Chapter 37

1605 Words

CHAPTER 37 Queen Sarah sat with Gembert at the table in the Long Room. She’d dispatched knights. The castle was surrounded, under her protection, and hopefully once again under her control. Gembert sat at the table, arm in a sling. “How are you?” Mykal asked. “I’ll survive.” Gembert raised the broken arm best he could. “Thanks to you.” “Any sign of your sister?” Blodwyn asked. “No sign at all. All we know for sure is that she and Axel are no longer anywhere inside the castle.” “Do you know where they could have gone? Any idea?” Mykal asked. Queen Sarah shook her head, eyes lowered. “We’ll not give up on looking for her. Those men that attacked us, they weren’t part of my knights. Gembert’s checked on the knights. They’re all accounted for. I’ve no idea who they are, who they were.”
