Enedina "Enedina!! OPEN THE DOOR!!!!" "What?!! Wait!!!" I got up and opened the door for my mom.  "Why would you bolt the door? You know you have bad dreams. How are we supposed to get in?" she asked in a worried tone.  "I'm sorry, I was changing and then I forgot to open it" I explained.  "Okay! But next time you better take care. Speaking of which, did you sleep well last night?" she inquired. Last night. Oh, shoot.  "Yes, I slept well, thank you," I told her. Well, it was true. After that dream(?) I slept perfectly well.  "Good. Now get ready for school" my mom commanded.  "Yes, ma'am!!!" I replied with a chuckle. Once she was outside the room, I rushed for the window. It was locked from inside.  Of course, it's locked you, i***t. That was a dream. Thank Goodness. Enedina Renderville High, a typical high school. And it was the start of our junior year. We have the popular kids, the jocks, the nerds, the geeks and the loners. The hallway was full of people like every other day. People were talking in groups, guys discussing video games, sports, girls, and God knows what. There were a few nerds here and there reading Advance Chemistry(?). And there comes the Alley Cats. Renderville High's cheerleading squad. Every boy wanted them and every girl wanted to be them. Well, not every girl if you count me. Well, no hard feelings, but I am not made for sports. Even though I'm friends with most of them. Especially the Captain. Speaking of which, where is that b***h?  "Ennie, I missed you so much." and a short girl (5'2') with wheatish skin, dimpled cheeks, and burgundy hair came out of nowhere and hugged me hard. Suzanne Wasburn, my best friend from freshman year.  "I missed you too, Susie, but you can really try not to hug me that hard. I'm not a hugger." I choked.  "Oh Shut Up You, b***h. Soon we'll be having try-outs for the team and I would be busy. I won't be able to see you," she said wiping imaginary tears from her cheeks.  "Oh, I'm flattered," I said with a laugh.  "Will you please go somewhere and die?" she said with a raised eyebrow.  "Not in the mood," I said with a wink. And we both laughed. "Hey you two!" a red-streaked blonde-haired girl with brown eyes, Jane said pushing us into a group hug. She is the Spotter.  "You're choking me" I complained. We all laughed.  "How have you been?" I asked Jane.  "Oh, I was great. I went to Disneyland with my parents," Jane said nostalgically.  "Wow!! You're so lucky." Susie agreed.  "I went to my parent's beach house." She added.  "And you were seeing someone? Tell me all about it." Jane said excitedly.  "Ohh! I will at the lunch" Susie repeated with the same enthusiasm.  "What did you do, En?" Jane asked.  "Don't tell me you stayed at home and read novels?" Susie said with furrowed brows.  "Don't give me that look, missy. Novels are great. And I did go out for shopping. Plus, my cousin came over. We had a small trip." I added to seem interesting.  "Oh, your cousin from London? He's so cute. Man, I wanted to meet him.'' Jane complained. I laughed.  "Oh what about that guy you were seeing last week?" Suz asked.  "Which one exactly?" I asked her.  "Oh En, I'm so worried about you sometimes," she said in despair.  "Oh, you're always worried about me Suz," I said jokingly.  Here's a thing about me. I don't do relationships or love. I approach the guy who catches my attention, go out on few dates, make out and move one to another. No love lost No love found. I've gotta career to pursue, there's no space for emotions. There's no time to fall in love.  "Hey! why don't you try for the cheer-leading team?" Suz asked.  "No way!! You know I suck at sports." I said defensively.  "Plus, someone's always busy at the library," Jane teased.  "Bookworm" Susie teased.  "So what? Books are your best friend." I said with a smirk. "How swiftly you dismissed our love," Susie said.  "Hey! that's my line" I complained.  "Apparently, you read it in some book!" she justified. I gave her my Whatever-look. Ring-Ring "Oh, it's time for class. See you later guys!" Jane squeezed our hands and retired.  "See ya," I said back. I took my book from my locker and said my goodbyes to Susie who in turn went to her class.
