CHAPTER 19 Blodwyn let Gembert take point. They kept Geneva between them. “Are we being followed?” Gembert struggled walking. Each step taken his leg sank knee-deep in the snow. With his arms raised, he pivoted his body this way and that freeing himself as much as possible before the next step. “Not as far as I can tell.” Blodwyn periodically checked over his shoulder. The trek wasn’t much easier for Geneva even though she followed in Gembert’s tracks. She was shorter, and the snow rose halfway up her thighs.
