Prologue
Six years had passed since the fall of the Icrazia Empire on the Planet Uthred. On the day King Hendrik and his Enchantress Ice Queen, Kayna, ascended the throne of Icrazia and brought the entire realm under their servitude, a lovely girl named Eva was born.
As the nurse cared for Queen Kayna and King Hendrik gazed upon his wife and child, he grinned for the first time in his life. "She looks great," the nurse commented. "Yes, she does, guards!" replied Queen Kayna while holding her infant, as guards approached. "Pluck this nurse's eyes out, she has maintained a careful eye on my daughter's beauty," remarked Queen Kayna.
"Yes, my Queen," responded the guards as they grabbed the nurse while she began to beg. "My Queen, No! I swear, I did not wish any harm to your child, please forgive me if I wrongly intended anything," wailed the nurse. "You have a sharp tongue as well, pull it out from her as well," stated Queen Kayna as she continued snuggling her daughter.
"No, please, my king, please show mercy!" begged the nurse as the guards carried her away. King Hendrik sat close to the Queen as they both stared at their lovely daughter. "Doesn't she look more like me? Really wonderful," exclaimed Queen Hendrik. "Not really, look at her, she's wonderful," remarked King Hendrik.
Queen Kayna glanced at him in fury. "What? Did I say something wrong?" inquired King Hendrik. "You are a sorcerer, that is what. Enough snuggling with the baby, we have more work to do now that you're not pregnant anymore," remarked King Hendrik. "I am her mother, I shall snuggle her until the ends of the Uthred," stated Queen Kayna.
"That will be tomorrow as the crust is crumbling, you must return to complete the magic," remarked King Hendrik. "Right, I forgot... it's been months, but I shall get to it. My king, would you like to have the child then?" questioned Queen Kayna. "No, I have an army to destroy. Perhaps you should have considered that before you sent the nurse to execution," stated King Hendrik.
"I didn't do it, you did. I only imposed a tiny penalty for setting eyes upon my daughter," exclaimed Queen Kayna as suddenly sounds of people fighting could be heard from a distance. "I don't have time to fight with you. Do whatever you will with the child, but execute that spell. That is my order," muttered King Hendrik as he rushed out of the room with his guards, leaving Queen Kayna ministering to her daughter.
Meanwhile, in the Georgia Clinic in the distant town of Xesal, a mother who had just given birth to a boy suddenly received an unexpected visit from her cousin, who burst into the Clinic, scaring everyone. "Edward!" exclaimed the mother. "Quick, we must hide immediately!" cried Edward.
"Why? What's wrong?" said the mother. "Your sister has been accused of witchcraft by the elder. I don't know how, but they are chasing us. Grandpa advised us to meet by the caravan. Come on," replied Edward as he hastily began to collect their belongings. "I don't understand... My sister isn't a witch. Why are they chasing us if my sister did something? And where will we hide?" wondered the mother.
"I do not know, but we can't risk it. What's his name?" questioned Edward, pointing to the newborn. "Edward, named after the guy who is saving his life" responded the mother as she picked up her baby. "Let's go, then. We have to move quickly," said Edward as he led the way out of the clinic.
As they made their way through the town, they could hear the sound of horses and shouting in the distance. They knew they had to find a safe place to hide before they were caught. Edward led them to a small alleyway, where they hid behind some crates.
"We can't stay here for long. They'll find us eventually," whispered the mother. "I know. We have to keep moving. But where do we go?" replied Edward.
Soon they began to stampede out of the kingdom stealthily. As guards patrolled here and there, they began dashing past buildings until they eventually approached the main gate, which was encircled by guards.
"There's no way beyond this," stated Edward. "Actually, there is, see," remarked the mother, pointing out to the stage actors who were exiting after their concert.
"Quickly, come," urged Edward, snatching the mother's hand along with the youngster to the stage performers. "Who are you both?" said the leader of the stage player, Mr. Burton. "Please, father, assist us, for the child's sake," begged the mother.
Burton glanced upon the youngster, then considered for a bit until he nodded and chose to take them inside his caravan when suddenly, horns started blowing as everyone paused for a moment. "What is that?" inquired the mother. "Dragons, crap, Dragons! hide!" screamed Burton as he dashed towards safety while the villagers panicked. Just suddenly, a dragon rose from the sky, burning the inn as it approached closer. The troops began rushing towards catapults and began hitting the dragon as it burst the town in flames.
Edward, studying the scene as he kept the woman and kid under cover, observed the guards were no longer manning the gate. "This is our opportunity, come on!" exclaimed Edward as he grabbed the mother's hand and walked immediately to the gate. The dragon plagued the entire town in flames, proving to be unstoppable as guards tried to beat it off with spears and catapults. Just as Edward reached out of the main gate, the dragon glanced at him departing as it landed.
"It is gazing at us, why is it looking at us?" said the mother as she rushed. The dragon hovered overhead and rushed right towards them as it was going to blast them in flames. Just as it approached close, it spread out its flame while the mother covered her infant in dread, but strangely, not a single fire hit them. She glanced aloft in amazement to discover a massive half dome in the sky blocked the flame from hitting her.
It seemed to be magically charmed as the mother turned to see where it was being cast from and spotted her rescuer to be none other than the Powerful Magician in all of Uthred, Slaca. The dragon infuriated as it flew back to land after soaring high above. "You shall harm no man or woman till I live, beast!" shouted Slaca who performed numerous additional spells to battle the dragon.
As they battled, the mother leaned towards Edward, who had fainted following the strike of the dragon. "Edward! get up, we need to go, Edward!" cried the mother. Edward eventually woke up but still felt uneasy.
"What, what's going on?" inquired Edward. "Edward, we need to go, where is the caravan?" questioned the mother. "The caravan? wait, the caravan! we should leave!" shouted Edward who proceeded to get up and drag the mother with him as he fled, but soldiers surrounded them as they attempted to catch them.
Meanwhile, Slaca almost killed the dragon and attempted to bind him into his casted runes, but abruptly was interrupted as he heard the mother wailing as she was removed from her kid by the guards.
"No, leave them be!" exclaimed Slaca when suddenly the dragon broke free of his clutches. "Oh crap," exclaimed Slaca as the dragon roared and flew straight for him as he dodged away, to which it turned its target onto the youngster.
"No! I will not allow you!" cried the woman as she broke free and rushed to get her child back from the guards just as the Dragon began to approach.
Slaca used magic once more and attempted to bind the Dragon back, but unintentionally attached the spell to the infant, producing a massive burst.
As the smoke cleared and the dust settled, the villagers gathered at the battlefield to find nothing but glass and scorched corpses. However, they began to hear the voice of a baby nearby.
They raced towards the baby's voice and found the infant alive and healthy, while everyone else was converted to ashes. Burton ran towards the infant and held him in his arms. The baby grinned and rested his palm on Burton's cheek, tears streaming from his eyes. Just then, more stage performers arrived to join him. "I can't believe it, he's alive. Wait, how is he alive?" said Tim the small.
"Who cares? He's alive, and he looks gorgeous," exclaimed Meiuka. "Look at his arm," stated a stage performer, pointing to the baby's arm, inscribed with a few letters from the draconic language, the same as the runes Slaca had cast. "What shall we do? We can't leave him alone?" questioned Tim the small.
"We're not leaving him," responded Burton.
"Are you mad? We can't, if someone finds out," remarked a stage performer before getting interrupted by Burton.
"No one will. Now bring the caravan. We're leaving before the guards arrive," stated Burton.
"You're serious, Burton? Icrazia is not a place for a child," stated Meiuka.
"I couldn't save his mom. The least I could do is help her child. Quit complaining and let's get on with it," stated Burton, continuing to advance the Caravan with the other stage performers.
