Telling our parents

Ashlynn’s POV

Me and Tucker sat at our spot for almost two hours before mind linking our parents. Tucker’s parents agreed to meet us at my house in 45 minutes giving us enough time to get there. The drive home consisted of us wondering who lil Kayla Rose would look like. Wondering how we could make “us” work and pledging to be the best parents we could possibly be to our little blessing.

When we pulled up to my house about 35 minutes later I was so nervous. I knew if we could hear our babies heartbeat then our parents would be able to as well. We waited in his SUV until his parent’s pulled up, then we slowly got out and walked them in. Once inside my mom pulled me into a hug and dad gave me a weird look. I looked at Tucker and he gave me a reassuring nod and smile, so I asked our parents to come sit in the living room.

Once everyone sat down I looked at Tucker nervously and he took the hint. “Me and Ashlynn have some news,” he started. “I knew you two were mates.” His dad jumped in happily. “No dad, we aren’t mates technically but the news we have is good.” He replied. Everyone went silent trying to figure out what the news was gonna be, then a “hang on” came from my mom. “Does anyone else hear that?” She asked. Soon as the other 3 wolves picked up on the sound they all turned to look at me and Tucker.

“YOU’RE PREGNANT!” Came from my father. Eyes cold and anger in his voice. I couldn’t look at him so I looked at Tucker who nodded at my father. My dad jumped up and got in my face yelling “You will not have this child. I refuse to let you have a child who isn’t your mates and before you’re married!” “I’m sorry dad I’m not getting rid of this baby, she’s meant to be here. The moon goddess gave her to me, to us and told our wolves to take very special care of her.” I quietly replied. Tucker's dad got in his face and yelled at him a bunch of stuff I really wish I hadn't heard but will never repeat. Then our worst nightmare came: his dad’s eyes fogged over telling us he was mind-linking someone.

Within 15 minutes there was a knock on the door. My dad got up to answer it still with an angry look on his face. We heard the door open then my dad saying “Good evening Alpha Jones please come in.” We heard footsteps coming our way then a few minutes later saw Alpha Jones.

“Good evening Alpha” came from all around the room. Alpha Jones looked around the room then looked at Tucker’s dad “Beta Jim what can I help you with this evening?” Alpha Jones asked “Alpha I hate to drag you into family affairs, but our son next in line to be beta is telling us he’s having a baby outside of his mateship.” Tucker’s dad explained. Alpha Jones looked at Tucker then at me and asked if this was true to which we both nodded yes.

“Care to explain yourselves?” Alpha Jones asked both of us. I looked at Tucker then said, “two weeks ago we finished our work with my uncle and decided to go for a run. We let our wolves out and went to this creek we found. After walking a bit we came to a field that completely took over our senses and our wolves mated.” I purposely left out the fact that me and Tucker had s*x in human form since I didn’t think everyone needed to know that.

“I see, do you remember where this field is?” Alpha Jones asked. We both nodded and looked down at our feet. “Take me there now” Alpha Jones stated looking at our parents he told them to stay. We drove in silence until we got close to the creek, then got out and started the walk. Coming closer to the field Alpha Jones told us to stop. “I see why your wolves mated without being mates.” He quickly stated. “ This field you’ve brought me to is full of moon flowers, which makes werewolves think the person they're with is their mate and you came here in wolf form which makes it harder for them to resist.” Me and Tucker looked at each other clearly baffled.

Alpha Jones laughed at us then asked “you’ve only mated the one time right?” We both replied “yes.” “You said it was two weeks as well right?” Again we both replied “yes.” “Well I’m not sure how you know you’re pregnant. It takes at least 6 weeks for a werewolf pregnancy to show up and wolves don’t get pregnant without the person being their mate.” Alpha Jones quickly stated

“Alpha I’m sorry to disappoint you but both of our wolves told us about our daughter today. My wolf told me to find Tucker then go somewhere quiet and listen. When we got to a spot that was quiet enough we could hear the baby's heartbeat.” I calmly stated. Alpha Jones listened to my words then fell quiet and listened for a minute. Once he heard it he looked at both of us stunned. “Are you sure this happened two weeks ago?’ he asked. We both nodded yes. “You’re sure you want to keep this baby knowing that you’re not mates?” Alpha Jones asked with an already knowing look on his face.”Alpha I would lay my life down for my daughter to have just one breath in this world.” Tucker stated so fast that I turned to look at him.

“Well this is very unusual” Alpha Jones replied then slapped Tucker on the shoulder and said “Congratulations son, the road ahead is gonna be bumpy. Everyone will look down on both of you. It will take a lot of work but if you two, the parents of this little miracle, decide this baby is worth keeping then I’m not gonna get in your way.” Turning to look at me Alpha Jones said “let’s get you to the pack doctor to check up on our newest pack member.”

Tucker gave me a huge smile then pulled me in for a kiss. Alpha Jones shook his head and said “If you keep doing that you’re gonna have a hard time proving to me that you’re not mates” chuckling. The ride to the clinic was short, Alpha Jones asked how we knew we we’re having a girl? We both replied “Our wolves told us.” Alpha Jones looked at me then Tucker puzzled. “Trent told me that the baby's heart rate is that of a girl, right as Addy told Ashlynn.” Tucker explained to Alpha Jones right as we pulled up to the clinic.

Once at the clinic Alpha Jones explained the situation to the doctor who listened carefully and heard the baby’s heartbeat as well. She congratulated us and prescribed some vitamins then told me to come back in two weeks for a check-up.

Alpha Jones took us back to my house, and came inside with us. He looked at our parents “Congratulations you’re gonna be grandparents and from your children’s wolves sounds like the baby is gonna be a girl.” Alpha Jones told them. “Alpha how could you let this happen, this baby isn’t supposed to be here these two aren’t even mates.” Beta Jim asked him, fuming mad again. “Beta Jim I can’t explain why or how this new little one came to be, or even how their wolves could tell she was pregnant since most wolves don’t know they are carrying young until 6 weeks after mating, but this child is on her way so we all better get prepared. Alpha Jones replied.

My dad stood up and came to me “Ash, are you sure you want this child?” “Yes father, me and Tucker have been talking all day we don’t know what lies ahead. Or even what will happen when either of us finds our true mates, but we both know this baby, our daughter, is meant to be here and we’ll give her any and everything we possibly can.” I replied to my father. “Tucker, are you gonna help my daughter take care of your daughter when she arrives?” My father asked. “Yes sir, I can't explain it. I never wanted children until I heard her little heartbeat today. I’ll admit I’m scared like no other but I wouldn't give up Kayla Rose for anything. Tucker replied honestly. My dad had a bewildered look “Kayla Rose?” “Yes dad, Kayla after your twin that died before birth and Rose after Tucker's grandmother.

“Well I hate to interrupt this conversation but I’ve got to be going. Ash and Tucker need to report to the pack house in an hour. Now that you’re going to be parents, it's required during pregnancy and during the first year of the child’s life, for yours and the child’s safety. Mr. and Mrs. Seto, Beta Jim Mrs. Rayne I trust you’ll have no issues with helping these two get to the pack house would you?” Alpha Jones asked. “No Alpha” they all said in unison.
