Let's play a game

1502 Words
Dear me, I'm hanging out with Brooke today, she's coming over to my house. I don't really know what we're gonna do. I'm honestly really nervous, I never really had a friend. I still don't know Brooke very well and she doesn't know me very well. I just hope I can get some words out of my mouth to her. I can only talk to Chloe, Steph, Sherley and Jack and it annoys me so much that I never can get a word out to anyone else. It kills me cause I know it makes me really awkward and then I just say stupid things, when I'm confident around people I say less stupid things, or it seems like that cause I talk more. Does that make sense? No it doesn't, k bye. Sincerely me. I get out of my bed and get dressed. It's still pretty early. It's 10 am, Brooke is coming over at 1 pm so I have some time to kill before she comes. I get into Chloe's room to see if she is up yet but she isn't yet. I close the door behind me as I walk into Chloe's room. She's sound asleep in her bed all wrapped into a blanket. It's so cute. She is so cute. I get on her bed and hover over her and kiss her forehead. Her eyes slowly open. "Hey sunshine." I say and laugh a little. She grunts and moves on her side facing her back at me. She's not a morning person at all. "Fine I'll leave." I say not meaning to sound offended or anything. "Wait." Chloe says as I'm opening the door about to leave. "You know I love you right?" She says and I nod. "Yeah I know, go back to sleep so I can have loving Chloe back." I say and laugh a little. "This is your future babe, get used to it." She says and I laugh. "I love you." I say and leave her room. I go downstairs to eat breakfast and get surprised by Brooke already sitting in the kitchen next to Jack. I thought she was coming at 1. What do I do now? I'm not prepared. I didn't even eat breakfast yet. I didn't shower, I didn't brush my teeth. "Hey! I'm sorry I'm a little early I was just excited to see you." Brooke says when she sees me walking into the kitchen. She walks over to me and gives me a hug. She's excited to see me? Why? I hug her back awkwardly. "Um it's okay." I say quietly and unsure. Gosh why do I have to be so nervous all the freaking time. "What um, do you wanna do?" I ask her quietly but I think she understood me. "I'll leave you girls alone so you can have a good time." Jack says. He takes his coffee that he was drinking and he walks off to his office. Great now I'm alone with her which makes me even more nervous. Not that I don't like Brooke. She's a great person I just get so god damn nervous around her cause she's pretty popular and I'm, well, a nobody. "Well I was thinking we could just hang out here and talk since we don't really know each other yet." Brooke says and smiles. I wish I was as confident as her. "Of course you'd have to speak too." Brooke says laughing and I laugh too. I know she doesn't mean it to offend me and just says it as a joke so I don't take it personally. We go up to my room. I sit down on my bed and she sits down on my desk chair that's literally never been used since I sit in my bed for everything that I do. "How has your summer been?" Brooke asks me. I take a deep breath and find the courage to speak to talk as a normal person. "Um London I to went." I say nervously. That was not normal and not english. Good job Emma. "What?" She asks me laughing. "Sorry I um don't know why I'm so nervous." I say nervously and play with my hands as I look at it. "It's okay, take you time." She says calmly. I take my time, as she said, to speak again. "I um went to London." I say more like a normal person this time. "Oh that's great, I bet you saw a lot of Harry Potter stuff." Brooke says. She knows I like Harry Potter, stalker much. "Um yeah, how do you know I like Harry Potter?" I say a little freaked out. "Well you wear that sweater everyday." Brooke says pointing to my sweater that I'm currently wearing of course. "And the neckless." She says. I look at the neckless and take it in my hand so I could look at it better as I think about the night Chloe gave it to me and how we both said I love you for the first time to each other. "It was just a wild guess." Brooke says laughing, interupting my thoughts. "Oh well good guess." I say laughing. "So, how was yours?" I say a little awkward and she looks at me confused. "Your summer I mean." I say. "Oh well pretty boring actually, My parents are out of town the whole summer pretty much because of their work and almost all my friends are out of town too so I haven't really done much." She says and looks a little sad. "Hey don't be sad, there's still a month left of vacation and we could hang out more." I say trying to cheer her up a bit. She smiles at that. "Thanks." She says. "That's the first time you didn't sound nervous around me, I'm proud of you." Brooke says and I laugh. It's true, when I try to cheer someone up I'm usually confident with what I say, that's something I like about myself. "Let's play a game, to get to know each other a little better." Brooke says and she moves over to me on the bed and sits next to me. I don't say anything and just wait for her to say what game. "Two truths and a lie." Brooke says. "Okay." I say. We both sit in silence for a while until Brooke says that she'll start. "Okay first thing, I'm from New York hoping I'll return there in a few years." She says and I nod. "I'm a Leo, and I'm ambidextrous." She finishes her 3 things. I think of what could be her lie. "I don't think you're from New York." I say and she looks defeated. "Oh you got me, I'm actually from California." She says and I nod. "Okay your turn." Okay um three things about me. "I'm a Virgo, I used to be wanting to be a pirate and when I lived with my parents still I had a cat named Bubble." She looks at me trying to figure out what the lie is. "There's no way you wanted to be a pirate." She says looking deep into my eyes. "No actually I never had a cat named Bubble." I say. "You wanted to be a pirate?" She asks me laughing. "Yeah, well before Harry Potter came into my life, now I just wanna be a wizard." I say laughing. We keep laughing together until we get interupted by Chloe who came in my room. "Hey." She says looking at me. "Hey." I say smiling. She comes over to me not laying a single stare on Brooke who was sitting right next to me. "We're almost going to eat lunch." Chloe says to me while Brooke is still sitting besides me. Chloe told me Brooke used to be a friend of hers but she never said what happened cause by the looks of it they aren't friends right now. "Okay, we'll be right down." I say to Chloe. "Can I talk to you for a little?" She asks me and I nod. I get up and follow Chloe out of my bedroom, leaving Brooke there alone. We walk into Chloe's bedroom and she closes the door. "Why'd you wanna talk?" I ask her confused. "Nothing, I just missed you." She says and pushes me to the wall and kisses me hard. "Chloe." I say in between kisses trying to get her attention back. I push her off of me maybe a little too aggresive. "Brooke is right out there." I say not wanting anyone to find out. "I'm sorry, I miss kissing you." Chloe says and kisses me once again. "We can spend time together tonight when she's gone okay?" I ask her and she nods. I kiss her softly again and then go back to my room. Brooke was on her phone doing something. "Lunch is ready, we better get downstairs." I say. She looks up from her phone and smiles. "Okay let's go."
