Chapter 5

Kyralynn

My party was awesome. Not only did I find my mate, but my best friend, Adelayde, also found her mate. I'm so excited I get to take her with me. That was the only thing about finding a mate that I was worried about. I didn't want to leave my best friend.

‘Dad, can we do a pack run? Since all the guests except the Autumn Moon pack have left?’ I linked. Dad linked back, ‘Of course. You haven't shifted yet. Yes, we need to do this tonight. It's also a full moon tonight, so that is even better.’ ‘Every pack member is to meet us in front of the pack house in 5 minutes for a pack run. It is Kyralynn’s first shift, and we are running as a pack with the Autumn Moon Pack.’ Dad linked to the whole pack.

“Alpha Blayke, we would be honored if you and your pack mates would run in our Kyralynn’s first pack run.” Dad told my mate. “Of course, Alpha Dan, The honor is ours. We will join you.” “My wolf, Rex, is super excited to meet your wolf, Kyralynn.” Blayke said with a huge sexy smile on his face. I didn't think he could get any hotter. But that smile makes my panties almost melt.

“My wolf's name is Akyira” I said to Blayke. “She is super excited to also meet you and Rex too”

Our mate is so hot. I can't wait to meet my mate. Onyx sounds hot. ‘You’ll see him soon.’

Adelaide, Mycah, Blayke and I make our way to the packhouse. I'm pretty anxious about my first shift. We will be OK. I'll do all the work. I do need to warn you, it will hurt for your first shift. Also, they won't be expecting what they will see when we shift. They've never seen a wolf like me. Don't say anything yet. ‘If you are sure, I won't say anything.’ I told Akyira.

“I'm really excited to shift. Akyira is excited as well,” I said. We made it to the packhouse. It looks like everyone is already there. I was the last to arrive.

“Welcome Silver Leaf Pack and Autumn Moon pack members. We are here tonight to witness Kyralynn’s first shift and go with her on her first ever pack run. For those of you who didn't witness it earlier, both Kyralynn and Adelayde found their Fated mates today. Which is why I invited Autumn Moon Pack members to join in this pack run.” Cheers rang up all around.

“Kyralynn, please come up here. It is time for you to shift,” Dad said to me.

Werewolves have no shame in nakedness. We are accustomed to it from early on. “Thank you all for coming to witness this. I'm just a little bit nervous,” I said. “We have all been where you are now. It's OK.” My pack told me.

I turned away from everyone and started undressing. My dress had just landed on the ground, when I heard gasps. “Kyralynn, When did you get a tattoo, and you never told me. I would have gotten one with you.” Adelayde said to me. “What are you talking about? I have never gotten a tattoo.” I stated. “You have a tattoo in the middle of your lower back,” she informed me.

About that, That was the burning and itching you felt at dinner when you touched our mate. I told you we are special, and they have never seen anything like us. Let's shift. Akyira said.

“It's time,” Dad said.

Akyira comes forward, I hear my bones cracking as my body begins to shift. The shift happened very quickly, and it was painless for me.

We stand on four paws. We shake our fur out. I heard gasps all around. I looked around and everyone looked at us. Our mate was standing there in awe.

“Everyone may shift now. Let's run.” Dad said to everyone else.

We watch as Blayke shifts into Rex. Rex is a large wolf with midnight black fur. We go up to him and sniff him. We nip at him and start running towards the forest. Akyira runs as fast as she can. I have never felt so free. We dart in and out of the trees still running. We stop at the bottom of the waterfall. Akyira walks up to the river to get a drink. I saw our reflection for the first time. Akyira’s Fur Is Silver. I had never in my life ever seen a wolf like us. No wonder everyone was staring at us. I thought to myself.

I told you we were special. We are touched by the moon Goddess. Our fated mate was chosen by her for us. That is why a tattoo showed up on your back when you touched your mate. He, too, has a tattoo on his shoulder. The same tattoo that you have on your back. As you and your mate grow closer and finally mate, your mate tattoos will grow to cover you both.

We drank our fill of water, then lay down next to Rex and fell asleep.

Blayke

I watch as Kyralynn undresses. I'm in awe of her, though I know we are good with nudity because we are used to it. I have a dash of jealousy rushing through me because everyone is watching her. She is mine. Ours, Said Rex. I noticed the tattoo that Adalayde made apparent to everyone. It is beautiful. Ivy and flowers wrapping around her back. I have never seen anything like it. It is so intricate and detailed. It is perfect. Before I get a chance to think more about her tattoo, Kyralynn shifts. Her wolf is the most beautiful, unique wolf I have ever seen. She has silver blond fur the same color as Kyralynn's hair. I let Rex come forward and shift. Rex sniffs Akyira and then takes off running after her. We ran after her through the forest, enjoying the wind and the forest floor under our paws. I don't know how much time has gone by as we continued running. Too soon we are stopping by a river with a waterfall. I watch as Akyira is looking at her reflection in the water before taking a much-needed drink. Rex walks up to the river and stands next to Akyira. She is special. Our mating is chosen by the moon goddess herself. Rex told me. You also have a mate tattoo. That will grow as you both get closer and eventually mate. Kyralynn and Akyira are very special. We have to protect them, no matter what. We drink our fill of water, then lay down next to Akyira and watch over them as they fall asleep. ‘How did we get so lucky, Rex, to get them as our mate?’ I don't know, but I am so glad. I'm excited to see what they will do and how powerful they are. Rex told me. Rex lays his head on his paws ready in case anything happens. We eventually drift off to sleep.
