CHAPTER 18 Mykal heard two people arguing. “I have no idea what you were thinking bringing him here.” The woman’s voice was high pitched, angry. She wasn’t yelling though. At least, he didn’t think she was. It was hard to tell for certain since he didn’t know who was talking. “You weren’t there, Miriam,” a man responded. They attempted keeping their voices down, not to make too much noise. Maybe they didn’t want to draw unwanted attention, or they worried about waking him.
