Locking the door and boarding a cab, Anna drove off but just at the corner, completely hidden in the evening shadow, Gina popped out her head with a sigh. Her mind raced back to the dinner. She had just stepped out of the bathroom to see Anna conversing with Ethan, though they were completely inaudible, it bothered her. It shouldn't have, but why would they suddenly have much to talk about immediately she left. Anna had been completely silent at the table, a stark contrast to the Anna Presley she had for a best friend. The amused expression on Ethan's face bothered her even more, and why would they both lie to her about talking about nothing when she returned to the table? She really had no plans of presenting Ethan to Anna until maybe they get married with two kids. Anna might have been her savior and best friend in highschool but she always had to hide under Anna's shadow. Completely happy and sad when Anna left Oakdale after highschool, she was finally noticed for her and not some random girl that followed the pretty Miss Presley around. She finally had a name to her face and of all people that noticed her was Ethan. The Ethan Anderson. Every single guy she dated in the past always wanted Anna the moment she introduced Anna to them, but she made a big catch this time. Tears seemed to form in her eyes as she sniffed it back in, taking out her phone and dialling the love of her life. Ethan picked after two rings. "Babe", his voice broke through and her tears fell. She realized how much she wanted to be called that by him and no one else for the rest of her life. "Hmm", she smiled even though he couldn't see her. "You're in the hospital yet?", he asked and she still nodded as though he could see her, replying with a "yes", when she realized herself. "Where you at? It's kinda noisy", she asked. "Uhmmm.. yeah", he chuckled, "went out to meet a few friends, would be headed home soon", he answered and she shut her eyes, waving off the thought that he was meeting with Anna. Anna wouldn't do that to her right? They're best friends. "Okay. Just called to know if you got home safely", she said.. "Yeah. Thanks. Talk to you later babe", Ethan voiced and ended the call. Gina wiped her tears and flagged down a cab since she was late for work already, she couldn't wait to take the bus. But right now her mind was clouded with thoughts. Anna never mentioned going out, and besides she knows no one here in Oakdale asides herself. It wasn't Ethan's first time of hanging out with his friends either, but right now, she couldn't help but think he was lying. She knew so well Anna had a huge crush on Ethan Anderson. Everyone did, but she wouldn't do that to her, right? "Anna wouldn't", Gina muttered to herself.. . Meanwhile, Ethan killed the engines just before his building and alighted, making sure he locked the doors. He took the elevator up, only for the doors to whizz open and display a princess in a pretty red dress standing beside his door. Okay maybe an angry little bird, as she was constantly tapping her foot on the ground. He chuckled and took a moment to stare at her. "She's pretty", he murmured. He didn't need a soothsayer to know it was Anna Presley. Surprisingly, she'd been stuck in his head all day. Smiling, he walked up the her, "Anna?" He called and in a nanosecond, her bag swung across his face, from right to left, hitting his cheek so bad that it left a mark. "You slimy d**k!!", she raged heaving so heavily Ethan could barely comprehend a thing. It took a few minutes to blink away the shock as he turned to her. "You think you're a god? Do girls fall at your feet and you thought Gina and I should be added to that list you cunt!!!" "Wow, you really disgust me. I'm ashamed of myself for having crushed on you, you bastard!", her nostrils flared in rage as the elevator doors opened again and an elderly woman stepped out. She was Ethan's next door neighbor on the same floor. She stood staring at the duo weirdly causing Ethan to chuckle and greet. Hastily, he opened the door and pulled Anna in. "Let go of me pig!", she cussed and he scoffed. At this point, he should really curse the day he ran into her. "Pig? Cunt? Bastard? Slapping me hard across my face?", he chuckled walking up to her while she took steps backward till her back reached the wall. "What's your deal?", he whispered huskily, caging her carefully. His scent filled her nostrils and she whimpered yet regaining her composure as she pushed him away. He must be sick to think she'd fall for him again. "I don't know how long you've lied to Gina. How many girls you've slept with before me but if you don't love her, then stay away from her. Gina deserves all the happiness she can get....." "What about you?", Ethan cut her off with a smirk. "You seemed really happy to run into me. And that night, I'm sure you're sober enough to remember you came onto me. I didn't force you, did I?", he chuckled and walked away into the living room as he undid his buttons. Anna raced after him only to meet a shirtless hot alluring Ethan Anderson staring back at her. Her feet wobbled and her throat went dry. "You were saying?", he arched a brow at her, a wide grin tugging at his lips. "I'm going to keep that night a secret, but if you think you could two-time best friends and get away with it? Wake up!", she hissed aloud and walked closer to him, "cut all games and be good to Gina else... "Else what?" He closed the gap between them, causing Anna to look up and meet his gaze, she smirked and stomped hard on his foot with her sneaker. Ethan yelped in pain, limping on one foot as he sat immediately and grabbed the other. She flipped her hair with a scoff, "it'll be your balls next", she turned and left his house. . By morning, Anna Presley woke up to a mail. She sat up with a smile and Gina walked in almost immediately. Proudly, she turned to her best friend. "I told you I'd get it", she giggled. Thankfully, she'd passed the first interview by the hospital and was invited for an in-person interview tomorrow at the hospital. "I'm happy for you", Gina smiled sincerely as she fell on the bed beside her. Anna grinned at the mail one last time, before turning to Gina, "you should have told me it was Ethan Anderson of all people. I'm really happy for you". Gina smiled, "I know right?" "It must have been boring at home. Did you go out last night?", she arched a brow at Anna, who only smiled in response. "Where would I possibly go?"
