as I can stand it.(which is all the way hot) I get undressed and step into the shower. As the hot water runs over me, my mind wanders. Mostly about this evening to come. I finish in the shower just as I hear a knock on my door. Great timing, I think to myself.

I open the door wearing my big white fluffy robe. It is So comfy. Adalayde is standing there, arms overflowing with many bags full of her dress, shoes, and a crazy amount of makeup. (Not that either of us need it) “ Are you just going to stand there gawking at me or are you going to help me get this stuff into your room so we can get ready?” Adalayde asked me. “Of course let me help you. I have no idea what I was thinking. Why on earth did you bring so much stuff? You know I have make-up here.” I tell Adalayde. “Well, I wasn't sure what I needed, so I brought everything I thought I might need.” Adalayde explained. “I see. What should we do first? Get dressed, then hair and makeup. Or hair, makeup, then dress?” I asked. “Um, we should probably do hair, makeup, and then get dressed. That way we don't mess our beautiful dresses up.” Adalayde said. “Good Idea.” I said in agreement. I decided to french braid my hair and have some loose strands around my face curled. I decided not to use much makeup, only some eyeliner, mascara, and a little lip gloss. I put my dress on. I feel like a princess. “What do you think, Adalayde? Do I look OK?” “You look perfect,”adalayde replied. “How do I look?” asked Adalayde. She is wearing her red hair in a fancy twist. She also did minimal makeup, and she is wearing a teal-colored corset dress. “You are a sight to behold. I'm going to have to chase all those mateless wolves away with a broom.” I told her. I put my silver heels on along with some simple earrings and my favorite necklace. “I'm ready,” I stated. “Are you ready to go?” I asked.” Yes Bestie, let's go birthday girl. We've got to get Cinderella to her ball.”

We leave the packhouse and go to the event center. All the other guests have already arrived and are seated when we arrive. I see dad right away. “Adalayde, go ahead and find your seat.” Dad said. “OK, Alpha.” “Kyralynn, you got this. Go make them drool.” Adalayde said before leaving to find her seat.

Tink Tink Tink “Attention, Attention. “Please stand and welcome the Birthday girl Kyralynn.” Dad announced. I walked into the event hall and was hit with a tantalizing scent of cinnamon mixed with sandalwood. My mouth is watering and Akyira is going crazy in my head, screaming over and over, Mate. I met his eyes. He is the most handsome man I have ever seen. It is just us as I am gazing into his eyes. “Mate” we said together. I pulled myself away from his eyes and looked around the room. Everyone is still staring at us. I walked over to my mate. “I am Kyralynn”. I put my hand out to shake his hand. “I'm alpha Blayke of the Autumn moon pack. I have been waiting for you all my life. You are the most beautiful woman I have ever met. He places my hand in his. My back started burning and itching. I look at Blayke, trying to figure out why. He, too, looks a little uncomfortable. Before I could think too much about it, Mom and dad ran up to us. “Congratulations baby. You got your wolf and got your fated mate all in the same day. Come on you two, let's go celebrate. Alpha Blayke, you must come sit at our table.” Mom said. “I would really love to, but my pack is at that table over there.” He points across the room, to where his packmates are sitting. “That is not a problem, your pack is welcome at our table as well. Come along now. Autumn Moon pack please come over here. You are all going to sit at our table.” Dad tells them. “Are you sure there is enough room for us? There are 20 of us.” Blayke asks, “ of course there is. We were hoping that Kyralynn would find her mate tonight, so I was prepared if it happened.” Mom told him.

Blayke and I along with his packmates, followed mom to our table. Adalayde is already sitting there. I hear her say Mate! And I looked at where her eyes were looking. She is looking straight at Beta Mycah. I am so excited for her as well.

I wasn't expecting to ever meet my mate. Let alone for her to be the daughter of the alpha of the Silver Leaf pack. But she is so beautiful. I wasn't expecting the reaction that happened when she reached out her hand for me to shake it. I took it and felt my shoulder burning. She is so perfect for us, said Rex. I can't wait to see her wolf. She is special. I could feel it when she touched you. 'What do you mean she is special?' Though, of course, we didn't have time to linger on what that meant. We were led by alpha Dan and Luna Willow to their pack's head table along with my other pack mates. And wow, I guess I'm not the only one to meet my mate that night. It is a great day already. I'm so glad i didn't blow this invitation off even though I kinda did want to at first. Mycah met his mate named Adalayde, who was sitting at our new table. Of course, Mycah was never really good at talking to women, so he just stayed there staring at her. “Since the cat has your mate's tongue at the moment, I'll tell you. Your mate is my Beta Mycah," I told her. Oh boy, Mycah really has fallen head over heals at first sight. This should be interesting. We are gaining two more pack members. I'm excited about the rest of my pack finally meeting their Luna. I have to be patient. Although I have waited for my Luna this long, I can wait a while longer. I can't wait to see her shift. She is beautiful as a human with her silver blonde hair. I wonder what her wolf would look like.
