Chapter 18 A Military Expedition to the Divine Dimension.

907 Words
A few months later, Hilda Muller was studying the economical Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures of House Muller territory, as well as the Gross Planetary Product (GPP) for planet Earth. It was a terrifying read. Since the Xeno alien invasion and the lost war against the Martians, The GDP of House Muller territory was down 70 per cent, and the GPP for Earth was down 80 per cent. If nothing were done, they would soon have a full-scale rebellion on Earth to deal with. The Terran citizens were used to living in a plutocratic police state with minimal personal and political freedom. They had remained mostly content though, as the factions of the Terran Council had ensured that every Terran citizen lived a life in abundance and wealth, possible due to the asteroid mining stations and the constant plundering of other planets.  Living in abundance but with very limited freedoms, most people avoided any form of dissent as they had too much to lose and very little to gain from political dissent. When people were poor and desperate, things were different. There had been constant warfare and uprisings on Mars throughout the centuries, and Hilda knew that the reasons were not that Martians were uncouth and prone to violence like the Terran Council propaganda had advertised, but because many on Mars were so destitute, so they saw nothing to lose from armed conflict. Hilda Muller realised that she needed to focus on improving the economy but to do that she first needed to deal with the elephant in the room. She needed to eliminate the Xenos and find a way to close the inter-dimensional portals.  Fortunately, she had gathered a lot of intelligence from her Xeno prisoner Ramun. Apparently, the Xenos in their natural state were fearsome but honest and noble, creatures that had fallen under the dark influence of Rangda, their Xeno-Zetan hybrid queen. While Ramun was initially infuriated that she wouldn’t grant him his death, he had come around when Hilda had ordered her scientists to use Terran stem cell technology to grow new limbs for him. Now Ramun was Hilda’s personal pet that was stored in a secure enclosure in Hansstadt zoo, where he was fed a large variety of live animals, to keep him fed and happy, to ensure his cooperation. With access to fresh Xeno cells, Hilda also had access to pure Xeno DNA for research, and it was time to fight back, with an expeditionary force equipped with weapons specially adapted to fight the Xenos, as well as viruses that were computer modelled to be highly efficient against Xenos DNA. Hilda met with Emma Schindler, who had been promoted General of the expeditionary forces for accepting to lead the dangerous expedition. Hilda Muller: -          So, Emma, your orders are very specific. You are to lead an expeditionary force through the portal, deep into Xeno territory and kill their queen Rangda. You’ll be equipped with fast hovercrafts, powerful laser cannons and extra sturdy battle armours, capable of withstanding the force of a Xeno claw attack. Your troops will fight primarily with reinforced diamond shields and plasma swords, as we noticed that regular Terran guns are highly ineffective against the Xenos, due to their use of ballistic absorbers. Emma Schindler: -          Understood. Do you know where we will find this Rangda? Hilda Muller: -          Our prisoner couldn’t answer that question as the Xenos are always on the move. Since the Divine Dimension is supposedly an endless, featureless flat plain, finding them would be almost impossible. There is however a solution. We will equip you with a mobile sensor that can detect infrared radiation from 100,000 kilometres away, which will hopefully be enough to identify the Xenos. Emma Schindler: -          And what about the Zetans, the other alien species that supposedly invented Eden’s secret ancient technology and enslaved humans to fight the Xenos in the past? Hilda Muller: -          The Zetans haven’t attacked Earth and are not a priority. Try to stay out of their way. If necessary, state your business and tell them to back off. Don’t let them enslave you!  Emma Schindler: -          Understood. How do we know that your Xeno prisoner is telling the truth?  Hilda Muller: -          We don’t. But we must do something. Every day the portals stay open, they drain Earth rotation speed. The length of a day has increased from 24 to 25 hours already. If this continues, we will end up having endless hot days and long freezing nights. The entire climate of our planet would collapse, and we will be unable to grow food. Emma Schindler: -          Understood. Anything else I will need to keep in mind? Hilda Muller: -          Yes. Be prepared for anything, we do not know what is on the other side of that portal. The prisoner says that Divine Dimension itself is safe, but we can’t know for sure. -          The lives of 400 soldiers are on your hands, not to mention the future of mankind. -          I don’t anticipate that you will be able to communicate with me during the time you’re there; instead, use your best judgement. -          Good luck and see you when you get back! After saying this, Hilda Muller entered a fast-moving private aircraft that took her back to the Europeum Tower in Hansstadt.
