CHAPTER 38 In an instant, Mykal’s magic had whisked himself and Blodwyn home from the Cordillera Realm. The swirl of smoke evaporated around them, along with the blanket of warmth it wrapped them in. Mykal ignored the sinking feeling as best he could, and for as long as he could, and rushed into the Library. He’d gone far too long without contact with his mother. His mind was a whirlwind. Having been unable to reach her, his sense of dread grew like storm clouds over the Isthmian. His heart pounded. The throbbing beat behind his ears. A pungent odor filled the spacious hall.
