Rescuing Ashlynn

We pulled up to an abandoned hospital about forty minutes later. Grey’s senses are going haywire trying to find his mate. Once he got out of the car he said “this way” then started running. I looked at Alpha Jones who shrugged his shoulders then said “he’s the best chance we’ve got at finding them.” and took off following Grey.

We followed Grey down the long corridors trying our best to stay hidden. Looking at him you could tell his wolf was getting worked up. Once he turned down the last corridor the need to puke was overwhelming. The stench of old blood and bodily fluids rushed at my nose. Grey just kept running. “She’s hurting, oh my god it hurts so bad.” He finally said. “Run faster,” I commanded. Finally we turned into an operating room where we saw Ashlynn tied to a table with silver chains.

Grey ran up to the table “Sweetie open your eyes I know it hurts but I’m here, I’ll help you. Just please open your eyes.” He started saying with tears in his eyes. Ashlynn slowly opened her eyes “I’m sorry but do I know you?” Ash said in a weak voice. “No I guess you don’t I’m Grey your mate. You mind linked me earlier asking me to go get your Alpha and to hurry because someone was trying to kill Kayla. Where’s Kayla, we'll get her out of here too.” He told her. Ashlynn thanked him, telling him Kayla was safe now.

“Everyone who's not an Alpha move away; those chains are silver and only Alpha’s have the strength to fight the effects of silver.” Came Alpha Jones’ command. I moved to one side of Ash while Alpha Jones moved to the other side. “On three grab hold of the chain and pull hard. It’s going to hurt just push through the pain. Ash I’m sorry we’ve got to hurt you just a little bit to free you. Please just try and bear with it, we'll get you and Kayla out of there soon.” Alpha Jones stated then looked at me. “Ready one, two, three.” I pulled so hard like my life depended on it then I heard a c***k and felt the chain break.

As soon as we freed Ash I wanted to pull her into a hug but Grey beat me to it. He picked her up and cradled her telling her he was sorry they didn’t meet sooner. I felt a little piece of me die inside and Trent whined in my head saying “That should be us.” I guess we gave the couple a little too long, as we were turning around to leave a guy walked in looking like he was ready to operate. “What are you doing? That’s my patient, I’m supposed to remove that baby today.” The doctor said trying to get close to Ash to tie her back down.

I grabbed him by the throat “who told you to remove the baby?” I questioned in my Alpha voice. “I was told the baby was a mistake and to get rid of it. I don’t know who hired me, they just said to make sure the baby didn’t survive.” The doctor replied cautiously. I moved to escort Grey and Ashlynn out the door. Just then the doctor pulled something silver out of his pocket and plunged it in Ashlynn’s stomach. I pushed Ash and Grey to Alpha Jones, “GET ASH TO THE CLINIC NOW!! I shouted in my Alpha voice.

As soon as they were gone I grabbed the doctor by the neck. “What the hell was that? Why would you want to hurt someone so innocent? I barked at him. “I’m sorry Alpha, I was just doing my job. I was told not to let that baby live.” He whined. “Yeah well that baby is mine and anyone posing a threat to my daughter must not survive.” I said as I knocked him out. Looking up I saw a guard taking out the last rogue so I told him to lock the doctor up.

Seething, I let Trent out and ran back to the pack. Once we were close I mind linked my brother asking him to bring me a change of clothes. When I was fully dressed I ran to the clinic finding Alpha Jones with his head down looking broken. I walked up to him “Alpha what’s going on, have you heard anything?”

Alpha Jones had a look of regret in his eyes, “the knife used was pure silver. Ash lost a lot of blood and they aren’t sure if they can save the baby. They asked for the father wanting to be able to get permission to terminate the pregnancy.” “I instantly fell. It felt like my whole world was collapsing. We can’t lose Kayla. She’s become such a big part of my life. She’s my baby. I can’t lose her, and I can’t lose Ash.

While I was having a nervous breakdown at the thought of losing my daughter, the doctor came out. “We removed the knife, luckily it wasn’t deep enough to puncture the uterus. The babies fine but the mom is struggling to survive.” He looked at me, “are you the dad?” “Yes the baby is mine,'' I replied brokenly. “We’d like to remove the child to give the mother a better chance at survival.” He said apologetically. “No, give Ash some time, she’s strong she’ll get through this.” I said automatically.

Grey stood up, “I’m her mate, if you have to remove the child to save her life then do it. We can have a child of our own when the time is right for us.” He said to the doctor. I immediately punched him then told him “You just met her 20 minutes ago, you have no right to try and make this decision for her and if you try it again I’ll kill you.” I told him, then rounded on the doctor. “Do everything you can to save Ash and the baby. They both are important.” “As you wish Alpha,” the doctor said then hurried down the hall.

After two more long hours of sitting with no news the doctor finally came out. “She’s weak but she’s awake and asking for Tucker,” he stated. I jumped up and ran to her room. “Hey sweetness, how are you feeling?” I asked, trying to keep the worry out of my voice. “Hey goofball I missed you and Kayla wanted to be with her daddy. She was really worried and never settled down.” She replied

“I hate to say it, but if it wasn’t for your mate Grey we would have never found you. I was so worried, all I wanted to do was hold you and feel Kayla’s little kick’s. I missed you both so much. Please don’t ever scare me like that again.” I told her, then placed a kiss on her forehead, then kissed little Kayla’s bump. “Kayla, my beautiful little girl, daddy’s here. I’m so sorry I wasn’t with you this past week but I’m so thankful you helped your mommy stay strong and came back to me.” Once I said this I felt Kayla kick then looked at Ashes eyes and noticed they had golden flecks.

“I love you too little one, but don’t worry I’m ok. Save your strength and let mommy rest. You both have had a horrible experience, and I don’t think mommy’s up for you to come play just yet.” I told my daughter. Soon Ashes eyes went back to normal and I felt Kayla settle down in Ashes tummy. “Ash I hate to do this but your mate Grey is outside and would really like to meet you. Would you like to meet him as well?” I asked hoping she’d say no. “Only if you stay here with me. I don’t want you to leave my side just yet. You’re the only one who can keep Kayla calm enough.” She stated. I nodded then went to the door and motioned for Grey and Alpha Jones to come in.

Ash tensed up when she seen Grey, Tucker noticing this moved to introduce them. “Grey this is Ashlynn, Ash this is Grey. If it wasn’t for your mate's bond we would have never found you.” Tucker said, trying to ease the tension in the room. Grey went to Ashes bed and tried to give her a hug so he could get a good scent from her but she shied away.

Instead she motioned for Tucker to come closer. “Sit close Kayla is going crazy.” She whispered to Tucker when he leaned down. “Tucker pulled up the chair on the other side of Ashlynn, before sitting down he whispered to Ash's belly. “Calm down little princess, I know mommy’s nervous but her mate’s beside her so she needs to get to know him.” “Can I meet him daddy?” Came Kayla’s little voice in the mind link. Chuckling Tucker replied “Not yet honey let mommy get to know him a little first.” Tucker heard Kayla pouting before he cut the mind link.

“So...I’m not good at this.” Grey admitted looking Ash dead in the eyes. “Me either,” Ash admitted blushing a little. “So, I heard you’re pregnant.” Grey said sadly. “Yes, I’m having a girl, we’ve decided to name her Kayla. I’m sorry it looks like I didn’t wait for you, but if you decide to stay for a while then I’ll fill you in on everything.” Ash said looking down at her baby bump.

“Even though you are having a baby I’m guessing with this guy,” he said looking towards Tucker. “I’m going to be here, right beside you, helping you the best I can. Just as long as everything we do he doesn’t have to tag along.” Ash looked deep into his eyes and was able to tell he was being very honest. Laughing Ash replied, “No he won’t always be around, most of the time he’s gonna be with Alpha Jones training to be an Alpha. “He’s here right now because Kayla’s a daddy’s girl and only calm’s down for him. When she finished saying this she had a big grin on her face.

Grey looked at me then looked at Ash, then back at me “You’re going to be an Alpha?” he screeched out . “Correction: I am an Alpha, I just need to hone my skills a little bit more before I take over the pack. Ash here is a Luna, but like she said it’s complicated and in time we will explain everything that’s going on.”

“Daddy is mommy ok?” Kayla asked through the mind-link. “Yes sweetheart, why what’s wrong?” Tucker replied to his daughter. “Mommy’s heartbeat is going really fast and I can’t fall asleep.” came Kayla’s quick reply. “Ok honey, let me see what I can do.” Tucker said with gentleness. After closing the mind link Tucker turned to Ashlynn and Grey, “Sorry for making you guys have to cut things short, but Kayla just said her mommy’s heart is racing and she can’t sleep.”

Ashlynn begrudgingly said goodbye to Grey and promised to see him the next day. After a quick hug Grey gave her his number and she promised to call him if she needed anything. When Grey left the room Ash looked at Tucker, “can you stay with me tonight? I don’t feel like being alone right now and Kayla’s been really worked up, plus Addy has been whining for Trent giving me a non-stop headache.” “Of course, I’ve missed Kayla as well, plus Trent’s been threatening me that if I didn’t bring Addy and Kayla back safely that he’d never talk to me again.”

Once I replied Alpha Jones stood up “well that’s my cue to leave goodnight you two. Don’t stay up too late and please let the little one get some sleep.” Then he walked out the door letting us get some rest. Tucker pulled the couch a little closer then placed a gentle kiss on Ash’s belly, “goodnight my little one. Remember daddy loves you and always will.” “Goodnight daddy, Goodnight mommy.” Came a soft sleepy reply. Then Tucker turned out the lights and laid down on the couch before going to sleep.
