Kyralynn
I can't believe today is the day I leave the place I've known for my entire life. Kyralynn, you're going to be ok. I can feel your excitement and worry. We are going to be fine. ‘I know it is just new, and you know how I am with change.’ I looked around my empty room one final time, making sure I didn't leave anything behind. Eighteen years of memories hit me as tears rolled down my cheek. Everything I owned was packed into a moving truck along with Adalaydes boxes. I'm just so glad she met her mate in the same pack as mine. I don't know what I would do without her.
I made my way down the stairs into the living room, where mom and dad were waiting for me. “My packing is all finished.” I told them. “Kyralynn, I’m so happy you met your mate. But we will miss you here.” Mom told me while wrapping me in the biggest hug she had ever given me. Dad hugged me next. “I’m really going to miss you baby girl. I thought we would have more time with you. But here we are, and today you start your new life with your mate. I am so proud of you and the woman, Wolf, you have become. You are going to do great things. You will make a great Luna and one day a great mother. I love you, Kyralynn. Never forget that we love you and are always here for you.” Dad told me with tears rolling down his cheeks. I looked over at mom and she too had tear-stained cheeks. I can't hold back the tears any longer, and they come bursting out. I grab ahold of both mom and dad and pull them into a group hug.
Blayke and Mycah walked into the living room, followed by Adalayde. “Are you ready to go, Kyralynn?” Blayke asked me. “Yes I am.” I told him. I watch as Adalayde also says goodbye to my parents. They both give her a hug. I gave my parents one more hug. Then we all headed out to Blaykes’ car. Mycah and Adalayde got in the back seat. Blayke got into the driver's seat. Two of Blaykes pack mates are driving Adalayde and my cars' to the Autumn Moon pack. I decided I didn't want to drive this time. I sat in the front seat and buckled my seatbelt. I looked out at all of the Silver Leaf pack standing there, some in human form, others in wolf form to send us off. I can't help the tears that fell down my cheeks. I have known this pack all my life and I will truly miss them.
Blayke drives away from the packhouse down the road towards my new life.
Blayke
Our mate is crying. FIX IT. ‘Rex she just left the only life she has ever known. Of course she is going to be a little sad. I’m glad Mycahs mate is also her best friend. It will make her adjustment a bit easier.
I feel like I have been driving forever. We left the Silver leaf pack six hours ago. “Blake, do you think we could stop somewhere to get some food?” Kyralynn asked me. “Of course there is a diner up the road a little bit. We can stop there for some food.” I told her.
I pulled into the diner. We all got out of the car. The diner is a small country diner. We entered the diner and found a table that would suit us all. After looking at the menu, we all decided on burgers, onion rings, fries, and chocolate milkshakes. While we waited for our food, we talked among ourselves. I looked around the diner and noticed a small group of wolf shifters sitting at a table across the room. Their focus was on Kyralynn. I don’t like the look of them. I really don't like that they are focused on our mate. It's making me uneasy. Why are they only focused on her? Rex asked ‘I don't like it either, and it also makes me uneasy. Let's just eat our food and get back on the road as soon as we can. Perhaps this is nothing, and I'm just being overly paranoid.’
Our food arrived while I was talking to Rex. “Let's eat quickly. I want to get back on the road.” I told them. I lowered my voice to barely a whisper. “ Not to worry you, but there is a table of wolf shifters that have their focus on you, Kyralynn, and I'm not taking any chances.” “Why are they focused on me? I’m just me, there is nothing special about me.” Kyralynn replied.“I’m not sure and I don't really want to find out right now.” I told her.
We finished our food in record time. We paid for our food and left the tip for the waitress on the table before exiting the building. But not before I caught the scent of the shifters. Rotten eggs. They were rouges. We hurried to the cars. I made sure everyone had seat belts on and pulled out of the diner back onto the road. I looked in the rearview mirror and saw that the rogues were leaving the diner as well. I was feeling really uneasy about this. I want to put as much distance as I can between us and them. “Hold on tight. We have a tail and I have to lose it.” I pushed the gas pedal to the floor. And sped up. ‘We have a tail, and we have to lose it. We need to split up. You all know the way home. I will meet you there tomorrow. Our tail was a little too interested in Kyralynn so you are all going to lead them away from us.’ I linked to my packmates that were following us. I watched in the rearview mirror as the rest of the pack that was traveling with us turned off, and I was glad to see that the rogues were following them. ‘You cannot lead them back to the pack's lands. Do whatever you have to do to lose them. We will see you when you get back. ‘Okay Alpha, We got this.’ my pack linked back. ‘Anything to keep our Alpha and Luna safe.
We drove and drove, only stopping to use the bathroom, refill the gas tank and grab some snacks. Finally, I breathed a sigh of relief as we pulled onto Autumn Moon lands. A weight I didn't even know was over me was finally lifted. I have never been so happy to be home. I'm even more excited that I am finally home with my Luna, my mate. ‘Dad, I have just arrived back on packlands. Meet me at the pack house with mom. I have a surprise for you.’ 'Welcome home son' Dad linked back. I pulled up to the pack house. We all get out of the car, and stretch. Mycah turns to me, “Alpha, I'm so glad we are home. And that we made it here without incident.” “You can say that again. Now to introduce my mate to my parents.”
