Before they left at the silver deer. Alice bought another expensive hat. It was a gentleman hat for ladies that is adorned by flowers. It was expensive to the point it cost 30,000 florins. Everything in this store is expensive. It feels like if he was an average person, he wouldn’t even dare to enter this store.

Now that she immediately wore her purchased garments. Alice walked proudly to the pavement flaunting her gifts from his brother Gerald. Then Gerald looked at his watch and saw that the time is 30 minutes before 5:00 p.m. A time when they didn’t arrive at the given time. There will be a punishment.

Therefore, they entered the car and left the business district hoping to catch up in time. Gerald is driving fast so that he can get home early but her sister is worried that she pinched his arms to slow down.

With that, Gerald doesn’t want to leave the car at all.

“Uhm, Brother? Why are you not leaving the car?”

“Because there will be a punishment!”

Alice stepped out of the car and talked to Catarina.

Arriving at the conclusion, instead of being mad at her behavior, she just praised her garments.

The royal guards, Catarina and Gerald baffled at her proud declaration.

When Gerald explained the situation, Alice was now in a state of sadness, bowing her head as if she was rejected by her love.

Moments later the three went to the dining hall of the royal palace. Anne, the personal maid of Gerald started handing out the platter filled with cookies.

“What is this?” Gerald said.

“That’s a cookie, I bake that for you, and as your punishment. You’ll need to eat those cookies I prepared for you.”

She said crossed arms with her eyes closed not looking at him. Is she still bothered by the marriage thing? Even though he explained that it is completely ridiculous to think that with your sister. Anyways, the confection presented in the plates is a different variety. There is a chocolate flavor, strawberry flavor, mango flavor, and so on.

Is this considered punishment? Gerald will likely have the honor to eat her fiance’s cookies. Cookies are one of his favorites. If the cookies are baked by her lovely future wife. Then he will do the honor of eating all of them.

“Then, let’s eat,” Gerald said and followed by her sister Alice.

As expected. Her baking skills are superb. Every piece of cookies is delicious. He then picked up again, and another, and another. Until the cookie is gone on his plate. He didn’t realize it though.

Catarina was smiling at them genuinely to the fact that they enjoyed her baking.

Anne who was standing beside Gerald was tempting to try one. But it would be rude if she intrudes her arms to Gerald’s plate.

There are still more cookies on the table and the aroma of freshly baked cookies is charming the maid around them.

Gerald noticed the atmosphere and looked at the royal maids. He realized the situation and grabbed one of the plates filled with cookies and offered her.

“Anne, do you want to try some? Don’t worry about rank as I don’t care about it and you will mention it later when I offered you this. Please help yourselves and you ladies as well.”

As expected of benevolent Gerald. Anne was flustered a little when she was offered a full of cookies that can be shared by others. He is grateful to Gerald. That’s why Gerald is popular in the palace even among the maids, royal guards, gardeners, and so on. He is good towards them.

Therefore, they shared the cookies with each other and Catarina is completely fine with it.

Enjoying their cookies, one of the royal guards entered the dining hall and bowed immediately after.

“Your highness. Your Majesty wishes to see you.”

What is it all about now? He thought. Then Gerald nodded.

And then, Gerald kissed Alice’s forehead, kiss Catarina on the cheek, and lastly, pat Anne’s head. This is the way of how he bid goodbyes.

“Now, see you later.” He turned and said before leaving the hall.

The rest sighed in admiration of the lucky three. Those who were kissed and patted by Gerald touched the part where his lips and hand met their faces.

“My brother’s kiss?” Alice shuddered meekly.

“Alice, that is not a dignified way to react in front of your servants,” Catarina warned.

“I don’t care. At least I got kissed by him.”

“I got kissed by him also, and it was near my lips. Perhaps, he kissed you on the forehead because he sees you as her little sister alone and nothing more.”

“You!”

Then the two were about to have a heated argument on who’s the best.

Tomorrow after that day. Gerald was sleeping on his quarters heavenly. However, the gleaming sunlight that runs through the window disturbs his sleep as his eyes squinted by the sunlight.

“Good morning, Your Highness, your breakfast is ready….Huh?”

That voice, it was his personal maid Anne. But when Gerald looked at her, what she saw was a perplexed Anne.

Why is she looking at him like that? Then he drops his eyes onto his bed to get more sleep but he found something that may be the reason for Anne’s expression.

He was hugged by someone while her feet are embracing him. It was...Alice!!! Her sister? What’s she doing here. It was completely an awkward situation. Her eyes are wide opened indicating that she was already awake. The two both looked at each other’s eyes as if it was a staring contest.

But before he goes out of control of emotions, he calmed himself and assessed the situation.

Wait, it already happened before, this was not the first time. Every time Gerald goes to sleep, her sister will sneak into his bedroom and slept with him. But before he prepared for the day, he turned to Anne who was still perplexed.

He prepared for the day, wearing his usual royal suits, and began to do everything that he can think of during the day.

Before you are assigned to your territory you will attend the military school where you will be equipped with the basics on how to fight, strategizes, and lead troops. Expect that after this day, you will become busy than before. Though Gerald has some inspection needed to be complete since he’s the one who will upgrade the armaments of the Empire. I’m sure your day will be full for the rest of the day until six months.”

“Your Majesty? Where will we be deployed?” Roland asked straightforwardly.

“Gerald will be deployed to Brittania Columbia while you Roland will be deployed to Brittania Australis. There you will be acting as the prime minister and will govern the said territory. Whoever between you govern the better will have the high chance to become my successor to the throne. Now, tomorrow you will attend the Royal Military School. I’ve prepared the necessary preparations. Get ready tomorrow.”

“Understood!” The two said in unison and leave the hall.

So, it was another challenge to the throne huh? The Brittannia Columbia is located in the west of the Empire neighboring two nations, the colonies of Canadium from the North, and the Espania to the south.
